This vehicle build date indicated August 2015 and it was sold as a 2016 vehicle. I have had constant problems with the service air bag system light coming on since 2016, 2017 and 2018 and I have called Chrysler at 1 800 853 1403 to report the problem. I have gone to the dealership to get fixed and a few months later the issues continues. Chrysler say there is no recall on this vehicle. This is dangerous. The vehicle is in motion when the service airbag system light comes on.

The airbag warning lamp is stuck on due to a faulty wiring issue in which the system may or may not work properly in the event of a accident and or may go off due to hard breaking. This problem has been known about for a while as stated in the technical service bulletin. At least three different vehicles ranging in years from 2014 to current have had this same issue. The vehicle began having this problem while driving down the road. When taking my vehicle into be repaired this issue didn't pop up when at the dealership. Upon getting my vehicle home the airbag lamp began appearing. I returned my vehicle back to the repair shop/dealership to which I was told there was not a Chrysler tech available and they would not be able to service my car. After taking my vehicle in today I was told the news about the airbag system. My warranty coverage won't cover this issue due to it being a safety matter. My airbag lamp is on at least 90% of the time while I am driving with and with out passengers.

My right passenger air bag senor is malfunctioning, however the dealership cannot tell me why or how the senor was broken. I see that there was a recall on some Chrysler vehicles that were made in 2015 which mine was, but they claim my car is not eligible for the recall. Washington � fiat-Chrysler is recalling 78 2015 Chrysler 200 sedans to fix a problem that affects the front passenger seat and airbag, according to the national highway traffic safety administration. "during service work, the affected vehicles may have had either the occupant classification module or the seat cushion foam of the front passenger seat replaced instead of both pieces together, which make up a complete calibrated set," NHTSA said in its recall summary. "if both pieces were not replaced together, the occupant detection and classification system may not be properly calibrated and the passenger airbag may improperly deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. " there are no accidents or injuries linked to the recall, fiat-Chrysler spokesman eric mayne told edmunds. The affected 200 sedans were built from April 7, 2014 to August 3, 2015. At 49,500 miles my 2016 Chrysler 200 "service air bag" came up on the panel. The dealer states that it is a passenger side harness and will need to be replaced. It is not part of any recall and not part of the extended warranty purchased. How does an airbag harness fail in 2 years. Sound more like a defect.

I've had several issues with the airbag warning light coming on telling me to service the airbag. While the car was covered under the warranty the dealership replaced the part at least three times and eventually told me to stop digging under my driver seat as the wiring harness for the air bags was located there. As anyone with kids may know that isn't the easiest thing to do. Bit even more alarming is the fact that if there is an accident my airbags may malfunction since the warning light is on. And the cost to get it fixed it way to high for me to pay especially knowing that it's just going to happen again in a few months since it's already been replaced a number of times.

(sj dealer info/fire?) tl the contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. While driving 5 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. None of the air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to hinsey's wrecker services (located at 2416 cass st, fort wayne, in 46808; (260) 483-4913). A police report was filed. The contact sustained a contusion of the neck, finger, and chest wall, an abrasion of the left thumb, and a paresthesia of the upper extremity. Medical attention was required. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 10,825.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. While traveling 45 mph, the driver crashed into the preceding vehicle that had a trailer hitch. None of the air bags deployed. The driver sustained neck pains, which required medical treatment. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a yard and inspected by a repair facility. The vehicle was also towed to bay Dodge, 634 w 15th st, panama city, FL 32401, 850-819-7615). The manufacturer sent a technician who indicated that the impact did not warrant air bag deployment. The vehicle was extensively damaged. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, stated that there were no air bag recalls, and did not provide a solution. The failure mileage was not available.

The dash board has been showing since 2017 -2018 "service airbab systeem with the red airbag sign lit. The sign comes and goes. It has been taken to dealers 3 times and not corrected. Chrysler has been called at the 18008531403 number. Now the dealer want to charge me since it is 2,ooo miles over warranty for this defective vehicle. The build date of this vehicle is August 18, 2015. There was a recall with same issue for build dates April 7, 2014 to August 3, 2015. This is unfair since this car was buiilt during the time . A recall is necessary on these cars too! this is a safety hazard for my family. The cost should be born by Chrysler.
