Air Bag Light On Problems of Chrysler 200 - part 1

Bought my car a little over two years ago from a local pre owned car dealership, soon after my passenger airbag light came on, their mechanic wouldn't fix it without trying to charge me even though I'm supposed to have a 4 year warranty. It's still not fixed after two years, I just can't afford it, and now I'm finding out there was a recall previously for the issue and I don't think it was ever fixed but they said it was. I have no idea what to do, it's extremely unsafe and I can't afford any kind of repair, I've been absolutely duped by this dealership and im frightened for my safety and the safety of my loved ones when I drive. The dealership could kill my loved ones and I don't know what to do about it.

My headrests were replaced due to a recall however, once they were replaced my check airbag light has come on and will not go off. I was brushed off and told that it would turn off after a day or so. It has not and now I'm being told (by the dealership) that I can bring it in however, I'll be charged $500. 00 to repay and replace. I had no issues or indication prior to my headrest being replaced leading me to believe that this is no fault of my own. This is a safety hazard and the lack of concern from dealerships service department has been not only disheartening but had me very concerned about the safety of my family and myself serving my only means of transportation in fear that should I be an accident, will my airbags deploy.

One minute the airbag light will be on then the next it will be off. It's something with the passenger side every time someone sits there or move the passenger seat. It continues to go on and off. I have searched on the internet for any recalls but didn't see any. I did notice that other people are also having problems with this on either both, or just one side of the car. It's not just me having a problem with the airbag. I think this should be a safety hazard and needs to be recalled to be fixed.

Have had car less than a year. Air bag lights constantly come on and I have to get it repaired - light is on while driving and while stopped. Light came in the day I got the car as I was leaving the lot and they refused to do anything for it. Also the car keeps stalling. Had the battery replaced and alternator checked, which is running almost like brand new. The car still stalls while driving it with no warning signs at all. No lights are on it will just happen, again, with no warnings. Everything gets locked up and I can't even put the car in neural to back it out from the middle of the street. The car can barely handle highway speed limit of 70, the bumps or groves in the road almost feel like it's pushing the car and it will spin out (this is in dry warm weather). I've checked the tires they are fine. The entire suspension is bad and needs replaced. The charging systems for your phones don't always work, it's off and on. The chargers work just fine in the house so it's not the cords itself. Was shown the carfax before buying and there are no accident reports.

Vehicle, even after repair continues to have front-passenger airbag light. Even after oil levels are changed and maintained, cabin and air filters changed, vehicle continues to stall even after servicing (both paid and under warranty) Chrysler has not resolved the issues that harbor my vehicle and offer no solution. Temp/engine light issue came on during highway travel. Stalling usually occurs on city and residential streets. Both in motion.

The service air bag light came on a couple month out of no where at first it would come off and on now it's on constantly.

My air quit working and the air bag light has been on for a year. I have taken my car to several places and cannot find whats wrong with the air bag light that will not go off. I have bought a control moduler for the blowing air which I was directed to buy by a part dealership and still nothing. I am worried that my air bags do not work properly and also it is winter and no hot air still after buying a three hundred dollar piece plus the price of the mechanic for putting it in.

My airbag light has come on and stayed on. It has stayed on since it came on and has not went off.

Air bag light won't go out. My car also will not accelerate over 40 mph.

At times, but it's happened at least 12 in the past 10 months, there is away that a person can sit in the passenger side seat or sometimes by adjusting it that will make the airbag light come on. All I have to do is reach underneath the seat and jiggle the wires a little and it goes off. It occurs at different times.

I had the car only 1year and half air bag light went on cause me 1800 dollars to fix,im only driving local. The other one is jerking trans twice to fix replace part cost 100.

Air bag light and check engine light is on also a electrical light comes on it looks like it's saying the engine it to hot but I am not sure exactly it comes on almost right after starting car.

When I purchase the vehicle the airbag light was on and haven't went off yet and I had the vehicle since September 2020. Also when it rains for a long period of time and I use my wind shield wipers they will not go off I have to take the fuse out for them to stop for a couple of days. I've spoke with the place I got the car from and they started that the warranty doesn't cover the issues that the car previously had before I purchased it within the 30 days I purchase the car as well.

My airbag light continues to come on stating that I need to service my airbag system. It will stay on for awhile, and then shut off for approx 2-4 weeks, and then turn back on again. Today I was driving my car, and when I got to a stop sign my car kind of sputtered, and then turned off stating I need to put my car in park, and push the start button. This seems to happen when my car says "oil change required". Pretty scary, because I don't know if this will happen when im driving on the highway.

On multiple occasions since I purchased my vehicle in 1/2018 I've experienced issues. When putting the vehicle in drive it wants to stall as soon as I press the gas and putters along until it gets enough energy and when trying to gain speed the vehicle doesn't have enough juice to go such as getting on the highway, I normally have to drive in the medium to get enough speed to move into the traffic otherwise I'm bound to get rear ended. The slightest bump in the road causes my airbag light and notification to come on. While pulling away from stop signs and traffic lights the vehicle turns off and takes about 5-10 minutes to start back up , unable to move steering wheel to move vehicle out of traffic. Lights on the inside ( dash, radio) dim extremely low during daylight unable to see anything. Ive left my vehicle with a Chrysler dealership for 2 weeks to get a diagnostic and they couldn't replicate or find anything wrong and still charged me. When the problems persisted and were more noticeable and more often they charged me again with no results. Now the check engine light is on and vehicle just staggers instead of gaining speed.

My service air bag light has come on several times in the last 3 years of me owning this car. Regardless of being in motion or parked. I have taken it in to a dealer and even they said they receive this problem far too much and said I will have to come back for them to clear the code. Olease repair this before it cost my life or someone else's.

I got a 2013 Chrysler 200 from mega auto outlet in stafford,va. 3-30-20 and tried to take it back to mega auto outlet. I called the dealership the next day about why there wasn't a inspection sticker on the windshield and why was there some much noise from the rear. The salesman then told me that there was a inspection sticker on the windshield and told him there wasn't and I was going to bring the car back because it was illegal to sell a car without a inspection sticker. But he refused to take the car back and said to me if I was to bring the car back that the police would there and not to to bring car back. I took to local garage to find out what was wrong with the car because it was making noises in the rear of car and the airbag light was on. I found tout that there was all kinds of problems with the 2013 Chrysler 200 and it was unsafe to drive. I don't know what else to do?.

The seat belt indicator stays on. Code u0001 only occurred at in & out inspections. Code u1504 steering angle sensor 3/2020.

My seat pops out sometime when driving. It happens anytime whether in motion or stationary hence the airbag light is on.

The parking brake activates without touching it. I thought I was probably hitting it on accident but I'm no where near it. It's really scary. When I'm slowing down the car will accelerate on its own and the airbag light comes on and off.

Vehicle went in for an airbag light twice right before the extended warranty expired at 75k miles. The dealership claims to have replaced a wiring harness under the passenger seat both times. Just slightly over 75k miles, the light came on again. This time they advised the whole wiring system needs replaced and that it won't be covered. Got in touch with Chrysler directly who stated they are willing to only pay for the $1200+ part but that I would be responsible for approximately $400 in labor. Vehicle was in motion each time the light came on. Typically when encountering a slight bump on the interstate. Safford Jeep Chrysler ram in winchester va is the dealership the vehicle was purchased new and continued service at the same location. The vehicle has been in for 2 weeks now and currently there at this time. According to a brief internet search, this seems to be a common complaint yet no recalls have been issued. If this can be settled in any manner, I respectfully request that Chrysler provide a refund for what I'm about to pay to get my vehicle back up and running.

The headlights will cut out as im driving. . Sometimes one side first then both. . Or both st the same time. . As im driving the air bag light comes on and off on its own my tpms light will come on and some days it won't show the psi in the tire on the dash.

The air bag light service indicator light would come on intermittently along with an alarm sounding every few minutes while driving one week after purchasing the car. We took it to the dealership and they �fixed� the connection only to have the airbag indicator light come on again. Took it to a different dealership who said the wiring and airbag jumpers need to be replaced at a cost of $3200 or the airbags won't work.

I bought my car in September 2019 around 25000 miles. In October the service airbag light came on . I took it to Chrysler and Jeep who charged over $3300 to fix . They said they talked to Chrysler who would cover $3000 and I had to pay the $300. I did that and the light is back on. It pops up ever couple minutes while I'm driving and it doesn't matter if I'm going 15 mph or 60 mph.

I do not have an takata recall letter, however my airbag light goes on and off as I am driving. There is no recall for a sensor or anything concerning the light, so I have to contact Chrysler to see how to handle the situation.

Dash airbag light stays on and the front axle is grinding and when turning the steering wheel right or left is a knocking sound from the tire.

While stationary the car steering wheel shakes really bad. While in motion the car jerks. Without pushing on break. The car takes a long time to get a little speed you have to mash the gas peddle. The air bag light stays on.

The car jercks often. And makes a wired noise and the mileage light blikks on and off non stop. Airbag light is on.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200. While stopped at a red light, the driver's side head rest inadvertently deployed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact sustained a minor headache that did not require medical attention. Galeana Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat (14375 s tamiami trail, fort myers, FL 33912) was contacted and the vehicle was awaiting diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,027.

Current airbag light is on and dealer says it isn't covered under warranty but that it may or may not malfunction. Total cost for repair is $2500. They say it's an issue with closed loop feedback.

As I have owened the car for over a year now, have not had any issues besides the airbag light coming on. This happened today as my wife was taking my son to daycare. This is an issue I have seen among theese cars and needs to be addressed. I have a 1 year old and I would be sueing if he were to get injured by the system caused from poor manufacturing. Please have this issue fixed.

Airbag light comes on intermittently and I had it to the dealer once who stated it was a seat wiring issue and fixed it. . . So I thought, now 3 months later the light is back on intermittently and the estimate to fix it is over $ 3,000 because 2 airbags need to be replaced/fix. My understanding is that there are older 2015 Chrysler 200 models that have a recall to fix this same problem but Chrysler hasn't and won't extend it through all the 2015 Chrysler 200 models. It is a safety issue and if it is happening still in the same year later models, don't you think they never resolved the issue and kept building cars knowingly?? hmmmm.

Vehicle shuts off randomly while driving and sending a message to put in park and restart vehicle. Several message lights come on that indicate there is an issue with the electrical components. Also, the service airbag message comes on every few seconds and airbag light stays on.

My husband got was leaving work today 6/12/19 and pull out from his job to enter traffic but once he was straight in the lane the car began to slow down so he had to pull into a gas station to try and get back started which took about 5 mins of the car winding before it started. So when he got home I had to take my daughter to summer camp and as soon as I made a right turn onto the street and acceralted the car began to shut down again and took about 15 mins in a highly traffic area before it restarted but now the air bag light is stuck on and a warning engine wait light also came on before the car started.
