2 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2000 Chrysler 300M

Failure Date: 12/03/2004

The crank shaft pulley failed and caused the drive and v-belt to separate from all remaining pulleys. Among other things, I lost power steering traveling at 65 mph on the interstate. It was fortunate I was not travelling on a curvy country road or I probably wouldn't be alive to write this report. As it was it took a lot of strength to be able to steer the vehicle clear of the roadway. The parts distributor told my mechanic they were shipping an average of 55 replacement cranshaft pulleys a month.

Failure Date: 06/20/2004

My timing belt went on my Chrysler 300m 2001, causing a complete valve job. In looking on the web it seems as if many people have been having this same problem for years. We need to hold our car dealers to the same standard as they hold us for payment.
