Chevrolet Venture owners have reported 14 problems related to instrument panel (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Venture based on all problems reported for the Venture.
The speedometer failed on the instrument cluster. Previously the fuel and temperature gauges have failed. Chevy does not seem to believe this to be the result of defective parts but that is attributed to operating the vehicle past 100,000 miles. The repair is estimated at $500 and is not guaranteed. I have noticed numerous complaints of instrument cluster failure but I have not seen if any action has been taken by Chevrolet.

The temp gauge in my 2004 chevy Venture shows to be hot all the time, although my mechanic says the vehicle is not overheating. Now the check brake fluid light is on and my mechanic says the brakes and brake fluid are fine. Both problems are being attributed to a possible instrument panel defecy.
Speedometer never drops below 55 mph when vehicle is standing still and has increased to 95 mph at times.

2004 chevy Venture. Fuel and temp gauges showing false readings. During a long cross country drive speedo started giving false readings making it hard to drive in traffic. Gauge bounces or sticks in one position or shows incorrect speeds.
The temperature gauge sticks once in a while. I was told that it's something in the gauges and to replace the entire thing which was quoted at $500 installed. . . Nope I will live with it I guess.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Venture. While driving approximately 60 mph on normal road conditions, the speedometer and temperature gauges displayed inaccurate readings regardless of the speed being traveled. The failures occurred without warning. An independent mechanic stated that the cause of the failure was related to the instrument panel cluster, which required replacement. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 75,000 and current mileage was 80,000.
Transmission shifting very hard to the point of actually making noise. The fuel gauge quit working about 3 years ago, it just goes back and forth to whatever it feels like. Crankshaft pulley separated at highway speed causing the belt to jump and tangle in everything, too the point of actually being pulled into the front main seal causing that to have to be replaced.

We currently own a 2004 Chevrolet Venture. The van has 58,000 miles at this time. The speedometer started jumping quickly on acceleration and deacceleration. From this it went to reading incorrectly and now has fallen down and will not read at all. We have not done anything to correct the problem at this time. However we were informed by a dealership that this was a problem on some of the Chevrolet trucks. We were told to wait and it might be placed on a recall list.
Cluster gauge not working properly. First while my husband was driving it looked as if the temp. Gauge was showing it was over heating. Further evaluation showed the cluster gauge was malfunctioning. A few months later while waiting for a replacement the speedometer has also began to either stop working or jumps around as if it is also malfunctioning.
In our 2000 chevy Venture the fuel gauge seems to randomly choose the fuel level it will indicate. It rarely seems to show what I would guess to be the actual fuel level. I even saw the gauge swinging back and forth a couple of times. It once resulted in my wife running out of gas while en route to picking up our children from school (while the gauge said there was more than half a tank).
- the contact had a number of stalling problems with the 2000 Chevrolet Venture minivan stalling. The contact stated that the minivan stalled at any given time. On one occasion the contact's vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle while driving 35 mph. When the vehicle stalled there was no prior indication of the vehicle losing power. He noticed that the vehicle decelerated and the instrument panel showed everything had lost power. The contact took the vehicle to the dealership on the first occasion and they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle. The dealership informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be tuned up. The contact stated that he was put on a waiting list for one week. He took the vehicle to a mechanic shop for the tune up. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to have the stalling problems. The contact stated that the mechanic shop replaced the fuel pump, fuel relay and the harness. The contact stated that he was no longer having any problems with the vehicle stalling. He stated that the dealership couldn't find what the problem was with the vehicle, but a mechanic shop was able to find the failure on the first attempt.
While applying the brake pedal the hazard lights turned on its own and the brake light failed. The abs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The driver will contact the dealer in the near future. The right tail light did not work properly, when the right turn signal on the brake pedal was applied, the directional signal flashed twice as fast as normal, but when the brake pedal was released, the directional signal flashed normal, also when the brakes were applied, both directional indicators on the instrument panel stayed on until the brake pedal was released, the abs and tcs warning light had come on and stayed on until it was reset, around the same time the blower for the heat and air conditioning lost both the first and second speeds, the door lock cycle was intermittent and the consumer was locked out of the vehicle, the power sliding door had become inoperative and the brakes failed many times.

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Venture. While driving at any speed, all of the dashboard lights dim. The vehicle operates normally, despite the failure. The vehicle has been inspected four times for the failure. The instrument panel was replaced, which corrected the failure temporarily. As of July 30, 2007, the failure still persists. The current mileage was 120,000 and failure mileage was 78,913.
