4 different times, the car has just lost power while driving. I have had it to my mechanic 4 times and they cannot find an issue. This last time I was driving on the highway going 65mph and it just lost all power. I had to be pushed off the highway. This could have caused an accident. An hour later it started up and I drove it straight to my mechanic. It has happened 4 times in the last year.
Throttle body warning light went on, car hesitating when accelerating. Surging upon initial start in the morning.

My car keeps going dead for no reason, then starts up after five minutes.
My car only has 73,000 miles on it. I take excellent care of it. Last week I the engine started to just turn off while at a stop. No warnings, no indicators that something was wrong. The car will turn back on when I put it in park and restart engine by turning the key. I have recently seen online that this has been an issue with a lot of 200's. I feel Chrysler has sold a lot of people lemons. More importantly I'm concerned for my safety, the safety of my family, and safety of other I share the road with.
Takata recall last time I was driving on the freeway going 70 miles per hour and the vehicle suddenly lost power with a semi truck right behind me and I had to swerve off of the road to avoid being hit and nearly causing an accident I do not feel safe in this vehicle and I'm in fear for my life.
2013 Chrysler 200 3. 6l v-6 80,000 miles. During the 2018 winter in noticed my car was not coming up to running temperature and no t getting good heat out of the vents on drivers and passenger vents. I changed the thermostat and noticed a lot of grit and what looks like dirt in the antifreeze, but now the car comes up to running temperature and now I get good heat out of driver side vent but not out of the passenger side vent. I have been doing some reading on Chrysler 200 forums and I see a lot of complaints of the same problems I am having and saying the cause in is that the heater core is plugged and is about $900. 00 to $1200. 00 to fix. Is Chrysler going to cover the cost of the repairs? the cause of the heater core being plugged is when to blocks were being pored and machined leaving sand and other debris in the blocks because they were not cleaned properly.

My car starts right up but when I come to a stop the car dies but starts right back up. As I am coming to a stop it jerks forward like someone is pressing in the throttle. When I reverse it dies as well but starts up. If I take my foot off of the brake and guide it forward the rpm goes up then down and I can keep it at an idle. This is every time I drive the car and its getting worse. When I drive it jerks as well. Almost like it is having a hard time shifting.
My engine has cut off numerous times while turning as I was driving. When I try to restart the engine turns over but won't stay running. I have to let car sit for about 10 minutes then try again & it starts.
I have a 2013 Chrysler 200 with the pentastar tick. A known problem to be found in the 2011 to 2013 Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler. This issue comes from the cylinder head or in my case the camshaft rockers and lifters. These are known issues with the pentastar engine, to the point it has received the name the pentastar tick. A 150,000 mile warranty has been extended toward the cylinder, but as for the camshaft no extended warranty has been authorized. Since less consumers are affected by or report the camshaft issue, fiat Chrysler auto feels it is not liable. A problem they know exist but if it appears at the end of the 5 years/100,000 mile warranty and it does not include any life threatening issue for the car owner, they are not responsible for the pentastar engine.
Tl- the contact had a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving on a highway a vehicle in the rear of the contact alerted her to the fact that there was fire under the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road, the fire had errupted under the engine with high flames. Two fire trucks arrived, extinguished the flames and the insurance company towed the vehicle to a yard. A dealer was not contacted. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v034000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting to determine if they may investigate the cause of the fire. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

The heater coil has stop working on passengers side, from build up of sludge. It only blows hot air on driver side, not all the time. So I do not have a defrost to keep my windows clear so I do not good visibility. I have researched up on this issue and a lot of these cars have the same problem.
Engine stopped while waiting at red light and would not start back up. All lights radio ect. . Were working. Car had gas. Got a hotshot, car started back up. The next day go to start car and it wouldn't start. 2days work missed. Upset$?!!.
This motor and others like it have a bad lifter in them when built. These motors should be recalled and the bad lifter replaced.
Head rest deployed while driving on city strret, the engine also shut down while makeing a left hand turn and will not start back up this has caused every sensor light to come on as well. Prior to this incident, my that my automatic start and locks were not working and the headlights were really dim. I took it to autozone where it was assessed and they determined it was not the battery.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle shook violently and different warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. In addition, the contact noticed that the temperature gauge increased. The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed an abnormal sewage odor under the hood. I was driving straight on the highway my cars engine lost all power. Lights still worked, it just wouldn't run, I got my car brand new less then 5 miles on it, it wont run now wont turn over wont do anything. Dealership claims that they have never heard of this happening. Now I have a car sitting in my driveway good for nothing other then a thirty thousand dollar paper weight can anyone please help.
Ok. . So let me vent here. I first bought my car this year. (March) and they let me take my car for a night to see if I would like the car. They had a 2013 Chrysler 200 lx 2. 4cyl. Or a 2014 Chrysler 200 limited 3. 6v6 the 2013 had 37k the 2014 had 21k. I wanted the 2014 but when they asked about it. It was already sold. . . I didn't know that. So I went for the '13 lx. Drove it off the lot for a test drive. Drove just fine. Got back to the dealer. Signed a paper and left with it from the dealer for the night. Well on my way home. I thought would go out of my way a little bit for a little extra drive. (keep in mind I had a full tank from the dealer) lol! something I requested. Because when I test drove it. It was on e. And gas light was on. But back to the point. While going out of my way. I stopped to get pizza. And left my car running. All lights were on. I'm sitting inside waiting for my pizza. Since I called it in before hand. Got my pizza. Come out to my car. And I stopped in my tracks. And thought. Hmm. I could have swore I left my car running. Like wtf. And my headlights and everything was still on! and then I thought. Oh shit. . . I got into my car. Everything is on. Ac (which of course wasn't cold air since engine wasn't running) and all my lights were on. And I knew as soon as I got into my car and the rpm's are on 0 and everything is still on. I sat there for a minute. In shock and disappointment. Turned my key back. And turned it back and it fired right up. So I was upset but didn't think much of it. Called my dealer and they told me they would take care of it. Took it in and they gave me a loaner while they "fixed" it. Got it back and didn't happen after that. Now it just started again today. Bout a month worths of time. . . I'm sick of this. My car only has 45k now. And I got it with 37k. . . Taking my car in once again. This is going to kill somebody. . . Stay safe.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact started the vehicle and it jerked. The vehicle was driven and it was hesitant to accelerate. The failure occurred fifteen times. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the pressure in the catalyst was causing the transmission fluid to get dirty and causing the transmission not to shift out of gear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving 35 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate and the rpms increased. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who repaired the vehicle under an unknown recall; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,129.
On approximately 7/14/15, upon accelerating from a stopped position, my Chrysler 200 hesitated on take off. I had to take my foot off the gas pedal and slowly try accelerating again, still with hesitation, but finally taking off. There was slight hesitation as my vehicle was accelerating, then the fuel seemed to catch up. This has occurred several times randomly since 7/14/15. I took my car to the dealership on 7/23/15 as it is still under manufacturers warranty, explained the situation, and they said they found no problems, that "no codes" showed up on the computer. This problem appears to effect the engine, fuel/propulsion system and speed control. I was very concerned each time this happened of being involved in a car accident. I will continue to be concerned until this problems is resolved. I intend to take it back to the dealership for further investigation into this problem.
We filed a complaint for this issue previously and the same problem has occurred again. Will take to dealer when they open tomorrow to have diagnosed. Called Chrysler and spoke to paul, who stated that we need to call back after the dealer has a chance to look at the issue. Chrysler # 1-800-247-9753 previous complaint listed below: date complaint filed: 07/28/2013 component(s): power train date of incident: 07/26/2013 NHTSA id number: 10532198 all products associated with this complaint expand details close 0 associated documents crash:no fire:no number of injuries:0 number of deaths:0 manufacturer: Chrysler (fca us llc) vehicle identification no. (VIN): 1c3ccbbbxdn. . . Summary: I started the 2013 Chrysler 200 and shifted the transmission into "drive". With my foot still on the brake pedal, I checked the mileage on our new car and it read 139 miles. I could feel the transmission engage then I felt what seemed to be a second engagement before I took my foot off the brake. As soon as I began driving I noticed the vehicle was not shifting out of first (1st) gear. I stopped the car and shifted through park, neutral and manual in an attempt to free up the transmission but when I started driving again it still would not transition out of first (1st) gear even when put in the manual shift mode. I drove it directly to the dealer without turning off the vehicle, and after a test drive they confirmed that it was not shifting but stated they could not find a code indicating any problem. They restarted the vehicle and it began to function normally again. The dealer said there was nothing they could do, and to bring it back if it happened again.
The engine don't have the power . I have to put my foot on the accelerator really hard for it to get the power. . . It's loud it doesn't run smooth. I was never satisfied with the way it runs. . . And now that I've seen the video of what could happen I'm afraid of it.
