Aug 7th 2021, purchased 4 tires walmart, radar dimax as-8 size: 225/60r16. June 2023 tire badly separated. Denied warranty because walmart did not install. Purchase 2 more identical tires and picked up July 13th 2023 and installed both. Bad tire trashed no longer have in possession. Several months later had another tire separate so installed the extra tire I had. In March 2024 the wife told me the van was shaking again. Found two tires separating. One was from the newer purchase. Tried calling the manufacture numerous times (800) 725-1482 to let them know of the problems with their tires and possible safety. Received no responses. I have never in my life had tires like the separate. Had a couple trailer tires years ago but probable heavy load and older tires, so expected. I have since purchased some goodyear tires for replacement and currently have three of the separated tires and the one remaining good tire, which my wife will not let me install on anything she drives.

My daughter noticed that she was not able to keep air in one mastercraft a/s iv tires. As we looked at the tire together she heard air escaping, and when we touched the area of the leak, the leak got louder. I took it to the local farm & fleet (where the tires were purchased & installed as I have been told they are good at keeping up with warranties) to have it checked out. I was told that it has "dry rot", and I would have to buy another brand as the mastercraft a/s iv have been "discontinued", and I have no other recourse. I asked if they or I could file a complaint with the manufacturer, and was told no as the tires have been discontinued and are no longer manufactured. Further, I was told that only 25% of the tread remains. The tires were purchased 9/08/08 & only have approximately, 20,806 miles on them, but the manufacturer rates them at 50,000 miles. The low miles makes sense as we rarely put on more than 7k miles on any of our vehicles. I am concerned that this may be a manufacturing defect in the material of the tire(s).

While driving my 2004 chevy Venture van north on I-95, a mile north of the exit for FL hwy 100, at 70 mph, the entire tread separated totally from the left rear tire, causing $610 damage to the rear bumper. All four tires were on the van when I bought it new from the chevy dealer in Feb, 2004. The van had been on the dealer lot since Sep, 2003. All the tires on the van were firestone fr680 steel belted radial p215/70r15 with 43,165 miles on them. There was lots of tread left on the tires. Firestone said there was no recall on these tires and would do nothing. I had all four tires replaced the next day. The new tires were not firestone.
Heard pieces of tread hitting car. Tread separated at 65 mph just before complete failure. Able to steer to side on rim. Original equip with 35500 miles on 2002 chevy Venture. On inspection other 3 tires close to failure.

Firestone tires fr680, 215/70r15. Replaced the tires on the front of my vehicle at 25,000 miles due to severe flat spotting & steel chords showing. Rear tires fine. Chevy dealer confirmed no wheel alignment issues exist. The tires are defective and should be recalled, and should not be used as oem on chevy vehicles going forward. My front tires have been replaced with michelin with no wear issues, and no repairs being made in regards to alignments, etc.

Dramatic untreading of tire happened while driving on I-95 outside of savannah georgia. There was no warning and the vehicle became very difficult to control. I was able to slow down and stop in the emergency lane. Ts.
Original dot tire # was on tires the dealer replaced and we paid for. On both occasionsi was going slow when I heard noise of a tire going flat. I have bag the dealer gave to my husband that contains a portion of tire fragments and debris like it just peeled off. This car was purchased new and these were the original tires that came with the car. Luckily I was going slow and not on the interstate. There was a puncture on both tires but this could also be from the separation of the tread or driving on it til I could get off the road into a safe place. I would be glad to take a picture of the debris from the 2nd flat/blow-out . I had no trouble like this with my 1st chevy Venture and believe I should have had many more miles on them--now I wonder if the other 2 are going to go also.
Blowout not caused by external force such as puncture or hitting curb.

All 4 tires contained cracks.
Dry rot on both tires and belt shift on one. Serviced due to vibration in tire and defects found at that time. Tires were put on in may 2000 and had 35, 000 miles on them. Only 18 months old. (tiresize: p215/70r15).
While driving in rain heard a loud explosion, pulled off of road. Checked around vehicle. Noticed left rear tire had a long gash down middle and on outside by rim, and had came off. P215/70r15, firestone, 9755. Consumer also states that there was once a flat tire that had a chunk out of the middle missing, firestone has not given consumer any support.

We were on the freeway driving at the speedlimit of 70mph my dad said, he heard a funny sound so he attempted to pull over off the freeway there was many cars and longhaul truck approaching when the car just like it dropped and pulled us over almost causing us to get into an accident my dad got us safely to the side of the road ,and my husband and my dad got out to find the tires outside side wall had completely come out from the tire, this was the second time that this has happened to these tires, the first tire that this happened to the inside wall of the tire came out . This happened within a month of eachother . I am afraid to drive my van on the freeway, I feel these tires are very unsafe, the last time it happened we almost had an accident ,the van could have easily flipped over and we could have been killed. The tire dealerships that seen the tires said they had never seen anything like it before, the tires just came apart , the whole sides are just like someone ripped them right out. This should not happen to new tires, something is very wrong, when two tires do the same exact thing within a month of eachother, I think this says the tires are defective and unsafe. (dot number: acm3bli279 tiresize: p215).
Tread separated and wrapped around my rear axel. Disengaged abs system, feel very lucky to be here today. Was on my rim in seconds. Firestone not answering my calls. I have saved the tires. ( dot number: tire size: 215/70r15 ).

While driving east on 494 at 55 mph one of front firestone tires exploded. The car swerved all over the interstate but fortunately the traffic was light at that time so no accident occurred. The tire was shredded and needed to be replaced. A nearby gas station put on the spare and the next day I paid to have the pr680 replaced at a firestone dealer (store #016926-29f1 tr:8870 07 99) since then the other front tire needed to be replaced but the 2 rear tires are still original. From the newspaper pictures I've seen (e. G. 9-2-00 minneapolis star tribune business section) the tires on my Chevrolet minivan seem to be exploding just like those Ford tires recalled. ( dot number: fr 680 ).
Rear right tire repaired. Dota3mod81078 general ameri g4s.
