general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer - part 1

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the driver's power master window switch had failed, and she was unable to roll up the windows. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had caused water to leak inside the vehicle significantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system, visibility); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 214,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Keeps blowing #46 headlight relay. Happens every 2-3 weeks. When this happens the low beams stop working. I have to switch to high beams to continue driving.

I've had the brakes replaced because I thought they were an issue I was having with my abs. But my car will randomly lock its brakes as I'm driving, no matter what speed. I'm scared to drive it. It also almost loses all power after breaking but then speeds up on its own making it almost impossible to slow down or brake.

My headlights turn off bybthemselves while driving, other times they wont turn off at all after car is turned off even while in park, and other times they turn on while switched to off position randomly in the middle of te night resulting in a dead battery come morning. My driver window no longer works as well as driver power locks. Happening since 2020 random at first now permentant removal of fuse switch in order to shut off lights and the fuse switch is hot to the touch upon removal.

The first thing to go wrong was the power windows don't work properly in the winter, now the air conditioner only blows cold air intermittently, and the most recent problem is the headlights won't work at all, I called the local service center and they said that the electrical recalls were VIN specific, even tho I had the correct make model and year my VIN did not qualify for the recall! I'm very upset that they can be VIN specific but I'm having all the issues on the recalls!! I can no longer drive my vehicle if it is raining, foggy, or dark because I have no headlights!!! I also lost control of my car in the rain and think it has to do with the stabilitrak, the light has been on for a while, luckily I stopped my car before I crashed into anything.

My doors have had water seeping in them the whole time and I’ve replaced my speakers multiple times.

Ffuse block caught on fire because of bad relay. The lights went out on my way home from missoula montana to hamilton montana. Thankfully the high beams still worked . On opening the fuse block the day and low beam lighs relay had melted a 1/2 inch hole in the fuse block.

While driving my vehicle it started producing a light smoke through defrost vent on passenger side. I stopped and opened the hood to see if something was on fire in the engine area and there was not. I got back in my vehicle and proceeded to drive it back home and within seconds I had black smoke rolling from dashboard and flames shooting from under dash on passenger side hitting passenger seat next to me I pulled over and my son and I jumped out thankfully he was in back seat and the car was engulfed in flames within seconds. Car is totaled. Passenger window quit working about a month ago but I figured it was a window motor issue but now I'm wondering if it was connected.

Had recall repaired at dealer. Car caught fire door panel switches. Repair has now failed again 12/23/2019. The previous incident, wires were burning in the door panel. Door locks and light were operating erratically. This time the driver s controls are all inoperative. Car was moving at time, made to house, called fire dept via onstar. Car was at dealer several days. Did complain something still banging in door radio speaker has not worked since their recall repair.

The speedometer keeps malfunctioning. The speedometer needle sticks at a higher speed after decelerating or stopping, making it impossible to know what speed you are driving. This happens mostly when the weather warms up, spring/summer/fall. Making a hard braking stop, like at an intersection, will sometimes cause the needle to drop back 5-10 mph, as will turning the car off and back on. Most specifically, yesterday, may 31, 2019, the speedometer needle wouldn't go back down at all, and my speedometer was "pegged" past the top end of 110mph. I have researched online, and this seems to be a common and chronic issue with this model.

All of sudden my tail gate will not open unless the vehicle is running and I hit the unlock button 5 or more times and then at times that doesn't work also my airbag light starting blinking and now it won't go off. I called about a recall and was told there wasn't one for this problem but on line it showed it was. My case number is 4864379595 I am going threw cancer treatments and need my vehicle please let me know if this is under recall as I can't pay right now to get it fixed.

Recalled, been trying to get gm dealers to repair recalled door system since purchase oct 2017. Went out to vehicle, opened door smoke had filled inside vehicle, door panel was warm. All kinds out dash lights blinking, power windows inop.

Trouble with my ignition. Sometimes will not shut off and unable to remove key. Happens every time I use it.

The passlock system comes on and stops engine even while driving, it is very dangerous this has happened a number of times. This has happened today on the hwy,and was very alarming. Gm has been of no help.

The driver side door electrical panel malfunctions and the door does not open and the window does not go down and the window lock unlocks after being locked. The rack and pinion had to be replaced twice. The car turned off while driving. The light in the back will not work no matter how many times the bulb and rack has been replaced.

My power window on the driver side recently quit working and I am driving around in freezing weather with the window open. I understand there was a recal #13v248000 on this issue.

My low bean head lights stopped working. 2006/2007 Trailblazers had a recall for the head light module. The dealership charged me for the repair. However, I'm told my car doesn't qualify for the recall. Its the same make model and year.

My head lights and day time running lights will not turn on.

Driving as normal, when stopped at a stop light, rough idle to completly shutting off and throwing enine codes. This has happened multiple times and found out today that the fuse block is trashed.

Vehicle was parked for a few hours when went to start up to leave both low beam headlights/daytime running lights suddenly went out and have not come back on. Fuses are good and bright lights work also low beam bulbs are good.

The contact replaced the bulb, but the failure recurred. The second time, the front passenger and driver side low beam lights failed to illuminate. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v599000 (visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

In the affected vehicles the headlamp driver module (hdm) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to then fail and not illuminate. 2007 Trailblazer is being recalled for lighting issues. My 2007 Trailblazer is experiencing same issues but I was told by gmail that mine was not one recalled.

Was driving at night and another vechile beside me told me I had no lights. The low beams aren't working,the high beams are fine. I was in motion at the time. But stopped at a red light. I was on a city street,going straight.

While driving on the highway the loe beam lights flickered on and off and shut off for a couple of seconds. The driver door window switch continually malfunctions while driving and stationary windows won't roll up or down and the fuel level gauge works sometimes and other times it won't.

Bad blower motor resistor. The a/c completely shuts off when switched to position "5" on fan speed. I just replaced this part about a month ago. It has been working fine since I replaced it. The same thing is happening again now. The fan shuts completely off when in position "5". This needs to be recalled. There is something wrong with the design of the electrical system. I am worried that this will eventually cause a fire from malfunctioning. Yet another problem with this vehicle.

My truck was involved in a accident and my air bags did not deploy and my charging system goes in and out my 4wd comes on by itself and I have to turn it off while driving.

There is time the key will keep turn engine over even when you let go of key , #2 headlamp and daytime driving lite sometimes won't won't work properly. And the last thing is my driver side master doesn't work properly when it rain.

My 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer had low beam headlights not working when I turn them on. I have to drive at night with high beam lights (they work fine) and I am very annoying to other drivers. I had vehicle checked out and fuses and light bulbs appear fine. I understand this is a common occurrence. I need it fixed.

Upon entering vehicle to leave a parking lot at night, discovered the headlights wouldn't work (still not working). The fuses are not out. Tried replacing the headlight switch box, but that didn't fix the problem so put the original back on the vehicle. Everything else in the vehicle seems to be working fine. Discovered an online report stating a problem found on this vehicle, "headlamp driver module failure," gm recall number 14291; however, can't find anything since with regard to a solution via gm. Called the chevy number, 1 800 222 1020, but informed that nothing found for our VIN number. Looked online with our VIN number also, but nothing is listed for this issue. Cannot drive the vehicle at night now or safely in a rainy weather situation, etc. Will contact our local gm dealer to see if we can get this situation taken care of, but decided we should send this email as well.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer 360. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the headlights and instrument panel became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was restarted and the headlights and instrument panel were operable, however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000. Djr.

I parked my 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer in my driveway Sunday 6/21/2015. I received a call an hour later from my neighbor that my lights was still on. I always have my lights set that when you get out of the vehicle they go off automatically. Tried to turn off the lights with no luck. I smelled electrical burning coming from the engine area. Found the fuse box in the engine bay and noticed that the hdm module #45 was completely melted. When I took the car to the auto shop, not only did they find that the hdm module #45 was melted, it had ruined the main fuse circuit board from the heat. Luckily this happened during the daylight and not at night, because I wouldn't have had headlights very long with this module being melted. Also this could have easily started a fire in the engine bay with the amount of heat that was coming off of the melted hdm module. This I believe is a safety problem in the Trailblazers and should be recalled.

I was trying to roll down the windows for my wife. The windows would not roll down at first. I checked to make sure that the window was not lock and it wasn't. After a few minutes the window finally rolled. Down. This has happened on several occasions.

Fuel gauge read full tank when in fact the tank was empty. I ran out of gas in my driveway. When this occurred my on dash computer went crazy lighting up then turning off, when I put gas in the car and restarted several times the computer seemed to correct itself. Filling the tank the gauge read empty and remained that way for several days. The gauge operates intermittently. I recently had the fuel pump replaced after failure. The pump was replaced prior to this incident. I have scheduled the gauge repair with my dealer.

Burned to ground, fire started from under hood.

I was driving my truck heading home and noticed the road looked dark. I pulled over into a parking lot and realized I had no low beams. My blinkers, fog lights and high beams all worked properly. I had to drive home with my high beams on, blinding other drivers. My headlights and daytime running lights have intermittently went out off and on (approximately 4 times) over the past year. I had the dealership look into it the last time I was there and they couldn't find a problem. When researching what could cause both lights to fail at the same time, I came across the latest recall info. I called chevy and gave them my VIN and was told my vehicle is not affected by this recall. Strange, since I have all the exact same problems listed in the recall and my vehicle has been affected by all of the other recalls on it so far.
