I have a Chevrolet Venture 1999 that has had an intake gasket leak. I have researched this problem on the internet and there have been many similar problems. Many service technicians have also stated that gm has had a problem with intake gaskets. Gm should recall all vehicles affected and pay repair bills on all others already fixed.
Intake gasket leaks.
Has 3. 4 l engine with lower intake gasket leaks. I purchased an extended warranty when new and it covered the $700+ repair cost. Will this happen again in another 48k when out of my extended warranty?.
When I bought this 2000 Chevrolet Venture van I purchased the mfg. Extended
warranty up to 75,000 miles. Right after the extended warranty ran out, the
van developed a serious head gasket leak and the transmission has been going
crazy. I checked around and found out that both these problems are very
common on the Venture van! I call the mfg. And was told they would not help!
this is the reason buyers feel that they made a mistake buying american made
vehicles. These are problems that have occurred in many instances and the
mfg. Knows this and are not willing to do a recall. I should have bought a
Toyota. General motors knows these problems exist and are due to poor
workmanship and do not care about owner loyalty or retaining their customer
base for future sales. Both of these problems are more widespread than
what is documented due to lack of reporting. . Please help!!!.

My 1999 Chevrolet Venture van experienced a problem with the intake gaskets leaking and thus causing the camshaft to snap in two while the car was being driven at 40 mph. This caused a immediate engine shutdown and loss of power steering and brakes. Had there been anyone behind me, I would most certainly been injured, as would anyone who would be sitting behind me. This is a serious safety matter and should be addressed accordingly. Ts.
Temperature gauge fluctuated up and down. Engine took long to warm up. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and dealer determined lower intake gaskets leaked. Dealer replaced intake gaskets.
