The car randomly stalls while I am driving it. I lose all power to the car and the rpm's go to zero. I have to jiggle the fuse box and turn the key to the on position until I hear the fuel pump kick on, then I can start the car. I can tell when the car will stall on me when the rpm's fluctuate and the car stutters. My safety is put at risk to me and to other people because my car loses power while I am driving it. I lost power to the car four times this morning alone and almost got smashed by a 5th wheel truck. I have lost power on the freeway while my children were in the car with me. My husband is a mechanic and he thinks it is the fuse box that needs to be replaced.

The engine stalls without warning. The car is available for inspection upon request. There are no warning lamp messages or other symptoms before the engine stalls.

I had just purchased my vehicle on 03/06/2024. A few days after purchasing my vehicle, the check engine light came on. I took it to autozone to get the check engine light code read and see what the issue was. The code showed a cylinder 4 misfire. I purchased and replaced replaced the spark plugs, egnition coils, a sensor and cleaner for fuel injectors and throttle body. After I replaced the different parts, it was still showing the check engine light. I took it to bi o tires and they had the code read and told me it had a cylinder 4 misfire. They told me to take it to tunex because they were not able to fix it there. I took it to tunex and they did a diagnostic to see the reason it was misfiring and told me that the car wasn't misfiring and that the vehicle was fine. They turn the check engine light off and after a couple of days the check engine light came on. I took it to the Chrysler dealership to get it checked, they told me that they were going to check it and fix a recall issue on it, and that if the check engine light came on, they didn't know what to do. The check engine light is back on.

Put a full tank of gas in car and when I got home I noticed that there was a fuel leak on the tank.

While backing up in my parking space, my car completly shut off. The steering was locked and the car would not start back up. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to restart.

For the past three months my car shuts off while driving for no reason without warning. Some times even when I am at a stop waiting for light to change while trying to accelerate to go it just shuts off and have to wait for some time to try to start it again. This problem started around may of 2023 and I have not found a solution. Replaced fuel pump based on a article I read on line, but problem continued as of today 11-23-2024.

After starting the vehicle and going from reverse to drive the vehicle stalls out. After the initial stall and traveling a few miles, while stopping at a traffic signal the vehicle stalls out again and more times than not can accelerate at a speed higher than prompted. This is a frequent occurrence and other owners of the same make model and year that I have spoken with have the same issue.

While driving the car is in process. . The engine will suddenly stop (stall). I loose all power to the car and is unable to stop the car or control the speed or any other functions of the car. The only way to stop the car immediately is to manually use the emergency breaks. My 3. 6 liter engine is having the same engine defect as the 2. 4 2000 Chrysler 200 engine n52. . . Causing it to malfunction. Also sometimes when trying to start the car while turning the key in the ignition the engine begin to flood on its on and get completely stuck in that position. . And become unable to process to start and run. For about a year and a half I have been back and forth to the auto mechanic paying so much money trying to figure out what is going on with my car. Unable to fix of com up with a solution. My car has been more undrivable,in the shop and and unsafe then it has been driven. The last time I was driving my car with my [xxx] [xxx] child in the car the engine power failed and I was unable to stop . . We where coming on a 4 way traffic light going at full speed. . My light had turned red. Nothing I would do would stop or slow the car down. I'm so happy my child knows to pull the emergency breaks. . . He saved our life. This has happened multiple times b4 this last time but never to this extent. It seems the longer this issue is going the worst it's becoming. I began doing research on Chrysler 200 to see if anyone one else may have been having this issue to hopefully find a solution. Because this is my only car and I have put everything I have into this to get this car and to fix this car. . When I looked in to recalls I found that the 2. 4 liter engine for the 2000 Chrysler 200 was having the same engine defect as my 2013 Chrysler 200 3. 6 liter engine. . . So I would like to make a vehicle complaint about my car's engine defect causing the engine to malfunction which is a safety issue. My car will die sometimes upon acceleration and does not restart for up to an hour sometime. No check engine light comes on. From my research online, a lot of people are having the same issue and are reporting it to be a faulty pcm (powertrain control module). My rpm drops to zero and I have to coast to the shoulder of the road. It happens at least once a week.

The vehicle repeatedly stalls out when coming to a stop or when sitting at a stop light or in traffic, and has also shut off while driving at higher speeds on the freeway. This has put myself and passengers in danger, as power steering goes out when the engine is off and braking becomes much harder. The car will not turn back on if the problem occurs at higher speeds, but will turn back on if it occurs at lower speeds and stops. I have taken the car to several shops and they have confirmed this is an issue but cannot pinpoint what exactly is causing it, which has gotten to be very costly. I have yet to take it to the dealership for their insight into the issue. There are no warning lights on the dash, and the only slight codes I have in the system are unrelated to the way the car would drive as explained by the mechanics at the shops I have taken it to.

I will be driving at the speed limit and the vehicle engine will turn off. Power steering and control of the vehicle will stop. The car will not restart leaving me stranded on the road. This appears to be an issue that others are reporting. There is no check engine light or any notification that the engine is about to stop.

Car stalls when starting from a stop. If the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees f, it seems worse. There are no warning lights, no codes. . . It just stalls out. It will usually start after trying once (it takes at least 20-30 seconds of trying to start before it does). I was pulling from a redlight to a 4 lane road when it stalled. I had no where to go. When I first purchased the car, I took it to the dealership 3 times, they said it was a transmission problem at first, then spark plugs, and the third time they couldn't find anything. September 30th was the last time this has happened, but not the first. If I start the car 15 minutes before driving, it doesn't seem as bad.

At 130,000 miles a oil leak became very noticeable. The rear main oil seal was destroyed. Due to the oil leak the front belly pan(68102931ab) became a dangerous hazard. The front belly pan became completely soaked in oil and was dragging under the car. Once the car was taken apart by the tech it was discovered that the oil cooling house (68105583af) was cracked.

While driving down the interstate my car jumped a little then I could not go above 20 miles and hour. Once I arrived to a safe location I turned off my engine and then restarted. It seemed ok, but during the incident there was a flash on my dash that said "check throttle". I took it to a service station and they ran a code check on the vehicle. They stated the following: 1. Ecm (engine control module) 2. Tcm (transmission control module) 3. Orc (air bag/occupant restraint) my car is a 2017 Chrysler 200 VIN 1c3cccfb0hn50107. It has 55,600 miles on it, actual miles. Lights keep popping up on the dash but disappear. No one can figure out why the car pretty much shuts down when you take go to accelerate it shudders extremely hard and doesn’t go.

Car keeps shutting off with no warning loss of brakes and steering and no acellation this issue was brought up before but not addresse on.

At first the car started making chirping sound on the right side when ever the car idles. One day I was driving and it shut down while I was driving and the check engine light and electrical light came on, I finance the car and they do the repairs under warranty no electrical repairs. They did repairs to the engine they claim and the problem still persists when the engine shuts off while I’m driving. The brakes lock up and the steering wheel locks up. And you can’t change the gears to park the car. I literally drive with my hand on the emergency break out of anxiety, after it shuts off, the odometer and rpm meter both drop at the same time when it occurs, and after waiting for it to come back on the rpm struggles to go over the “1” I have to wait 20mins for the car to start back up every time. I got the car 03/25/2021 @ 130,800 miles. The car isn’t even at 150,000 miles meaning it’s only driven about 20k miles and this is happening & apparently only had 1 other owner. Not sure how true it is. Hi’ve already fixed the suspension issues on the car 670$. The engine repairs were under warranty I want to say over 3k in repairs they claim, the picture I’ve added is of the check engine light it goes away the next day I’ve only been driving the car when I need to so I don’t cause a bigger problem. My vehicle turns off like out of no where has done this three times also some oil is getting in the coolant take and when driving has a weird smell like gas or something.

Purchased car 8/03/21. Got full possession of car 8/18/21. The car shuts off while driving and backing up with no warning. It shuts off when you press on the brakes. When you come to a complete stop and then press on the accelerator , the car hesitates to move, then moves very slowly , jerks then starts to move at a normal pace . Engine light comes on continuously.

On 9/3/21 my car stalled twice while driving, no warning, no lights, then it restarted on it's own. I was in the middle of a turn with other cars approaching my car, could have gotten hit by another car. Unable to steer and horn with a low beep. On 9/4/21 st 7:30am while driving to take car to get checked out I thought I saw a spark where aux cable was inserted, I unplugged the cable, no burning smell or any other things seen.

After getting a tune-up, the car now runs worse than it did before, the car idles with a very intense vibration, I took it to a local mechanic who informed me that this model has a recall on the electronic throttle control and for me to take the car back to where I had the tune-up done. I have an appointment on Monday the 13.

My car is stalling and having trouble to restart I have had more than five occurrances the car was in motion as I slowed down to make a turn does it more when I turn left.

There have been recalls to other Chrysler 200 for these reasons. I am having issues with all of these and no recall. Steering linkage or strut issue the electrical goes out on the dash and console of the car. Cannot use air or any of the buttons warning light to check gas cap power terrain was fixed once and it came back the same way tire pressure also not working.

Vehicle died while driving 40-45 mph in traffic would not restart until after sitting for 30 min to 2 hours. There was no warning before it died, it was running normally. After it restarted the service engine light flashed then stayed on solid for a couple days. I was told it was the crankshft position sensor so I had that replaced. The car then 3 weeks later while driving started chugging really bad. I was then told the ignition coil on #2 cylinder was misfiring. I had that replaced along with all spark plugs and car ran the same after driving 4-5 miles then died and no restart. The repair shop found the #2 ignition coil melted into the valve cover and it had also cracked the valve cover. They replaced the valve cover and the #2 ignition coil and it happened again. The car is currently at the Chrysler dealership and premliminary estimate is an electrical problem sending too much voltage to that cylinder. So far there has been 2 ignition coils melted. I have been without ability to drive my car for 4 weeks now. Please put a recall on this problem !.

Iv been having problems with my vehicle since March 1st been to 3-4 shops one let me know my car is doing everything in the recall for fuel problems stalls out on me while I'm driving and when it gets to under half way mark on gas gage it's like there is no gas in it crystler in auburn NY is no help they keep giving my car back when I tell them whats wrong and giving me the run around iv spent 3000 already to fix the problem they are not fixing it I keep stalling out while driving.

Driving on the highway with the car on cruise at about 60mph the rpms suddenly dropped to zero and the car decelerated to a stop. When I restarted I went about a quarter of a mile before it turn off again. Then on attempting to turn over again it would not start. After cooling down (in the turn lane of a busy highway) for about six minutes it finally started again and I was able to pull to a parking lot.

This is my second compliant, though I should've been complaining since buying this vehicle in June 2016. My car wouldn't start and the engine would stall, no battery issue. All of a sudden a month later it started. I took it to my mechanic he said the engine light said a catalytic converter. . . But the catalytic converter does not need replaced. I have have my serpentine belt replaced 7 times in the last 3 years. I can hear my engine shifting roughly. In the month I bought the vehicle, I took it to the dealership to see what was wrong and why my rpm was going up when parked and the engine would stall. They told me if I didn't use the different fuel (which I only did twice) that it would stop. I was stuck with the car, and still am. My �gas cap� light has been going on and off for years. I had my fuel system checked and a valve was replaced, sensors have been replaced. My engine now sounds worse than ever with knocking, whirring and shakes almost always. I'm told there is an electrical issue and/or the engine tensioner but no one can truly pinpoint the issue. . . . It's extremely frustrating. Please recall this lemon. I have told everyone possible to never buy this brand of vehicle. This purchase was the worst mistake of my life.

We replaced a fuel injector on the 2nd cylinder last February in our Chrysler 2015 200s. We bought it brand new. Here it is 11 months later we are replacing the fuel injector on the 6th cylinder. I talk with someone at fca and he gave me the run around, referring me to warranties and not really trying to help and of course denying that there is a problem with the fuel injectors in that particular car. I know there can be issues with injectors if you do not service them, which we got the service, but shorting out; there is a problem. The car is 5 years old and shouldn't have fuel injector problems; shorting out especially. Anyone else having this issue? ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

The vehicle would cut off after starting & driving a very short distance then the check engine/flashing lightning bolt would come on. Once the car was off and then restarted, the lights would go off and it might run fine as long as you didn't accelerate too quickly & drove a good distance without having to stop and start a lot. The issue would arise more when driving short distances with constant stops & tight turns or sometimes when having to DE-accelerate quickly. Once the car was off for a second then restarted, the only light that would sometimes stay on would be the check engine light. Therefore, I took the car to an o�reillys for a free test & the only codes that came back was p0302 - cylinder 2 misfire & p2172 - throttle actuator control system. The issue had gotten worse so I had a mechanic replace all 4 spark plugs with ngk iridium plugs and the 2nd cylinder ignition coil with a bosch ignition coil. The cylinder 2 misfire code went away when restarting the vehicle but the main issue persists, the car won't stay on & the p2172 tacs code is still present. The vehicle is unsafe & unable to drive. The date I'm using for the question of when the issue happened is when I had the spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. The original issue started around the 2nd week of December somewhere between December 10th-December 14th.

My 2015 Chrysler 200 has been in the shop 20 times for multiple electronic issues and today I put my car in park and when I turned around my csr csmr out of psrk snd hit a poll.

All of sudden I felt a jolt in the gear shift and then I lost power steering and I couldn't step on the gas to accelerate . So I pulled over the best I could, on the highway going 55 mph. I shut the car off and when I turned it back on after giving it a couple minutes it was turning over but not turning on. The engine was completely stalled. No warning lights or check engine lights. It was completely random. I had to call family to come pick me and my daughter up. After a few hours we came back a new tried it. It worked but after driving it an hour it did the same thing again. I checked the recalls for my car and their isn�t, however when I read up on forums and my car has the same issues as the other 2013 Chrysler 200s. With engine stalling and greater possibility of an engine fire. I think the make and model of the vehicle needs to be investigated. I had my toddler in the car and it was frightening. I'm diligent about keeping up maintenance on my vehicles and if any inclination and or warning I would've been at the mechanic.

Car is not picking up speed when your in drive, jerks badly, cuts off in the middle of driving, keeps killing the battery, drives about 5 miles an hr the max. Car has been at the Chrysler dealership for over 6 months and it is still not fixed. They are saying that it's still doing the same thing as when I brought it in. Nothing is being done to resolve the issues.
