Car began to make loud, abrupt knocking noise from right side, passenger front of vehicle. We took it to three separate repair shops for evaluation and at all three repairs shops were told that our engine cradle was so badly rotted and rusted that the car was not drivable. It was a huge safety concern as the engine and transmission can both drop out of the vehicle at any moment without warning. This has been a known issue to Chrysler and they are not assisting current owners with repair.

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While accelerating at 25 mph, the engine made knocking noises. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they discovered that the engine mounts failed. New mounts were ordered in January of 2009, but the dealer stated that they would not arrive until March 10, 2009. The contact received the parts and is aware of numerous complaints regarding the engine mounts for this vehicle. He would like the manufacturer to repair the vehicle for free since they realized that there was a major defect. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage was 54,000 and failure mileage was 50,000.
2006 Pacifica has major knocking noise. Sounds like a lifter and after checking online I found that several other people with this year model have had the same problem.
