My car is 3-4 months old. Around 7k in miles on it. This afternoon car did not started, start button was showing as run created a kind of chaos in terms seems the like car is ready to run showing all run signals but was not running, happened in a parking lot so I was confused what state should I leave the car in as not able able to shut down the car & dont know whether it will start running by himself, switched on the parking breaks just to make sure it does just start running & ruins someones car, it was kind of scary. More scary things happened when the towing truck guys showed up to drive the car to dealer. He was trying to figure out where is the button to put the car in neutral, called dealership no one knew, looked at a video where it showed there is a small box under steering which has a ribbon to pull to move the car to neutral mode. When the towing driver opened that space there was no ribbon. These are part of safety issues with the car, tis time it happened in a parking lot if it would have happened on the live road this would have been disastrous.
On 05-11-2019 my 2018 (purchased Nov. 2018) Chrysler Pacifica touring l plus van was stationary in my driveway (7,000 miles). Vehicle would not start. Vehicle began giving erratic dash displays, for example it advised that the car was not in park. It advised that the gear shift need service. Despite not ever turning on, the vehicle as clearly having a complete electrical meltdown. The windshield wipers engaged. Then none of the buttons on the fob, nor in the car were responding. Within a few minutes the entire car died. No electrical response. Had it towed to dealership today. Waiting to hear on diagnosis.
I was passing a slow moving motor home on state road 19 ocala national forest . In the middle of my pass the engine cut off. I had enough speed to finish my pass safely and pull to the side of road. All the panel lights were flashing and the car would not restart. I called roadside assistance Chrysler and after four hours the vehicle was towed to the nearest Chrysler dealer. The car has been at beck palatka florida, Chrysler since April first. They informed after five days that they were not equipped to handle repairs because of the new technology on this vehicle. I have now been informed that I will have to pay for towing from dealer in palatka to the st. Augustine dealer. I feel concern for my safety driving this new Chrysler hybrid if it can be repaired. We could have had loss of life had another vehicle struck our vehicle approaching head on. I had no acceleration in the middle of my passing, and with my wife and grandchildren in the car, this situation could have been tragic. My case number is 33839387 and I have been informed that it is going to be transferred to another person! please advise as to my next step in this process.
