I doing 70mph on the fwy and the car just lost power. I took it to a shop and they said it was the fuel pump. I had it replaced. 1 week later I tried to start the car and it would not start. I called aaa and when they came the car started. The same day I was on the fwy and the engine shut down again. I was terrified as a big rig was right behind me. I called the mechanic and had the car towed to his shop. He tested it and said the fuel pump must be bad. We replaced it again. The car seemed to run fine. Please note I only drive 5 to 10 miles a day. I was on the fwy again this week and the engine quit again. I went online to see if I was the only one having this kind of problem and found dozens of people having the same problem. I was very disharden to learn there was no recall for this. I was almost involved in 2 serious wrecks on the fwy. I called my local Chrysler dealer to be told there was nothing they can do. Please advise.

My Chrysler 200 2013 touring stalled on me while coming to a stop at a stop sign I was stuck in a intersection for almost an hour and had to direct traffic around me so I wouldn't get hit. This is not the first time this has happened. This is the 5th time my car has stalled on me and I've only had it for 2 months, stalled twice on busy intersections I could have died. It stalled on me while I was going 55 mph and the lanes were so tight I almost couldn't get to the side of the road without getting hit and when I finally did the lanes were so close that I couldn't park on the side of the road for safety without being terrified someone going to come down the hill and not see me and hit me. Also I was just doing a beach cruise one time and it stalled on me I had to park and wait like a hour and 30 minutes for help. Another time I was doing a right turn onto my house and the engine just shut off so I had to make a wide right turn with barely any steering power could've been a major accident. The car just loses it power and shuts off without any warning. I've gotten a diagnostics and nothing showed wrong with the car, but there is something wrong. I've seen many of the same problems people are having online and the problem is not getting fixed at all. I'm seeing people replace fuel pumps, starters, batteries, alternators and no fix for the stalling just wasting money. Thousands of people online on sites are struggling with this car. People cars are stalling on them and are almost getting them killed. Chrysler is not doing anything to help these people, no recalls on the car and people are taking their cars to the dealership and wasting money because the problem still occurs even after the dealership. Really sad there needs to be something done with these cars my life is in danger and I'm only 19 years. The Chrysler 200 needs to be recalled very dangerous car.
Smelled gas when parked after driving about 3 miles. Called mechanic who said safe to drive 4 miles to garage. He found a crack in top of fuel pump that was spraying fuel to bottom of back seat where my 11 yr old granddaughter was riding. Mechanic then said it should have been towed in. He then said he had never seen a fuel pump cracked like that so I'm reporting it. At that point mechanic said it could have been serious if rear-ended. $856. 00 ready wed.

Car would not start. The lights worked, aaa came and checked plugs other things under the hood and reset the fuel pump button. It stil would not start. They towed it to a repair shop, who put a new fuel pump in. Exactly 30 days later, the same thing happened. A different tow truck driver came, tried the same things and towed it to the shop. Shop owners said it is starting fine; but wanted to keep it over the weekend to try to figure out what is happening. While this did occur after the car had been sitting for a few hours, I am concerned that it will happen on the road. The first time it happened, I was at the emergency room at the hospital, and it had been sitting in the parking lot for about three hours. Last week, it just did not start one morning. The night before, I was driving with a friend in the car, and I told her something didn't sound right- but I kept driving. There is a clicking noise that seems to be coming from the ac/heater vents that may be unrelated. The first incident was 6/20/17 and the second on 7/20/17.

While attempting to restart the vehicle, the contact had to wait approximately one hour for it to restart. Additionally, while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the rpms revved, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to drive 20 mph or the vehicle would stall without warning. The vehicle was taken to mike riehl's roseville Chrysler Jeep ram (25800 gratiot Ave, roseville, mi 48066, (586) 859-2500) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. At approximately 41,000 miles, wiring harness to fuel pump shorts out near fuel pump end, causing electrical arcing at fuel components. Entire wiring harness to fuel pump must be replaced due to damage. Overload (fuse box) system failed to mitigate damage. Arcing and fire could have caused further damage or explosion. Vehicle was on a city street when it simply stopped working. Vehicle is currently at putnam Chrysler in burlingame, CA, where it was diagnosed with the defect. Documentation in possession of the dealer.
Car has been acting funny but parked in a customer parking lot and when I tried to start car it stated severe problem and would not turn over. With my low miles I cant believe that a fuel pump could go.

I purchased a 2011 Chrysler 200 in July of 2011. I have had multiple incidents where my vehicle has stalled with my foot on the brake sitting at a stop light. I have taken in the vehicle to be serviced 4 times in 1 year for this reason. And I have been told each time it is something different causing the problem. Also I have had two incidents where my vehicle would not start. I have had to have it towed twice in one month to the dealership, and both times I have been told it was my fuel pump. And there is one other time I took my vehicle in because it would have a slow crank and this incident I was told it was my battery so they replaced that. Also just to mention my vehicle is currently only has 17,280 miles on it.
