The car has not been wanting to start. All the lights come on and the radio comes on but the car seems to not want to start. This happens when you go to the car to start it up to go somewhere.

On August 23rd, I was taking my sister in law back home from our house. On the way back from her house I decided to wash my 15 Chrysler 200. When I as done with that task and got back in the car. I noticed my brakes wouldn't disengage. I tried to do the maintenance release through the car's radio and it wouldn't let me do it. This is the first time I had any problem with the car. So I then tried to turn off and on the car and that didn't work. So then I thou maybe if I drove it, they would release and just as I hit 45mph, they did. And started to preform normally. An hour later, I stopped by my mother-in-law house to take car of her dogs like I've been doing for the last few days and when I was ready to leave. The car battery died. I'm not quite sure how cause I don't leave my lights on ever. And I sat there to wait for someone to tow it to the store with car battery and had them switched. They came to tell me that they couldn't get the car out of gear. So I went out there to see what was wrong and they were right. The car was running fine but I couldn't get it to change gears. On my dashboard. My small screen said to service the park brake and I thought, what that the brakes got to do with it's transmission. I looked and saw my mileage, 93,568, was blinking and my gear indicator as n. I'm pretty sure that the car was in park the hole time they where changing out the battery. The shifter nob was able to turn but I wasn't changing the gear either. So after that, I released the parking brake, that's somehow made the care show it was in drive, and had it towed back to my mother-in-law house.

Radio monitors blacked out and internally shorted. 1200 dollars to be repaired there's no reason that I could see why the computer monitor that controls my air menu,heat,radio and other things would internally go out.

On a return trip back home from store less than 2 miles from my house car stalled after turning onto a side street going only a few mph,engine cut off,radio was still on. Was able to pull into the closest parking lot, "shift to p" comes up on dash, battery light comes on. I put the car into park. Turn it off, tried to restart it and it struggled to turn over a few times before finally coming back on. Stalled again pulling into my parking lot. Next day I tried to go to the store again and same thing happened pulling into store and pulling into parking lot. . . . This happened a few months back, after an oil change it stopped, but this time I am not due for an oil change and oil level is fine.

While excellerating the car will hesitate. Sometimes this causes the car to jerk very hard, other times the car acts like its stuck in between gears I have almost been hit a few times because of this. When I am stopped and go to take off it will almost stop and them jump forward real fast. Other times it just jerks a few times and takes off. When I first bought my car it shifted into neutral on it's own a few times. This stopped once an update was done. My check engine light used to come on and go off. Now it stays on. We have taken it to advance auto and the scan tool will not read any codes. The radio, touch screen and steering wheel controls will randomly stop working. I had an alert pop up saying the engine temp hot and service electronic throttle control. The car has been nothing but a headache. My basic warranty has expired. I don't know what to do.

My air bag light always comes on. Saying it needs to be serviced every time the front passenger seat is moved. My radio used to shut off while I'm driving and reboot like if im starting the car. . Now it doesn't turn on at all. It just glitches. Since I got the car when I go to switch gears the car will switch gears hard. Like if something is wrong with the transmission.

The passenger airbag alarm stays on and interrupts the info on the dash. The radio has turned up on its own and would not turn off even when the car was turned off and door opened. The engine constantly stalls especially when making a hard or fast turn or when braking hard. Sometimes jt cuts off when idling. It is always hard to get restarted, and requires several minutes of trying. The radio problems happen when stationary. The airbag light us constant during stationary and movement. The engine stalls happen mostly when deceleration or hard turns or braking. Sometimes a red light with lightenjng bolt appears on dash and the car will ride very rough until turned off and turned back on.

My media center/radio suddenly powers off at any given m9ment and power on when it wants problem is while my seats are heated I can't turn them off unless the media screen is on. Huge problem. This issue is very annoying . My vehicle is either parked, in motion, or even at a stop light this happens periodically throughout my driving day.

When I'm driving the car powers down then powers back up. . The cars screen radio and speedometer board goes black and the car slows down. . It has also done it while I was sitting at a light. . This happened at least 20 times since I got the car but it does not read anything is wrong when it is hooked up. . It has happened on the highway, while driving down the street, in my driveway and while I was picking the car up at the dealer after they couldn't get it to duplicate. . It has happened when I've first started driving and after I've driven the car for awhile. .

Took my perfectly driving 200 in for an oil service and tire rotation. The dealer also stated there was a software update (no detailed explanation so I assumed it was the radio security) Nov 21th, 2015. I waited for the service to be completed and upon driving home noticed the car acting weird, the transmission was not down shifting correctly and lunging forward terribly. I immediately contacted the dealership and they advised the software flash would take 1,000 miles-what? sounds like bull s**t to me but I drove it over 1500 miles for christmas in in with everyone riding along asking what the heck is wrong with my car! I contacted the dealer upon my return and after some excuses and a service manger with an attitude it now goes back in Jan 9th, 2016 but they are already trying to blow it off. . . . . Drove perfect till my dealer and fca screwed it up! if they even attempt to tell me it needs to reflash or its my driving style I will immediately request a test drive in a new one and video it. Update from Dec 31, 2015 fca tells me my car had the tcm and pcm updated when the problem started. Update from Feb 8, 2016 well after two more visits. . . . . . This car still does not down shift correctly without a lurch forward between 2nd and 1st. Some nice pieces of crap you have built in detroit Chrysler! Feb 25,2016-Chrysler informed me they are aware of the lunging forward while trying to stop but no known repair is available. Keep driving it! its a safety hazard and injury waiting to happen.

I had the transmission rebuilt by Chrysler 2014, it has been back to Chrysler twice since then and they say nothing is wrong. It is now out of warranty and the transmission is slipping again. The car also has some electrical system issues, the radio will just stop working and the lights will dim.

While driving we experienced the vehicle had stopped and we were just coasting for a few blocks. The engine stopped running. Some messages popped up and afterwards, when we tried to restart the vehicle, it would not turn on. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Good thing we were not going fast or in traffic or I don't know what would of happened. We towed the vehicle, again, to the dealership where they too saw that the vehicle was not turning on. The vehicle just made a noise like it wanted to turn on but just couldn't. Everything else was working, radio, windows, etc.

The placement of the shift paddles (sport shift model Chrysler 200s) has caused two near accidents for me. These paddles (+ and -) are located on the back of the steering wheel on both the right and left sides, just above the control buttons on the back for the sound system. While driving east bound on 16 mile road, I thought I was changing the channel of my radio station, instead I hit the paddle, this stopped my acceleration and my vehicle slowed down, I tried to accelerate again, instead the rpms went up. I did not know how to adjust and was in the left (fast) lane where I had to pull off into the 'michigan left' lane, I then turned off the car and restarted it again. This happened again on hall road approximately two weeks later, fortunately I was slowing down anyway to turn on to a street. I believe most of the functions in this car are ergonomically wrong. The 'dial' to park, neutral, reverse, drive is just a few inches away from the air flow dial. I have looked behind the car to be sure there were no pedestrians / vehicles and while my head was turned, my hand turned the dial for air flow instead of the dial for reverse. The emergency parking brake is a small pull button just a few inches away as well. I have had a passenger try to pull it as they asked what it was . . .

An electrical fire severely damaged my vehicle. The fire started while the vehicle was being driven. At the time of the fire no accessories were plugged in to the 12v power port. To the best of my knowledge the only accessories that were being used at the time of the incident were the a/c and the radio. The fire was extinguished by a homeowner, but the vehicle sustained heavy damage to the instrument cluster between the front seats. The car is still covered under the full manufacturers warranty, but at this point I am being told that this is not considered a warranty issue because they can not prove that the fire wasn't started by a device plugged into the 12v power port.

I was at a stop sign with my spouse and I was taking a right hand turn. The car didn't move at all then all of a sudden it lunged forward causing us to jerk back and forth. I still have lower back pain because of this and my spouse neck was hurting for a couple of weeks. Other than that I have several issues that had yet to be resolved. There is a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. They told me it was a knock and I have tried different brands of gas and it 's still there. The car still lunges forward from a stop even though it has had an update on its system multiple times. When you put the car in park it rolls forward quite a bit. 2 times it jumped out of park and into reverse. I have had an airbag issue 5 times and today it is at the dealership to be repaired again. It is the right side airbag. Connectors were changed and wiring 4 times. Car hesitates a lot especially from a stand still. I have almost gotten into accidents due to the fact that when I was taking a left on a major road from a complete stop the car rolled a little and didn't go. It hesitated jerked hard and went really slow. A grinding noise came from the tranny. Another issue I have is that my car vibrates. I don't have no ac nor radio on and it just vibrates. The tech told me that Chryslers star will not do anything for my vehicle just updates. I'm paying for a car that spends about a week in the shop once a month since April. No one can figure it but they can hear the rattling and feel the sound. I even had one tech told me that I should deal with it that I am not the only one complaining but star isn't going to do anything about it. Yet again it is at the shop today getting an update and the airbag being repaired.

I was driving on the interstate in my brand new Chrysler 200 (barely 6,000 miles on it) around 6:00 am, going about 78 mph, when suddenly the parking brake appeared to engage, the radio went off while warning beeps were going non stop, and every warning on the dash was lit up, the car would not accelerate, and seemed to think it was in park while it was actually in drive. It still would not drive (was acting as though brakes were on when they were not) when the tow truck came 2 hours later and the driver was trying to get it onto the bed. As I was on the interstate when my car went into a swift and sudden deceleration I was almost seriously injured and, potentially, could have injured others. I was lucky it was so early in the morning and no one was hurt. I have not yet heard from the dealership as this only happened this morning, but I am terrified to ever drive that car again. I believe this should be looked into before anyone is injured or killed due to whatever caused this malfunction.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that there was no power steering fluid in the vehicle. The vehicle was replenished with power steering fluid but the failure recurred. The also contact stated that the power steering hose exploded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 6,047. The consumer stated there were numerous problems with the vehicle, such as a coolant leak, oil leak, air condition, the cd player did not work, the power steering hose burst, the wire harness, the transmission was replaced, the engine was noisy and the seat belt on the passenger side was not properly installed. The vehicle cut off several times. Updated 10/31/13.

First time car wouldn't start. Dealership charged battery and did software update. Second time car wouldn't start they replaced battery. Third time car wouldn't start battery completely drained they said it was a glove box switch. Fourth time car wouldn't start they said it was the usb cable keeping the radio powered on all the time. Same Chrysler dealership worked on it all four times. Brand new car bought August of 2012. All four times have been in less than two months! this car is not safe. Chrysler is not doing the right thing by their customers! any help would be appreciated. In the USA we should not have to put up with being ripped off like this.
