Eight problems related to other fuel system tank mounting have been reported for the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Bought used, mileage indicated above. The fuel gauge was showing an approximate proper amount at 1/4 tank. On first fuel up, full, the fuel gauge went to show "empty". It stayed like this for an approx. 1/4 tank, then went to the actual fuel amount. This occurred for about the next 5 fill ups, then the fuel gauge would not work at all. . . . Always showing empty. This has caused me running out of fuel twice, luckily I was able to stop vehicle safely, both times I was in moderate to heavy traffic. I have found no recalls, but many complaints! what's up with this! I have lost trust in chevy for not fixing an obvious factory problem!.
I own a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with about 87000 miles on it. Recently the fuel gauge has been showing empty upon starting with the low fuel light being on. As you drive sometimes the gauge will show the amount of fuel in the tank and sometimes it varies and is all over the place making it impossible to determine how much fuel you have left. I am making it a habit to monitor my miles so as to not run out of fuel. No accidents or injuries have occurred related to this issue, it is just a nuisance at this time. I haven't had it repaired as it involves replacing the fuel pump/sending unit at an estimated cost of $800. This is just an fyi type thing to show you that many of these type vehicles have this issue. Thank you for your time.
Chevrolet Trailblazer (2006) fuel gage does not work. Gives no indication of amount of fuel in tank.
The gas gauge began to malfunction, indicating that the tank was empty when it was not or inaccurately measuring the amount of fuel. This also triggers the engine light to go on and now happens consistently when the vehicle is turned on. The vehicle has 60,000 miles and the part was replaced for $530.
My 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer has a defective fuel sensor. The fuel gauge constantly stays yellow - indicating empty - regardless of actual fuel level, causing me to use only my tripometer to gauge the amount of mileage I have left on a tank of fuel. It also causes the engine light to come on whenever I fill up. As my vehicle is out of warranty, the repair would cost approximately $1000 to fix an issue that I'm finding out is a prevalent issue with the several gm products - with no recourse through Chevrolet.
Gas gauge on 2006 chevy Trailblazer faulty. Does not show correct amount of gas in tank. I notified gm saying I did not think it was right for the gauge to be bad already because it was only a 2006 vehicle. I was given the run around and they basically said they would not fix it.
I own a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext and the fuel gauge never registers the correct amount of fuel. It always fluctuates between empty and 3/4 full even after filling the tank completely. I have had this problem for at least one month now and the repairs will be at least $500. 00 to complete. . Read more...
The gas tank ball sensor is defective and causes the environmental light to go on. The fuel tank always shows that its empty and can lead to people being stranded due to unknown amounts of fuel in the tank.
