The car stalls while in motion on an incline, making a left or right turns up an incline, and making u-turns on flat surface. The engine would just die, then I would have to put it in park and it would restart. This happened in city streets in speeds under 25mph. This has happened over a dozen times, 3 times this month. Mechanic cannot fix the problem.
I was on freeway doing 60_70 miles per hour when I noticed my car felt like it was not accelerating and gas pedal felt stiff like when car is off. I had my whole family in car and I could of wrecked if I didn't notice in time to put car in neutral and restarted it some how before we got rear ended. I got off freeway somehow and turned car on and off again a few times and it seemed like it was a one time thing . A few miles later it did same thing and I was stalled out in middle of on coming traffic . Cars braked and swerved out of my way to avoid rear ending us . My children were scared cause of this happening out of the blue. I now have no desire to even drive my car with any of my family in it incase this happens again. I contacted Chrysler but they claimed my VIN wasn't part of the f44 recalls but I know it is same issues. . . I will be taking car to Chrysler first thing in morning to leave them car to find out why my family almost got in accident due to this issue. So in total it stalled out on me 6 times twice on freeway the rest on city streets just to get home . . . . This is a serious issue that could of killed everyone in my vehicle if I didn't react fast enough to avoid that from happening. .
I have owned this 2006 Chrysler Pacifica fwd touring model since brand new. We live in michigan so of course there are winter issues associated with cars in general. However, this vehicle is in great condition garage kept all of its life unless driving, no surface rust, etc etc. Basically a great car. I went to get the oil changed and the technician told me by the way there is a big rut hole in the sub frame and you might want to have that looked at. He also stated it looks strange because the rest of the car is in such great shape. I had new struts and tie rod installed about 2 years ago so I took it in there to have it looked at next. I was then told this is amazing, but we have seen this before on these Chrysler Pacificas! (red flag). They told me to check with the dealer because there is probably a recall on it. I then called the dealer to make an appointment to have it looked at. The service tech told me he knows what I am talking about and took my VIN number over the phone. After a few minutes he told me there was an extended warranty for this case and unfortunately it did not cover my VIN. Then he suggested I call Chrysler customer service to complain and see where it gets me. (nice). After speaking with Chrysler and told them the story and how it basically renders my car unsafe to drive she explained to me that there was a warranty for a 6 week period in 2004 and I did not qualify. I have read numerous articles on the internet now about this problem and possible class action lawsuits. Needless to say, I drive around with children in the car and this thing is a time bomb and Chrysler needs to admit there is a problem and warn all current owners before someone gets injured or killed!.
The engine light came on. The car would not accelerate over 25 mph. It kept feeling as if it was stalling when stopped at light and trying to accelerate. Hard to go up inclines. After being parked for 4 hours we noticed the car was smoking. I called the fire department who discovered that the insulation and the engine was smoldering. It is now at excalibur being looked at. I was driving on a city street when this happened. When we discovered the car was smoking, it had been parked for four hours.

Intake plenum has failed causing the car to stall out when turning in front of oncoming traffic. Definitely a safety hazard. This defect is in all Chrysler Pacificas. As a secondary consequence, this defect causes excessive emissions, increasing air pollution.

We have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica that we purchased used in 2008. The car stalls when turning like the 2004-2005 models that had a recall f44. We contacted Chrysler customer care at 800 992 1997and found out that the previous owner had taken the car in for repair during the initial recall. Chrysler customer care told us to take the car back to Chrysler because it is covered under the safety recall warranty for 10 years. When we took the car in we learned that the engine cradle is corroding another recall x26. The dealer told us it would cost a couple of thousand dollars to repair. Additionally, we were told that we need two new fuel pumps and that this is not covered by the f44 recall because our 2006 car is outside of the 2004 - 2005 model year recall to replace the fuel pumps. We paid the dealer the cost of the service charge $103 for the information and were told we might consider buying a new car. I am surprised/frustrated and angry that Chrysler is not taking any accountability for both very dangerous safety issues and in essence made $103 profit off of their negligence to create a safe car.

Reccall f44 (fuel pump module). This recall was for repair/replace of module due to fact that Pacifica cars stall with faulty unit. My car has stalled numerous times. I took to dealer as instructed by recall letter. The dealer said they made repair. My vehicle continues to stall. Dealer would not replace part again. I am stuck with a vehicle I cannot drive because it is unsafe to drive.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and would not start. The failure was recurring. The battery was replaced over six times but to no avail. The dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed and replaced the computer and the engine. Additionally, the contact stated that the air bag sensor, abs brake sensor and the service engine sensor illuminated after the vehicle was repaired. The contact had experienced multiple electrical failures and the air bag warning light was illuminated. The dealer was not able to replicate or diagnose the failure. The dealer advised the contact to remove all keys from the key ring except for the fob and keys. The dealer also replaced the ignition switch. The air bag sensor continued to illuminate and the local authorized dealer was notified several times of the failure, who advised the contact that the air bags would not deploy in the event of a crash. The vehicle was not repaired for the air bag sensor. The manufacturer was notified of failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
After starting the vehicle and placing into reverse the vehicle immediately stalls. Stalling has also occured while driving. In addition to this problem I have replaced the engine motor mounts 3 times.
When accelarating the veh stalls out but starts right back up. I continues to stutter along and stalls.

The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 113,000.
While in reverse in parking lot, car stalled causing loss of braking power and vehicle rolled into another parked vehicle. Since incident, when vehicle is placed into reverse, vehicle immediately stalls. Also, motor mounts have broken and this appears to be a big issue with the Pacificas.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated the engine control module failed. The engine control module was replaced. After the repair the transmission control module light illuminated on the instrument panel and the mechanic stated the transmission control module had to be replaced again. My 2006 Chrysler Pacifica has recently been stalling when turning at low speeds.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica stalling . . . . . With no warning in middle of intersections and worse on the highway in traffic was told by many dealers that it was the oil switch as the oil light comes on when it happens also was told that it was the incorrect oil filter on my Chrysler filters must be used on that engine , this is my wife's car and now it is happening about every time she stops and or left turn , she has been in many situations where she was almost in an accident to the point that she doesn't even drive the car anymore in seeing all the complaints about this I would hope that a recall would be issued before someone looses a life.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While turning left at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The electrical system continued to function and the oil warning light illuminated on. The contact was able to restart the vehicle as it resumed normal operation. The failure recurred three times. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 73,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.
2006 Pacifica I have had 10-12 instances where my vehicle has stalled during a left hand turn. Initially they were far enough apart that it didn't seem that bad and they appeared to only happen at slow parking lot speeds. My most recent 2 events were much worse: one happened with my children in the car driving on a mountain road and had to do a hard "hairpin" left turn that almost resulted in our driving off the face of the mountain!!! latest event occurred while making a left hand turn through traffic on a divided highway. The vehicle once again stalled during the left turn at about 40 mph while crossing traffic. I narrowly avoided being hit and almost hit another vehicle head on due to the failure. Please help us. . This is unreal!.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine surged. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage is 7,500 and failure mileage was 3,544.
While making a slow left-hand turn into a shopping center, my 2006 Pacifica touring awd stalled without a warning of any kind. I was not able to steer (no power steering). I had to coast out of the lane to the curb. I was then able to restart it without an incident. I was fortunate that this did not happen on the main road. My Pacifica was bought new in February '06 and has approx 9300 miles. I had about 3/4 tank of gas at the time. There have been zero problems with this car until now. I take it to the dealership tomorrow, but I fear that they won't be able to 'duplicate' the problem.
: the contact stated while driving 20 mph and making a left turn over a speed hump, the vehicle stalled completely without warning. The vehicle was able to be restarted immediately, and displayed no further issues. A service dealer was notified, who informed the contact that since there were no illuminated warning lights prior to the incident, there was nothing that could be done. The vehicle was not immediately taken in for service. Updated 9/27/2006 - when the vehicle was taken tp the dealer the technician performed TSB 1803905; update flash. Updated 08/14/08.
(1) own a 2006 Chrysler 2006 Pacifica awd and have experienced the vehicle stalling on three separate occurrences. The issue has happened while making a left hand turn. First occurrence was in April with approximately 2000 miles on the vehicle. The other two happened on 8/18 and 8/19 with approximately 4000 miles on the car. (2) consequence could have resulted in an accident with oncoming traffic, but we made it out of the way. (3) reviewed edmunds forum and found the issue was happening with other Pacifica owners and no fix was found. Called suburban Chrysler in farmington hills michigan and they were not aware of any issues. They read about it in the paper and have not seen any vehicles in for this issue.
Car stalled when making a left turn. Was able to restart engine right away. Engine was well warmed on a 90ã‚â°f day. For now, I don't think there is anything that the dealer can do. I did an internet search and found that other owners are having the same problem. I also saw that action rq06-002 was reopened for the same problem. I just wanted to add myself to the group.
While making left turns into traffic or left "u-turns" the vehicle stalls putting my family in extreme danger to oncoming traffic. I have taken it to a "5 star" Chrysler dealership in greensburg, PA and they told me that they can't fix it because there is no error code associated with it. This condition is extremely unsafe and needs to be corrected immediately.
Vehicle stalled without any notice or warning.
My 2006 Pacifica 2wd touring is stalling out with no warning. This has happened twice and I have only had this vehicle for three months (bought it brand new). This last time I was turning left into a shopping center. After yielding to oncoming traffic I turned left and proceeded through the intersection and my Pacifica stalled out with no warning again. This almost caused a serious accident. It gives no warning at all that it is about to stall out and the only way to know is that the steering wheel locks up and the car stops.
I was waiting to make a left turn at a traffic light. The light turned yellow, and I promptly made my left turn so as not to hold up the cars on my left. I made it through the intersection, and the car stalled. I was able to shift to neutral and immediately restart the car. I had the ac on, and had three fourths of a tank of sunoco 89 octane gas. I always run 89 octane per the owners manual.
