Me and my wife own a 2010 Traverse and 2 days ago the engine just shut off while driving down the highway and she was almost hit several times in the few seconds it took to turn the hazzard lights on, im not understanding why all these complaints about engine issues are being submitted but no actions ive been a life long gm owner and this is a turning me towards looking elsewhere my wife could have been killed or my 3 children had they been in the car at the time this needs to be addressed before someone dies due to poor craftsmanship by a good car manufacturer please investigate this.
The car shut off while driving on the road multiple times. It would then start back up while still rolling on the highway. At lights it shutoff and I then had tobrestart it it did this all the way home. The engine light came on. Scanner says p0019 states it's the correlation n timing chain and cam sensor. Upon researching there are multiple cases of this happening with this in particular motor. Doing this while on the road is incredible unsafe and could have cause me to be in an accident.
While at a stop sign our 2010 Traverse shut off. It powered down everything, it would start up again but would shut down several times again. My son was in the passenger seat and noticed when he pressed down on a certain spot on the passenger side floor the car shut off. We have our car at the Chevrolet place now and they were very skeptical until my son placed his foot on the spot and the car shut down right in front of them. They will be looking at the car Monday 10/13/14 to see what the problem is. This car in no longer under warranty, I would think this is Chevrolet problem with the Traverse. (?).
