Master cylinder failed with approximately 4,300 miles on the car (purchased in April 2019, failed September 2019). Dealer reported it was a "known issue" but no service bulletin or recall has been issued. No brake warning light or code thrown. Only discovered because owner suspected concern with brakes.

While sitting at a stop light pressing the brake pedal down, the car began rolling forward. The car continued to roll until I was able to press the brake down to the floor, and it finally stopped rolling. The brake pressure built back up and the brake light came on. The car was towed to the dealership, the break check valve was replaced, but the brakes continued to malfunction. The dealership has the vehicle still, and has not repaired the issue.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had experienced a failure while driving at various speeds with the engine, brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle would loss power once the contact released her foot of the brake pedal. The contact would have to turn the vehicle off and back on in order for the vehicle to resume back to normal. The vehicle has 950 miles on it, a rotatory gear shift know, and an electronic parking brake. At home I park the vehicle on a level surface. I do not engage the parking brake when I leave the vehicle. On quite a few occasions when I enter the vehicle and turn on the engine, the parking-brake light comes on and the brake is engaged even though I did not set it. For most occurrences, I can press the parking brake button, and the light will go off and the brake will disengage. However, on some occasions, pressing the brake button gives no response. If I turn the engine off and then back on, the brake then disengages. A few times I have had to turn the engine on and off more than one time to get the brake disengaged. A more series problem with the parking brake is that on several occasions the brake has suddenly come on while I am driving. This has occurred when I have started the engine and driven about 100 feet. It has occurred when I am moving forward and when I am backing up. The brake suddenly engages and brings the vehicle to an abrupt halt. On these occasions pressing the brake button gave no response. I had to turn the engine off and back on. On 7/5 I stopped at a pharmacy drive-up window, and put the vehicle into park. After my transaction, I rotated the gear knob to drive, and the parking brake light then went on. I pressed the brake button multiple times, and the light would not go out. I then turned the engine off and back on. (to do this I had to have pressure on the brake pedal. ) when I turned the engine back on the vehicle took off at significant speed, and I crashed into a street light pole. When a tow truck came to get the vehicle the truck operator found that the vehicle gear knob was in the park gear. He had a good deal of difficulty in getting the vehicle into neutral gear for the towing process. Have pictures upon request.
I had the brakes repaired in 2012; the next month the abs light came on and the sensor was replaced. Ten months later, the sensor light came on again. I was told it was insignificant, that the brakes are fine. In the fall of 2013, I had the car towed to a shop because it tried to accelerate while I was pressing the brakes. I spent over $800. 00 having a bunch of codes cleared with the transmission and other things. The engine light was off for a few days but came back on. There was an error that read gas cap. I replaced the gas cap but the engine light remains on. In March 2014 the brake light came on, I was told that I needed to replace the calibers but later was told that I didn't. I had someone else to check and they said that I needed new front brakes. I had those replaced. On 4/7/2014, I was leaving the parking garage at the doctor's office and the gas pedal was stuck. Lucky for me it was on a downhill slope and I was able to stop at the stop sign and put the car in park and press the accelerator to unstick it. Today, April 13, 2014 the brake light is back on and there is a noise in the frontend. I love my car but it just does not feel safe to drive.

2006 Chrysler Pacifica abs brake lights keep comming on and off time to time.
On January 1, 2007, I was driving the vehicle in my neighborhood traveling at a rate of about 25 mph. As I tapped the brakes lightly to slow down, the brake pedal pulsated rapidly and noticed the abs light turn on. I did not bear down on the brake pedal so I do not know why the abs system engaged. The brake light stayed on for the remainder of the day. On January 4, 2007, my wife was driving the vehicle at lunchtime and the abs system engaged without her even touching the brake pedal. The brakes made a squealing noise at the time. Needless to say, the abs light is back on.
