Driving on the road in motion, the engine shut down with no warning. Had it towed to shop where it started upon arrival (approx. 1 hour). No check engine light came. Ran engine scan and no codes came up. Diagnostic provided no information. Condition could not be repeated. Nothing was resolved. Happened several more times while in motion over the next 2 months. Sometimes on the freeway, some on a road. Always starts again after 45 minutes. Has been to multiple shops where nothing is diagnosed. Problem persists to this day. We installed an engine scanner to detect any codes given when engine quite. Codes are as follows: anti lock brakes code u0401 - active/mil - implausible data received from ecm/pcm and powertrain control module code p061c etc level 2 rpm performance.
While driving, the vehicle loses all power. Just shuts down. No warning. No warning lights. No code. No check engine light.
The car stalls when it slows down or comes to a stop (for example at a red light). So far, it starts up with no problem. However, I believe this is potentially dangerous if it stalls in heavy traffic. There is no check engine light and despite attempting a variety of fixes, so far nothing has solved the problem.

I have a 2011 Chrysler 200 2. 4l engine that over this passed week has stalled at least 8 times. Every time the vehicle will start to show signs of "lagging" and while at low speeds just shut off. I am currently a college student and rely on having a vehicle to drive, since I live 6 hours from home. Tonight I was on my way home and it stalled on me 4 times every time I would get about 100 yards and it would do it again, finally I got a safe place to park the vehicle and had to walk back to my apartment. Tomorrow I am having the vehicle towed to get it looked at. The check engine light does come on every time this happens but I go through the menu on the steering wheel and it always say "system: ok" so no warning code is popping up. Which I know when I take it to the dealership they are going to say they "cannot replicate the problem" and just send me on my way. But this is a very big problem the steering wheel locks up every time the vehicle powers off and one of the times it has done this I was in the middle of an intersection. I no longer feel safe driving my own car and after seeing all of the other complaints about this same problem I would like to see something happen about it.
Car stalled on the throbs neck expressway while sitting in heavy traffic. When I got the car started again it initially wouldn't move. When I did make off the highway the car shut off on me completely. I barely made ut back to new jersey in the car because the car struggled to accelerate & move all the way home. Check engine light is on as well as several other lights on the dash board. I had my entire family in the car that night (2 kids; husband & mother in law). I have been to the dealership 5 times to this issue & its not bern solved yet. This is my second complaint about this car to the NHTSA this time is more urgent because this car stalled in heavy traffic on a major highway this could've ended so badly.
This is the 2nd time this has happened in 11 months. (not sure of the exact date prior to most recent) was slowing to a stop, and once stopped, the car stalled. Both times it happened the check engine light "was not" illuminated. Everything on the dash appeared to work normally. Lights on, radio on, etc. I happened to feel the car rolling backwards, while stopped, and both times stood on the brakes to prevent the car from rolling back and striking the vehicle stopped behind me. (first time I actually thought I hit the car, but checked and did not see any damage) car restarted ok each time, and proceeded normally. In both instances, I was slowing to a stop (once from coming off the highway and stopping at a traffic light at the top of the exit ramp, and another time slowing to a stop from about 45 mph, on a city street) haven't notified the dealership (yet!) but became aware of this issue when I researched this on the internet. Add 1 more Chrysler 200 to the "stalling" issue! (canadian vehicle - ontario).
When at a complete stop or low speed vehicles kicks like it is going to stall. This has happened since the purchase of the vehicle it was taken to the dealership two times in the beginning and the service technicians were not able to find the problem or feel it hesitate. The car was taken twice once in 2012 then 2013 problem could not be found. I have had the car for three years and this problem comes and goes. On 08/31/2015 the car finally stalled out when I was going to enter the highway. The car completely shut off and I was able to turn it back on once it came to a complete stop. At this point the check engine light came on and I was able to drive the car to the dealership. The dealership has indicated it is the crank shaft sensor and a harness that needs replacement. They received several codes when hooked up to the diagnostic machine and were not able to determine what the problem was until two days after it was in the shop. This is a problem that has been going on since I first purchased the vehicle and am quite surprised that there is no recall since we do run the liability of being involved in a car accident by getting hit from behind due to the car hesitating when accelerating after a complete stop.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that she stopped the vehicle completely and it stalled. The contact also stated that the check engine light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact restarted the vehicle and it operated as normal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the pvc hose was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 12,000.
