1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

In the past 3 years the active grille shutter had to be fixed 3 times. The check engine light would always come up for this issue after it was stationary or parked over night and then the light would come up when it was time to drive again. Finally the dealership fixed the the problem they said the transmission needed to be fixed. After the transmission was fixed my car now overheats after being idle for more than a few minutes. Also the passenger air bag sensor was fixed twice but lit up on my dashboard recently again.

First I received the wheel sensor warning. Then the air bag warning. Then a vape leak issue, and now my dash lights are going completely out making it impossible to detect speed. My car has approximately 140,000. My vehicle is in motion when this electrical issue occurs. I have been on both a highway and interstate, and driving straight during the blackout. It has occurred multiple times in the last few days. The electrical issue may be related to this recall: Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured January 7, 2014, to September 23, 2014. The affected vehicles may have a power distribution center (pdc) electrical connector that may cause intermittent power failures to certain electrical components.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2016 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 08/02/2018

Service airbag system notice on dashboard. 4th event over 2 year period. Current mileage 25000. Dealer has now repaired wiring connections on front passenger side (twice). Sensor area near front left headlight, and front drivers side squib 2 circuit connector, though code thrown this time was for left side seat deployment squib 1. I am concerned that with so many areas of the system failing due to improperly installed or defective connections, that the system is likely to fail in in a crash when most needed! faults occurred both while vehicle was stationary and in motion. Location and direction of travel were random when faults occurred.

12 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/07/2018

I live in arizona and went out to my car to leave work yesterday. It was 101 degrees outside and the temperature reading inside the car was 110. When I turned the car over to leave there was an alert saying that the air bags need to be serviced. I have never seen this before. It went off as the car was cooling down but then came back on then off. The temp went to 101 and has not come on again as of today. I am concerned that it can either be the sensor getting hot or the actual air bags. The risk could be that the air bags could deploy when I am not driving or while I am driving. Or not deploy at all if I was ever in an accident.

17 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2015 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/27/2017

The "service air bag system" constantly comes on and off. Some times it stays on for days. Sometimes it just constantly turns on and off continually dinging. Its very frustrating. It doesn't matter if I am idle, or driving. There is no rhyme or reason to when it turns on and off. I have had it serviced at the dealer 3 times now. They tell me its just a sensor or wiring but it still continues to happen. I bought the car in may and this is December and I am still dealing with this all the time.

"takata recall" as I was driving down highway. I heard a safety ding and I noticed my air bag saftey light was on. 21 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 11/15/2016

I received a recall notice in Nov. 2016 that my car "may experience a loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability during a crash due to a shorting condition resulting in a negative voltage transient that travels to the occupant restraint controller via the front impact sensor wires". It also states in bold type "the potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury in a crash". I registered online to be notified when the part for repair is available, and as of may 12, 2017 the part needed for repair is still not available! this is ridiculous and dangerous and I am extremely angry at Chrysler's lack of concern in making this repair available for my vehicle, as well as the safety of family and myself!.

Parking brake sensor is faulty. Dashboard says parking brake is on. However I reset the park and light on dash should go off. Doesn't. Seat belts alarm stays on when seat belts are all clicked closed. Faulty. Air bag for passenger seat always says broken & not working, therefore if in a accident I can sue Chrysler for injuries because air bag won't deploy. Transmission shifting is jerky and not smooth. Faulty needs to be recalled for these 4 items.

25 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

For 6 months Chrysler has not had parts to correct this very important recall, and their failure to do so could result in my injury or death in an accident (exact wording from their own website here:) the vehicles may experience loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in certain crash events due to a shorting condition resulting in a negative voltage transient that travels to the occupant restraint controller via the front impact sensor wires. 26 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 07/20/2016

Airbag sensor light keeps coming on intermittently. I took to dealership, they said would be fee for doing sensor check. We called Chrysler dealership and they said it was not under recall. I took to advance auto and they ran a sensor check for free for me and they said there were "zero" issues or problems which is not right because the light and dinging come on intermittently every few minutes when driving. What is strange is that it only happens when my husband is driving the car. When I drive it, it doesn't happen. The lady at the dealership said it was strange, but that the transmission recognizes different people driving and tries to adjust for it and maybe that was it? the other dealers said that was something they'd never heard of. Meanwhile, they say there is nothing they can do if there is no sensor light appearing when I take it in, or not showing up on the error report from the scan. So, I am stuck with driving a car that constantly dings, lights come on, and when I read the manual it said "take to the dealership immediately if this happens!". It is scary, especially when I have my children and grandchildren in the car, to worry whether my airbag is going to explode at any given time without notice. I would sincerely request Chrysler take care of this issue.
