Failure Date: 11/05/2025

Date: February 22, 2026 via certified mail fca us llc customer care p. O. Box 21-8004 auburn hills, mi 48321-8004 formal complaint – safety defect (rearview camera failure) vehicle 1: 2012 Chrysler 300s (VIN: 2c3ccabg8ch273163) vehicle 2: 2018 Chrysler 300s (VIN: 2c3ccagg1jh300032) to the Chrysler customer care team: I am a loyal, multi-vehicle Chrysler owner currently residing in san diego county. I am writing to formally report a persistent and dangerous safety defect affecting both of my Chrysler 300s vehicles. Description of defect: in both vehicles, the factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicles are shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, especially given the known blind spots of the 300s model. Legal and safety context: as you are aware, Chrysler has issued multiple recent recalls (including recall 24v-436) regarding rearview camera software failures. Furthermore, for the 2018 model, federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 111 mandates a functional rear visibility system. The identical failure across two different model years suggests a fundamental defect in the camera hardware or wiring harnesses used in this vehicle line. Requested resolution: as a long-term supporter of the Chrysler brand, I am requesting a goodwill repair for both vehicles. I ask that Chrysler authorize a local authorized dealer in san diego (chula vista/national city) to inspect and repair these camera systems at no cost to me. Please respond to this request in writing within 10 business days. I have also opened a report with the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) to document these failures. Sincerely, nicole lam.

I spoke with the service department at ganely Chrysler aurora (first jim, then mat). I requested an appointment regarding the alternate recall. Jim stated that since this recall is over a year old, and the dealership only gets one part at a time, I would have to call in a couple of weeks to see if they are able to repair my vehicle. I called another dealership and was told that I would actually have to bring the vehicle in so they could look at my part number and order the part if they do not already have it on hand. Since this was not what jim stated I called ganely aurora back and spoke to mat. Mat confirmed what they other dealership told me and said that he did not know why jim told me to call back in a couple of weeks. 29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2017

While driving my 2012 Chrysler 300 on 8-19-2017 my radio cut off. I also noticed that my dashboard lights were flashing on and off. My car lost power while I was driving, I was able to coast without any power or breaks into a safe are. I,let my car rest for about ten minutes. I started my car and the heat came on and would not cut off. My car was running ruff and the lights inside just started flashing on and off. My car has a push to start button on it and it would not cut off when I pressed the brake and the push to start button into the off position. I had my car towed to a dealership, and I am waiting on the diagnostic test to be completed. I have done some research on recalls for my model car, and some 2012 chysler 300 hundreds were recalled for a specific problem dealing with the 160 volt altenator. I have seen many complaints about this issue, chysler is not recalling any models with the 180 volt altenator. I am assuming because my car does not have an active recall notice on it, that my car has 180 volt altenator on it. If that is the case? I have read over 300 complaints about the same issue with the 180 volt altenator. I was lucky that I had just gotten of the freeway and was not going at a high rate of speed. What actions have the NHTSA taken too protect consumers for this dangerous safety issue? even when my car is fixed, if the can fix it I will not feel safe driving it. This is a serious issue that needs too be addressed by the Chrysler corporartion and the NHTSA.
