There are several problems with my van. The first is the plug at the base of the captains chair on the driver side has broken twice. Since it is plastic-I have already replaced this item. The van has an intake leak which I can't afford to fix, this was discovered at 64,000 miles. With a price tag of over $500 dollars to replace, it is still an issue. At the 60667 miles it was discovered that both the left and right front wheel bearings needed to be replaced. That was done with the hefty price tag of $1,279. 00 which also included rear wheel cylinders which had begun leaking and needed replaced. Now the brakes are squealing again and I am really concerned about this pattern.

Without warning, my 2002 chevy Venture van's a/c stopped working -- a. C. Specialist determined that not only did the compressor stop working, it somehow had exploded and sent freon and metal shards causing additional damage and highter costs -- this was in June a couple of weeks before vacation - what could we do but pay the almost $2,000 costs (a lot of labor!). An a/c compressor going when it's only 4 years old? what a defective part! soon after this incident, the fuel gauge stopped working - can't afford another pricey repair, so we've been tracking mileage with the trip odometer to tell us when it's time to refill. This car doesn't hold a candle to my old 1990 lumina van that last to over 200,000 miles! very disappointed with chev -- don't know if I'll ever buy american again!!!.

We purchased this van from a local dealer about 5 months ago. It had just 40,000 miles on it. Since then we have had the oil changed twice and in between oil changes we have had to add over 6 quarts of oil. At 600 miles we had put in 2 quarts of oil. There is no sign of leaking and no sign of smoke from the exhaust. We purchased an extended warranty and will be taking it to the dealer, hopefully, next week.

As you can see the van has minimal mileage with multiple repairs. Reported directly via e-mail to Chevrolet. Also received a file number and sent copies of repairs directly to Chevrolet. The last e-mail was sent 5/23 because my van had a puddle of gasoline 2 ft wide and 1 1/2 ft long underneath it. Could have taken out children, home and van itself. Dealer claims it is a faulty gas tank. Will be replacing with new. Vehicle lives at dealer. Not enough space to tell the "legend of the lemon".
Funny smell of chemcals.

On December 30, 1999, I dropped my Chevrolet, Venture to puente hills Chevrolet dealer for regular maintenance. The dealer!/s technician found a hole in the air cleaner housing. Based on the dealer!/s diagnostics, the hole was burned by exhaust heat. Since the dealer had no part available, the technician just simply taped the hole as a fix. A few months later, the minivan!/s engine started to stall occasionally when the van was decelerated before the red light, left or right turn. I sent the van to glendora Chevrolet dealer twice, one was on March 12, 2001, and another was on may 15, 2001 with no success. Dealer was not able to duplicate problem, and did nothing (obviously, they didn!/t do enough testing). On October 14 of 2001, my wife got an accident due to the engine stall when she exited from a freeway. I sent the van to puente hill dealer next day, asking to check the engine stall problem and, at the same time, to replace the air cleaner housing. It took the dealer several days before they were able to duplicate the engine stall problem by the service man, mark fetterman, during his road test, but has no clue why the engine stalled. Eventually, the dealer found that the hole burned by exhaust heat was very close to an engine sensor and they guessed that the hole might cause the engine stall problem. The dealer!/s guess was correct. After a new air cleaner housing was installed on October 19, we never have the engine stall problem again.
