Service air bag light is intermittent as an icon also in text of drivers display. I have only owned this car for four months and have had it to a gm service dealer twice. First trip costed $254. 15 for an impact sensor and diagnosis. Two days later lights one again this time tensioner kit was replaced. It's been about four weeks and the lights are back on again. It happens anytime, driving or being started, no rough terrain just cruising and lights will come on.

Air bag light has been going off and on for 2 yrs. Ive taken it to the dealership multiple times. In fact, I took it 4 times because they said they fixed it, drive off dealer lot and the air bag light goes off again. Finally fixed it. 6 months later air bag light comes on again! the air bag light goes off and on all the time. It seems to be a wiring issue or loose fitting but dealer cant seem to fix it permanently. Sometimes the light will go on when I start the car first thing in the am while im parked in the garage overnight. Sometimes it goes off while driving-doesnt seem to matter if car is in motion or not. Ive had to pay to have dealer "fix" it but its not fixed whatever is the issue. I estimate that air bag light has gone on at least a dozen times and most recently last month.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated while driving. The contact was concerned that the air bag might deploy while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where failure code: b001e (air bag light) was found. The contact called mcgonigal Buick GMC ((765) 252-0124, located at 2828 e markland Ave, kokomo, in 46901) and scheduled a diagnostic appointment. The manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall and did not offer further assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,591.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall regarding the air bags. After the repair, the air bag indicator illuminated several times. The main air bag module was replaced by two different dealers (radley Chevrolet, 3670 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, (540) 898-4000 and battlefield Chevrolet, 10411 james monroe hwy, culpepper, va 22701, (540) 317-1844). Both dealers stated that different parts of the air bag were malfunctioning and needed to be repaired at the owner's expense. The contact purchased an extended warranty when she purchased the vehicle, but the air bags were not covered. The contact called the manufacturer and filed a complaint. The failure mileage was 30,000.
My 15 year old daughter (permit driver) driving to school for extra community service hours (on a Sunday) and the car started to shake and not accelerate, the traction control, check stability control flashing. Very dangerous situation for a 15 year old driver. We pulled over and I took the wheel, same thing happened, we barely made it back home. Also, airbag light comes on randomly, had this serviced due to recall and the problem has started again. Frustrated mom.
Vehicle has 140,000 miles on it and my air bag light as well as "service air bag" showing up in my indicator is on constant. My mechanic is stating this falls under an existing recall #15536, but yet my VIN is not part of that specific recall so the dealership I purchased my vehicle wants to charge me to repair this. My mechanic states the connector under the driver's seat is the issue. This light initially started as just flashing on occasion, now it is on solid, never goes off. I have never had an accident in my vehicle. No reason as to why this would all of a sudden become an issue.

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the service air bag message had displayed and the air bag light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who repaired the airbag wire harness but the failure had reoccurred. The contact indicated that the failure had been serviced by the dealer on five separate occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. Jft.
Air bag light continues to come on even after taking it to dealership to get the recall fixed. Dealership team says it is fixed but light continues to come on. I'm not sure if the maintenance team has really fixed the recall or they are just resetting the alert.
Takata recall. Airbag light is on, passenger side airbag is not workong.
Air bag light came on and it was a factory plug that isn't making a good connection I had to pay a chevy garage to soldier its a factory service bulletin.
So basically like everyone else is stating all of the sudden when you are driving the light comes on and says traction control off/service strabila trac and the the check engine light comes on and you have reduced engine power. My mechanic has had me drive straight to him every time this happens because if I turn the car off the computer does not hold the codes. He was getting a reading of the ignition coils being bad. We have replaced all six ignition coils about two weeks ago. Today 06/04/18 it did it again. This has been going on for a while and nobody really seems to know what the problem is. I am seriously out of money to keep experimenting with repairs at this point. Gm really needs to step up and do a recall. Also these cars had an airbag recall and I took it in and was told they fixed that recall. My airbag light remains on and they tell me I have to replace the airbag at my cost! why? seriously loosing faith in gm products.
Check air bag light came on briefly. Dealer said they couldn't find a code in the system showing that it had come one. Then as I'm driving with my kids in the car, the traction light comes on randomly, it starts wanting to turn off on itself. Mind you I'm on a very busy street with morons going over 60 mph behind me. It could have been a major accident! I went to advance auto cause I thought maybe it was my battery, even though its a brand new car. No. It wasn't they tested it and everything. So I called the dealer and they took it in for a day to then tell me that it is showing battery codes. I had just checked the battery the day before! so I knew it wasn't that, but they wouldn't do anything about it. So to play it safe, I bought a new battery. I had the place I bought the new one from test my old battery and big shocker the test came back as a good battery. So I spent the money for a unnecessary battery. A month goes by and nothing happens. Then about 2-3 weeks ago my screen starts complaining about "disk error" the dvd system isn't even on, and I'm not playing music on it either so it shouldn't be showing me "disk error" even if there was a disk in it. The damn thing was off! and yesterday my husband goes to drive the car and it starts acting crazy again wanting to turn off on itself. So I'm done. It's a hazard to my family to own this car. Also, I heard from an acquaintance that owns the same car but an older model that this was happening to her vehicle too, and that it was covered under a recall but because ours is newer it isn't covered. So we got screwed with this vehicle. Thanks gm.

My airbag light remains on after having it fixed. My stabilitrac and traction control comes on randomly after having it fixed twice. Then being told it's a sensor that makes it come on, and they are having a hard to reproducing the issue at chevy service center. It makes it difficult to accelerate and makes truck jerk. I have to pull over let the car reset, and then start driving again. Different conditions, and speeds, ever since December/January.
My air bag light keeps coming on. I'm thinking this should be a manufacturer warranty? this is a very big issue as it involves the safety of all passengers in the chevy Traverse. Please look into this immediately!!.
"service air bag" message displayed and airbag light is on in the car's information center. The message just came on when I started my car in the morning. I've had this car for 10 months and it has been involved in no accidents.
My airbag light went on and after 2 service call the dealer determine that I would need a new airbag installed.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that their air bag harness wire came loose. In result of this the contact had difficulty driving. The air bag light did illuminate. The vehicle was taken to coleman Chevrolet 510 addison st, new boston, TX 75570 (903) 628-6553 where the mechanics refused to repair the vehicle because it was out of warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 81,500. Jw.
Dashboard displays "service airbag" randomly and intermittently. I looked up special coverage 15804 and brought vehicle to dealership where I purchased. My VIN doesn't have the special coverage but the diagnostics are the same as described. Dealership agreed to obtain dic code which is b0014. This code is included in special coverage 15804 but my VIN hasn't been included. The service airbag light has come on while driving and upon ignition.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. When the vehicle was started, the service air bag and seat belt indicators illuminated and remained lit. Team Chevrolet in valparaiso, in (219- 210-4755) was called and recommended diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.

I do not know if this is a takata problem because I was informed that takata went bankrupt. On November 1, 2017 I took my SUV into george nahas Chevrolet dealer due to my problem . I informed them that my airbag light went on and off. I thought it was an electrical problem because I can reach under my seat and move the wires and the light would go off. They charge me $199. 90 for a diag and later informed me that it was a poor connection. I drove the car and a few days later the light went on again. I took my car in again and I thought they fixed it this time but again a few days later the light went on again. Back again to nahas Chevrolet and this time after waiting hours they told me that I needed to replace the airbag and it will cost me $1,037. 90. I was not a happy camper. I decided not to pay $1,037. 90 because the car was a 2012. I asked the manager to refund my $199. 90 because after the first repair it wasn't fix and then after the second attempt I had the same problem. After the 3rd time I met with the service manager, my conversation with him was since nataka went bankrupt no other notifications would be given. In my opinion now chevy or the dealer now carries the responsibility to repair the airbag problem. I hope you understand my problem and agree with me that the dealer has to fix my problem.
"takata recall" went to start my car and the check airbag light went on. I took my car in 3 times and finally the dealer informed me that I needed a new airbag. Since there has been many recalls pertaining to airbags I informed the dealer that it could be a possibility it was part of the recall. The dealer informed me that the year and make of my car was not part of the recall. The cost for the new air bag was over a thousand dollars there was no way that I was going to spend that kind money when there has been so many recalls. I feel since takata went bankrupt I feel that gm should be responsible since they contracted takata an outsource company.
"takata recall" my service air bag light comes on and off while I am driving and this has happen for years. When I call the dealerships they tell me its nothing they can do.
Have had my vehicle in dealer to fix air bag light several times and it is still on. My wife was involved in an accident where airbags should of deployed and didn't. Luckily she was not injured.
Service air bag light illuminated about 9 months ago. The issue was reported by dealer as wire harness under the driver side that was replaced and welded. Now same issue after 9 months again (September 2017) service light come on again and dealer told me is the same issue but now is under the passenger side. My vehicle is currently under 71k miles. Really concern I had these two events. Something is wrong with the seat wire harness creating the same failure mode. What is wrong with the wire harness? both issues were not covered by gm. They stated that only is covered under bumper to bumper limited to 36k miles. I issued a concern with gm and gave me this number to record this concern 8-3308753301 however the solution is that I need to take care since is out of warranty.
Takata recall, my airbag light comes on and goes off whenever it wants. Sometimes it with come on and stay on for days to months at a time, I took it back to the chevy dealership where I purchased it from. I paid for the diagnostic and for them to fix it and it stood off for a few weeks and came back on and when I called and told them that my airbag light came back on they to me to make an appointment to get a 3rd diagnostic and for me to paid again I refused and I am just dealing with the light coming and going off on its own. I have to hold my key in the ignition in the forward position being cranked for about 4-5sec just for my SUV to turn on and asked the dealership why and they couldn't give me an answer and just shrugged there shoulders with no answers. And when I put my give my SUV a little bit of throttle it hesitates a bit and when I happen to floor it being stuck in the snow it studder and hesitated for about a sec or two before it reacted.
In 8/2017 I took my 2014 chevy Traverse with 42k miles to shop for service airbag light that came on. Since that time, in the past 10months I have had at dealer 6 times for the same thing. I currently am having the same issue and cannot get Chevrolet to call me back to fix airbag issue once and for all. I have left several message and no reply from chevy. This is a safety issue and it is putting my families safety at risk. I am not very happy that it has not been fixed properly in the 6 times it has been at a gm dealer nor the fact chevy does not care and will not call me back. They should have to buy back this car if they cannot fix it correctly.
76,600 miles and the service air bag light is illuminated on my dash . Dealer is aware of issue. 2013 Traverses were recalled for the same issue but 2014 only received a service bulletin to extend the warranty to 72,000 or 6 years which ever came first. The air bags will not work when the light is on putting my children and I at serious risk if involved in an accident. This problem is due to a wire harness under the seat that needs to be soldered with a specialized by the dealer. The dealership stated the longer the light stays on the less of a chance the airbags will work even after the repair is completed. There are so hundreds of complaints for the same issue from other 2014 Traverse owners. I called the estero bay Chevrolet yesterday to notify them of the issue and the service manager kevin told me that I would have to pay a $119 diagnosis fee and for the repair to fix the issue. The repair could cost between $300 - $1,200. The dealer should be responsible for fixing this safety issue. This problem is because of their choice to use low quality parts or their manufacturing in the factory and not a normal wear and tear issue. I can not afford to fix this issue and am concerned that there is a chance even after paying for the repairs that my airbags will not work to protect my family if involved in an accident.
Bought the car a year and half ago and sevice air bag light was on so dealership fixed probleb because its a safety issue the light came back on 4 months later.
Air bags light keeps turning on , my front suspension keeps rattling keep fixing it and can't find the problem , my seat belts keep breaking, we have a elictrical problem sometimes things work and sometimes it don't , and tail gate jerks sometimes when closing.
Service air bag light came on and displays on my dashboard. Was told the seat module was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,271. 00 who would think this goes bad and costs this much too replace. This is the first gm car I ever had this issue with and I have owned quite a few over the last 20+ years.
Have only had this vehicle since late January 2017. Within 2 days of having it, the service stabilitrak, service traction control and reduce engine power alarms came up. There was also gas fumes filling my car. Had service completed, all that was found was a fouled out spark plug. Car has had these same alarms come up maybe a dozen times over the past 6 months. The first time these came up, vehicle was idling. Other times. I was driving on the interstate. Have also had the service airbag light come up as well. The middle seatbelt in the center of the car, doesn't come out at all.
