At 80,000 miles a oil leak became very noticeable. The rear main oil seal was destroyed. Due to the oil leak the front belly pan(68102931ab) became a dangerous hazard. I left my home, in my vehicle which had been running completely normally with no dash lights on, overheating, leaking, etc. I live on a dangerous road (it's extremely curvy, dark, has a high accident rate and no shoulders just 12ft. Deep concrete ditches on both sides. I left home around 9:35pm and made it approx. . 5-1 mile and braked slightly to take a sharp curve, and with no warning my engine stalls completely (also causing loss of power steering). I was doing roughly 25-30 mph. When the engine died. The loss of power steering caused me to be unable to keep my vehicle safely in my lane on this sharp turn (I was just lucky that the oncoming lane was clear). Luck is also all that prevented me from breaking down awkwardly positioned right in a dark blind curve. I was able to coast on what little speed I had left, to one of the only safe pull offs on my road ( I barely had enough momentum to do that, and it was just by chance that I was by the spot where it was possible to get out of the roadway. I have seen well over 50 online complaints so far, of owners of 2012 Chrysler 200's who have suffered failures practically identical to mine. My vehicle had been in for regular maintenance/oil change just a week or so prior to this, the inspection revealed no issues needing attention. The car runs perfectly normal right up to the moment you loose all power and your ability to steer with any precision or speed. This problem is obviously fairly common in this vehicle, seriously impairs your ability to control the car suddenly and without warning, causes no check engine warning therefore no error code to diagnose by, and depending on your circumstances and luck at the time could either cause a giant inconvenience or a serious tragedy. Chrysler already recalled for a nearly identical issue but only included the 2015 models. They need to address this before someone dies.

Air bags lights comes on indicating that there is a problem with the passenger seat. It has only came on after I have had a passenger in the passenger seat and on my instrument panel there's a red warning light that that air bag is not operational according to the dealership at jeff wyler east gate in batavia ohio 45102 513-7523447. I also had to put the same 200 s in the shop for a massive oil leak that once I noticed it and then had it checked by a Chrysler service advisor there was no oil in the 3. 6 l engine and I was told it was a common issue with the 3. 6l engine that there was a TSB or something on it so I dropped it of at the above mentioned location to find out my warranty would cover the problem that it was the oil cooler cracked and I would have to pay the $200 lifetime warranty I had on the car. The other issue was there's a engine light on that indicated that the cooling system was malfunctioning which I had mentioned to the dealer when I bought the car or the sweet bungent odor that I smelled coming out of my vents at 5 miles when I bought it I was told that it would go away by 50 miles on my odometer and now at 66700 it's back and was notice by the discount tire shop tell me they smelled a strong coolent leak and I mentioned it to the dealer and they wanted to charge me more money to find if there was a issue that that had already told me was there after I bought the car at 5 miles and would go away at 50 ! to be honest I just believe I got use to it!!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200s. While driving, all the oil leaked out from the vehicle. The oil reservoir had been filled up two days prior to the failure. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to mchugh Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat (740-868-1719, located at 3420 maple Ave, zanesville, OH 43701) where it was diagnosed that the adapter housing needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 135,000. The VIN was not provided.
Had a constant leak of oil. Took it in to the dealer and it was the oil cooler gasket housing that had a leak due to a crack or defective gasket housing. The oil cooler had to be replace. I have heard that this is a common problem with the year and engine model by other mechanics. Had to replace the oil cooler.
On December 8th, the vehicle had turned off on me while in motion. It gave me a slight chance to pull over. This has happened 3 times since December 8th. 2 more times before that date in 2017 (the same year I got this car) turns out there was no oil left in my car, even those my dash board said there was 34% of oil left. I took the car to my mechanic to figure out why the oil was running out so fast. Whether there was a leak or something. Turns out the piston rings in the car are bad, to fix this he said the engine would have to be taken part fully and fixed which could also show more underlying issues. (if any).
My car has shut off 3 times just this week while driving. Each time I was idling at a street light. The dash says to put car back in park and then it takes a couple of tries to restart it. Took it to the dealer they said I have no oil. But I just had an oil change not too long ago and I have no leaks. This car is consuming way too much oil. No warning light came on that I was low on oil. I was in a yielding left hand turning lane when the car shut off 2 of the 3 times. If it had happened a few seconds later I could have been t-boned with my son in the car on that side. Very dangerous!!!!! this should be recalled.
My vehicle just leaked all the oil completely. I know a significant oil leak checked the oil and their was absolutely nothing. I sent it in for repairs and it happened to be a broken oil cooler. My big concerns is if the oil wasn't cooling right/transferring I wonder what effect sit had on my engine. For a three year old vehicle that's a huge and sad defect.

At about 18,000 miles, a large puddle of oil suddenly formed underneath my car on the garage floor. The dealer identified the source of the leak as the engine oil cooler/housing mounted on top of the engine. The solution was to replace the whole unit. The exact source of the leak was not identified, but replacing the unit solved the problem. An internet search indicates others have had a similar problem with their pentastar engines (Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles). . Read more...
Malfunction light came on during date of purchase. Tech said that it was due to the battery being jump started. Light came on again, and code came back as smoke signal. . . I was told that the smoke test passed. Took car to another dealership. They kept the car for five days and found the following errors: seal for the trans filer missing, leaking esim. The problems were stated as fixed. However to date, hot oil message is coming on. Also the car is cutting off shortly after engine is started. Car rattles when at a stop light and then shuts off.
