3 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2015

2006 Chrysler 300. Bought this car for my 16 year old daughter to drive. The car starting stumbling and stalling at random times, and speeds, once while driving at 80 mph the rpms dropped to 0 and the check engine light flashed; it always just flashes. Then just as fast as the rpms dropped to zero it came right back up. The car jumped forward like I floored the peddle. I have managed to capture this on video, because it went on acting this way for several miles. Then it was fine for about another 150 miles. Then. It returned. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they say no codes no problem, the forth time it happened I got a code u0100 and p0700. With my scan tool but again dealer says they cant find anything wrong and there is no codes. When asked how was the check engine light on if there were no codes. The answer was they did not know. This problem still is present to this day. It still stalls and shuts down at any given speed. Rather its parked or running 80. The car use to restart ok but now the restarting is becoming an issue. I just made the first payment on it a few days ago. I bought this car from a Dodge dealer. Here's what I am going to do. Its well documented (by me and the dealer) that this car has a problem. They say its safe, they say no codes no problems. So im going to continue driving it and if something goes wrong (heaven forbid) Chrysler will be funding my retirement. So thanks Chrysler. I'm trusting you and your representatives. You say no codes no problem. Please consider this another piece of documentation.

6 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2013

I was driving on the highway on my way home from work and all a sudden the check engine light came on and the car shut down and the rpm dropped. I couldn't steer or anything. There was no warning or nothing luckily I was able to drift slowly to the side and there wasn't no serious accident. I restarted my car and it drove normally after this incident but check engine light stayed on then again today on the 24th of December I was driving to the store and the same thing happen but again good thing I was in the far right lane to pull over. . . Im not a rocket scientist but this isn't safe to drive my car and especially while I have my kids in the car, something bad can happen.

7 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

I was driving my car down the street at approximately 30mph and the engine shut down without any warning; however, the radio and dashboard lights stayed on. I was able to start the car up immediately with no hesitation. This happened once on 11/18/2013 and twice on 11/20/2013. The check engine light never illuminated to indicate a problem on any of the 3 occasions nor have any codes been put out. On 11/21/2013, I had the car towed to a repair facility. Prior to these 3 incidences, I had never had this problem nor any major problem with my vehicle, which I purchased brand new in June 2005. This problem did not occur after refueling, my tank was half full when the problem first occurred. The repair facility has had my vehicle for 7 days now and the car has stalled on them several times as well, however, they have no idea what the problem is. The facility has been in contact with Chrysler technicians and has researched the technical bulletins, with no solution to the problem. The repair facility determined that the issue sounded related to the throttle body even though the car didn't kick out any code so they checked the throttle body and noted that its voltage was out of the specification range so they replaced it and updated/reset the car's computer, but this did not fix the problem as the car has stalled since they've replaced the throttle body.

8 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2012

Our Chrysler 300c has stopped running while driving at least 10 times over the last year or so. On freeway and city streets. It usually starts back up once your stopped. My wife is afraid to drive it anymore. It is a very scary situation. No engine, no ps and no brakes. No code or check engine light. Everyone I have talked to with a 300 has had the same problem, no matter what the year or engine. Like most there is no sense taking it to dealer. They just say no code and give you some bs story about what caused it. No come up with a fix. Chrysler knows they have a problem and won't man up and fix it. They would rather someone die first to save money. It has to be in the computer. Just like Toyota and their fly by wire throttle that was causing all the crashes. What is the public suppose to do if they won't step up.

9 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2011

Vehicle was traveling 35 mph on a surface street and cut off. Check engine light came on. Engine able to be restarted. Engine running rough. No one able to "diagnose" the problem. Check engine light comes on and goes off. Tends to come on when accelerate. A second instance of engine cutting out yesterday while accelerating. Too many guesses as to what could be the problem and it appears that there are quite a few Chrysler 300 owners having the same problem.

The car lost power and just stopped. . No check engine light or anything. Locked engine. I always did oil changes and took good care of the car. Not only did the engine lock but the tire rods on the car kept breaking causing more issues. .

12 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2009

Our Chrysler 300 stalls while driving. Engine light is on, but when taken to service, the dealer says nothing is wrong with it. This stalling is dangerous! stalling at a red light and while driving is something that Chrysler should recall. There are other complaints on this website about this.

14 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2008

Loses power while driving, engine light comes on. Happened multiple times. Dealer replaced several sensors. Problem repeated. This time replaced the "speed sensor". Seems to have taken care of it (I hope). Chrysler seems to ignore all of these problems. I won't buy another Chrysler, for sure.
