Driving vehicle turn it off turn back on drive somewhere and turn it off and go swimming for an hour came back go to go start it and would not start I believe it's the anti-theft system as we replaced the ignition switch and the ignition cylinder but my illumination selector for my gear selector nor my tachometer works nor do my front two windows or locks.
The gas gauge senor quit working it is stuck on empty. The mileage is 116,014 there have been other's that has reported this problem. There should be a recall and fixed free of charge by the dealer.
We were traveling from spokane, wa to portland, or, when we got to richland, wa the check engine light came on. We stopped and scanned the computer and gave us a code for a faulty pedal sensor. We erased the code and turned the Trailblazer on and it came back on in about 10 minutes. We read online that other people that have Trailblazer ss are having this issues and there was a recall on the sensor and they are getting theirs replaced. I talked to autonation Chevrolet and camp Chevrolet here in spokane, wa and they both have heard of the recall and the issue but since it won't show up under my VIN number they will not honor the recall. They won't 100 to 150 to diagnose when it took me 5 seconds and they want us to pay about 600+ dollars for an repair that should be free. I read about the sensor and our truck is doing everything it says it will do. When you are at a light and go to push the gas pedal it boggs down like about to die then lunges forward and shifting hard between gear 1 or 2. Can someone please help us with this and help us get the dealership to work with us. If we continue to drive it an accident could happen any moment. This is a huge hazard!!!.
The problem started on Wednesday January 21, 2015; I started my car up to let it warm up while I dusted off the snow. I notice my heated seats were not working. I turned the car off and restarted it. As soon as I restarted it the car began to backfire and stale. It would start but then stale out. I had to get the trucked towed to the local mechanic. I pick up my truck that evening and it ran fine. The next morning Thursday January 22, I got in my truck and it started right up. However, every stop I came to the truck just shut off. I restarted it and then would just shut off at the next stop. The engine light did not come on until I was drive to the mechanic. Again that evening I picked up my truck and everything was fine. Friday January 23, I was driving my 7 year old to school and the car just shut off while I was driving down a steep hill. I had no brakes or steering. This happened 3 times. I again took my car to the mechanic. He kept my car for 4 day. I finally picked it up yesterday January 24 and it is still not fixed. My mechanic said he is stumped. It drove great after picking it up. Then this morning January 25, as I was taking my daughter to school, my car shut off 3 time while I was driving down two hills. Then it staled 2 more times while I was a red lights. I nearly missed two accidents. By doing research online I found hundreds upon hundreds of complaints from people having the same issue. I call the local chevy mechanic and he said this is an known problem. I called chevy directly and they too are aware of the problem and number of complaints. I even found complaints on this very site. I'm just curious if someone has to die before this problem gets fixed. I have a recall on my drivers door for a part that catches fire, but no recall for the truck just shutting off when in motion. Doesn't make sense to me.
Gas gauge not working, fuel sensor recall was issued a few years back, vehicle was not fixed but now recall does not show up at the dealers.
In lieu of all the current recalls applicable to my vehicle, non of which affect mine. The one recall that gm should be issuing, I have yet to see, which in my concern could be deemed a safety matter. The fuel level sensor malfunctioning, clearly a manufacturing defective part and/or system. Quoting gm's claim on the recall notice in my possession. . . " general motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2006 model year Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicles. As a result, gm is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for this inconvenience. However, we are concerned about your safety and continued satisfaction with our products. " careful review and consideration on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,.
I have a 2006 chevy Trailblazer ext. . . . So it goes, I was preparing for my long road trip to yosemite, and had just fueled up. Once I turned on the car the check engine light went on and then I noticed the gas gauge moving randomly, back and forth. It then stayed on empty. Well I called our mechanic since we were leaving on a road trip and he recommended I fill up at every 200 miles to be safe. After I was told of the expense to fix it, I continue to prolong the repair and decided to do further research into this situation. I am baffled by the amount of people who have experience this problem and still no recall by gm. Can you imagine the people who have not reported the problem and just take it directly to their mechanic to fix. Should everyone be reporting the incident we may have gotten this to turn into a recall. Well in hopes that my complaint helps. . . Here it goes. Good luck to everyone who is experiencing this problem. It sucks not knowing how much gas you really have.
Went to fill up and when started the vehicle it showed empty and has been going crazy ever since then.
The fuel gaugue crashed the gas gauge will swing from empty to full on ocassion, but usually just stays on low fuel. From what I can tell this is a common problem in 05-07 trailblaizers. Sometimes.
The fuel guage reads empty when filled up. Then the fuel indicator will go from empty to full to anywhere between.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while parked, he noticed an overpowering gasoline odor. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the fuel rail would need to be replaced because there was a hairline fracture on the fuel rail near the alternator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
This is to report a defect that is a safety issue with the fuel sensing system. This is to document my claim for recall purposes. There have been two incidents, but I am reporting the first incident to keep this report short. While I was driving the fuel indicator showed about ¼ full, then all of a sudden, it dropped to less than empty and my fuel light engaged. As I was driving to get to the nearest gas station, the engine stopped while I was driving in traffic. Luckily, I was in a position to let the vehicle roll around a corner. It was in a dangerous place just as cars were completing the turn. I put the emergency flashers on and exited the vehicle. I was fortunate to be able to get out of the car before an accident could occur. It was also fortunate that my vehicle didn't cause an accident that could have hurt someone besides myself. The other reason why this is a safety concern, is I have a rare medical condition that affects my lungs and heart. It placed me in a potentially dangerous position to heat exposure. I have a hard time breathing in heat and humidity. Again, fortune was on my side, and there was a tree for shade to wait for help and it was one month before it got dangerously hot. Granted, there is always a chance anything could happen to a car that could potentially place me in the same position, but in this case, another occurrence occurred and when I called a local mechanic, it was well known that has been an issue with the fuel sensor. Upon further research, I am among many that has made this complaint and placed in dangerous predicaments. To replace a small sensor costs a whole months income in my case. I do not feel it is appropriate to require a consumer to pay and replace a defective component that is a safety issue. It is my intent this ongoing investigation comes to a close, as I have seen reports since 2011.
On 11 Feb 2013, I was getting gas when my fuel gage began acting crazy. It would go to full then a few seconds later go to empty and my fuel light would go on. I contacted my local dealership who said I should get a letter in the mail concerning this issue because a recall had been initiated. I have yet to receive a letter and after doing research I see there is an open action on this #dp10001. What I need to know is how do I get this letter, I see others comments which state if your vehicle is over 120,000 miles they will not pay for the repair. My vehicle is now over 120,000 miles but when the issue occurred it was not. How do I get this recall initiated? please help.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet trail blazer ext 370. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and while idle, the gas gauge fluctuated from empty to full continuously as the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel level sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 113,762. Sg.
The truck has been at a several times into a chevorlet dealer, the check engine light the reduced engine light and the traction control lights all come on at the same time and it causes a failure in which the vehicle losses 90% of power . The failure happens at random time and all weather and traffic conditions. I have had it at two dealers as well have contacted gm executive dept. They have claimed to be fixed several times but it still fails. The issue at hand is that in traffic conditions this failure proves to be a huge safety hazard for myself and other drivers on the road. Its not a used car issue as its an electrical failure issue. I have asked time and time again to have a gm field tech come look at the car but, they insist that the dealer fix it. I need someone more to see and understand the failure comes with at great risks of other drivers on the road. If you goggle this problem you will see others have the issue and I think its worth a recall if they can find a fix for it but after 3 years and several tries they are still unable to fix the issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that when refueling the vehicle, the fuel level gauge would provide inaccurate fuel level readings. The contact stated that she took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection where they stated that there was not a recall on the vehicle but they would pay for half of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and also stated that they would pay for half of the repair costs. The failure mileage was 52,000. Kmj.
The gas gauge is erratic and stays on empty most of the time.
After refueling the gas gauge still read empty, bounced up and down, gas gauge light came on, service engine soon light came on, pulled over, turned off car, turned on car- same thing - has happened with every refueling since. Only way to know how much gas is in car is to watch and reset tripometer- which does not always happen with various family members- making it unsafe for long distance high speed highway travel since you cannot rely on the gas gauge, or even know if service engine soon light actually means something other than gas gauge.
Rear brake lights keep going and having to change them bi weekly.
The problems just began with my car with the gas gauge working intermittently and with in 2 weeks I had to change the drivers side taillight which was not only burned out but the housing was melted to the bulb. Next within a weeks time I was in the drive thru getting food and all the gauges just flashed and the car died. Upon trying to restart it several times the lights flashed off and on; the doors locked and unlocked themselves and their was not even enough power to call onstar. Check fuses found no problems. Still waiting diagnosis and getting it fixed.
Fuel sending unit failed so I could not tell how much fuel I had. Gm would not replace it. They sent me a letter that they had problems with them all. And would pay for half of the repair. That is unacceptable.
The gas gauge is inaccurate. I ran out of gas when I thought there was gas in the car. Since then (had just recently purchased vehicle) I have to fill up and reset mileage so that I will know if I actually have gas and when it is likely that I'll need to get more.
The gas gage stopped working completely and now the check engine light is on. This has been a problem with several other Trailblazers of the same year. The fuel sensor is bad in this model, I have taken it to a mechanic who told me the check engine light is also due to this. I have ran out of gas a few times due to the fuel gage not working. I think this should be an issue that would be a recall. It is an expensive fix and the consumer should not have to pay for this to be fixed!!!!.
I was driving down the road about 20 mph and the drivers window went down by itself and wouldnt go back up, sometimes when you try to start vehicle nothing happens and then a few seconds later it starts on its own, when it rains all the speakers quit working except the front tweeter speakers, sometimes when I shut the drivers door kinda hard it wont start and u cant lock doors with keyless entry, fuel guage quit working after I filled up with gas.
Fuel sensor is not working, it reads empty even if I have just filled it up.
Faulty gas gauge sensor on 2006 Trailblazer.
The gas gauge stays on empty.
Fuel guage will show gas left in car, no low fuel indicator light coming on and will run out of gas. Have ran out twice on expressway because indicating has fuel but doesnt.
I own a 2006 chevy Trailblazer and my fuel guage does not work at all, also, in the driver's side door the components melted.
The gas gauge goes to empty when it is full than eventually it will return to full after driving it sometime from what I have been reading this happened to alot of chevy Trailblazers and I dont think we should be responsible for it. They are saying the repair can run anywhere from 400 to 900 dollars. . Which this is not fair.
I'm filing this complaint regarding gm's faulty fuel sensors. The gas gause on my 2006 chevy Trailblazer stopped registering. When the dealer advised it would cost $500 to fix it I researched online and found 100's upon 100's of similar complaints. I believe a recall is necessary. It's unfair and unjust to expect the consumer to pick up the bill for gm's faulty engineering/part.
Gas gauge began to malfunction in December. It would go from full to empty every once in a while. Over time it got worse and worse, until now, where it does not work at all.
Vehicle bought Aug 2010 with 76, 014 miles on it. About one month after the purchase the gas guage starting acting erratic. ( could have been that way when we bought it but didnt notice. ) when you would fill it up it would still read e until you drove about 50 miles off from it then it would bounce around sometimes reading correct other times not. I ran out of gas on I-69 one time fortunately for me no one was behind me because I the whole vehicle starting jerking and eventually just shut off. The vehicle still read that it had gas at that point. In February 2011 the gas guage just quit working all together would read e even when you filled it all the way up. Had to use gallons used to tell how much fuel was in it. May 2011 the check engine light started coming on and off. July 11, 2011 I took it to a gm service shop found out the error for the check engine light was the fuel sensor and the same reason the guage wasnt working. $458 and change to have it fixed. I had it fixed because I couldnt afford to run out of gas on the freeway again with three small children that are frequently riding with me. Looking for a recall because this is a very widespread issue and a potentially dangerous one when people are running out of gas on major freeways because of it.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that after refueling, the fuel level gauge would not register the quantity of the fuel added. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I have a 2006 chevy Trailblazer, with about 57,000 miles. The gas sensor is malfunctioning, as after I fill up with gas, the gauge with go from empty, to full, to empty, etc. After some research, I find out I am one of many with this same problem, and feel this should be part of a recall to fix this problem. Cost to fix this problem is estimated at $800 or more.
