My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has ongoing electrical problems that match the same symptoms described in existing recalls, but my VIN is not included in those campaigns. The issues began around 08/30/22. The vehicle has experienced stalling, electrical shutdown, dashboard warning lights, loss of power steering issues, failure of the start-stop system, dead batteries, loud creaking, popping, squeaking noises from the front suspension, especially when turning, backing up, steering lock, or going over bumps. These events began in 2021 and continue despite numerous repairs at mechanics and dealerships. Despite repairs and inspections, the problems continue. I have reviewed NHTSA recalls and found recall numbers 18v524000, 20v334000, 19v143000 as well as battery ground recall for 2017–2019 models, and my vehicle’s problems are identical to those safety issues. The dealer confirmed that my VIN is not covered, so I have been responsible for repair costs. These defects create a serious safety hazard, especially when the vehicle stalls or loses power while driving. It places my family and other drivers at risk of a crash. We have been stranded on highways and in the center of busy intersections due to loss of power. I strongly request that NHTSA investigate whether the existing recalls should be expanded to include additional VIN ranges, since many 2018 Pacifica owners (myself included) are experiencing the same electrical failures. I have had the vehicle inspected/repaired 4/15/21, 9/15/22, 10/2/23, 11/22/23, 8/10/24, 7/21/25, 8/7/25, 9/23/25 for battery ground, electrical module replacement, wiring repair, and strut repairs. The issues persist despite these attempts.

There is a loud creaking noise coming from the front end, most likely suspension. It seems worse when the car is turning and even more so when backing up and turning steering wheel. I am aware of the v15 recall for the pacific and from what I have read the symptoms are nearly identical. Along with this there are at times more of a clicking sound.
There is a loud clicking and popping noise from the front drivers side suspension when turning or going over bumpy ground. The car also pulls to one side unexpectedly when going around corners sometimes while driving the car will shut down and restart as if rebooting a computer.
Of all the issues, I want to bring attention to 2 very serious ones. 1) engine has transmission issue. Auto shifting of gears give constant jerks and this was never resolved. Chrysler has always avoided this as it's a very expensive fix. Have taken to several different dealerships in 2 different states. (NJ & TX) 2) coolant leaking. This ends up becoming an engine problem that they don't fix.
I purchased this Chrysler Pacifica from advantage auto sales in new kensington PA. Making payments obviously but I have had nothing but issues since we got it. Now it’s up at #1 cochran and they did a exam and they sent me a video and the transmission is bad, (which when I got the vehicle I been saying something is wrong with the transmission, took it to the garage they kept telling me to take to for now 3rd gear to be grinded out. Head gaskets went in it as well they kept it for over 2 months to not even put parts back together properly, axle is bad. Leaking oil somewhere where still , this fan flapper thingy in the front is bad and been since day 1 there is a bad sensor on it which they told me they fixed and clearly didn’t. I have had nothing but issues on this vehicle since I got it. It sees more garages than it does outside. I have 4 kids. Making a lot of trips to doctor appointments and such. . So I need a vehicle, they don’t care. I went to the dealer yesterday and they just told me to take it to another place to get the transmission rebuild or whatever but I feel that isn’t going to fix it and I’m just gonna have more issues in the long run. Can you guys help me at all ?! I need something done. My warrenty is up soon and they only cover 8,000 of the tranny and it’s a 10,000 tranny.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle started to sway from left to right, and a message displayed reading "stability control system fault". No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the rear passenger’s side cradle was fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
The contact owns a 2023 braunability Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and using the power chair with hand controls, the drivability was terrible. While driving at various speeds, it was difficult to stay in the intended lane. The lane sensing feature was loose and failed to the vehicle failed to steer correctly. While driving at various speeds, the steering wheel was stiff. While making turns, the vehicle rocked. The driver turned the feature off. The contact stated that there was a 3- or 4-inch clearance between the underbody that was lowered once the driver and power chair occupied the vehicle, which continuously scraped the roadway. There was an abnormal rumbling noise detected from the vehicle. The ramp failed to unfold flat when exiting the vehicle. While using the ramp to enter the vehicle, the ramp was difficult to unfold. The vehicle continued to shake due to the exhaust system. Additionally, while utilizing the rear cargo area, the vehicle drove roughly. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

My vehicle developed a squeaking noise and led to a lower control arm malfunction I have searched the web and found that it's a common problem with a specific van my daughter owns one and developed the same problem this could result in loss of steering.

I have less than 30,000 miles on my 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. I was told by the dealership both my lower front control arms need to be replaced. I have been hearing this squeaky sound for a couple of months I did not expect anything like this. The dealership said this is not safety problem. When does it become a safety problem?.
Engine sub frame-aka engine cradle is rotting out. Vehicle was inspected on July 6, 2023 at jim rielh's Chrysler -Jeep dealership located at 32899 van dyke, warren michigan 48093. The report came back as " found front engine cradle / frame rotted / rusted out. " this vehicle has been well maintained and has been safety inspected by the same dealership in 2021 & 2022 and never advised there was a problem with the engine cradle. Now in 2021, three engine mounts were replaced to correct clunking noises when accelerating, but again there was never an advisement of a potential engine cradle rot. The vehicle had 127, 640 miles on it when it was inspected by the dealer. The results were reported to Chrysler customer care via email and by phone but no response as of today.

There is a prominent loud creak/squeak noise when locking the steering wheel all the way to the right, and slowly backing up. It is replicated every time. There is a v15 lower control arm recall on prior years, but this VIN was not covered. I am very concern it may be of similar issue, and makes me worried for the safety of my children.
I am requesting that NHTSA issue a recall for the known defect and serious safety hazard for the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. These vehicles need to be recalled effective immediately and removed from our highways. The engine cradle rot poses a a risk for accidents and the manufacturer is privy to these problems and had legal action taken against them for a similar notification of different years. The 2007 models should be recalled as well. Please issue the recall and do the right thing. Who knows, you may save someone’s life who is unaware of the dangerous equipment they are driving. Not to mention the manufacturer needs to either to buy back the vehicles, pay for the costly repairs and or compensate the owners who are unable to drive their vehicle or are forced to purchase another vehicle because Chrysler and those in authority have failed and refused to act with integrity and take action to make the recall. There are countless consumers who complain of the same problems of cradle rot, but nothing has been done. . Read more...
Hello this is an ongoing issue. This will be my third set of tires that are worn in a wavey patern. The stearing sticks when turning at around 40mph and the wheele doesnt return on its own also at low parking lot speeds it slips. I was made aware of this issue in the 2018 but I am tould this doesnt affect the 2017 but I am having the same issues. Thank you.
Is the subframe, engine cradle under recall for rust?.
Greetings, have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica that at 43k miles started making a front end noise. The steering wheel now sometimes locks into place for a second or two while turning. Dealership states it needs a needs rack and pinion. Contacted Chrysler as this was a cpo vehicle that supposedly was checked out drastically to be able to receive the cpo warranty. Issue started less than 1k miles after purchase. Chrysler states they will do nothing except warranty the new part which is 1800 alone. I’ve read a lot of people are having this issue. How can a car that the steering wheel locks into place not be considered for a recall?.
Multiple issues. First the ess system has malfunctioned twice since purchase in 2019, required maintenance and aux battery replacement twice within 1 year. The major issue is the breaks/rotors/suspension. For the last year and a half I have been taking the van in for inspections. . . Initially stated I did not need brakes/rotors at the dealership even though I was having slight squeaking and grinding, after bring it back a third time I was told OH yea you need them and its gonna cost $1,800. I then got a second opinion, they said the brakes and pads looked fine but if I wanted they would replace the pads in an attempt to make the squeaking stop. The squeaking stopped for about 10 days but the grinding and "metal rubbing" sound never has, they replaced the pads 3 more times. They stated it is not the brakes/rotors but fail to give a reason. He mentioned it is a body suspension issue, which I have been asking about for over a year. Very frustrating. Also my sliding van doors keep malfunctioning to work sometimes, or require manual opening and closing with no apparent reason. So disappointed with less then 60,000 miles.
There is a very loud creaking noise coming from the front driver side suspension. This happens every time when I put the vehicle in reverse and turn and lock my steering wheel all the way to the right and press the accelerator to back up. It doesn’t sound safe. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall).
The upper control arms bushings needed replaced due to a popping noise from the wheel any time I turned. You then could feel the pop under your feet when you turn. We got them fixed, but now it has started popping again just 2 weeks later. There is now a rattling/clanging noise coming from the feet area when you hit a bump. It’s pretty loud at times and you can feel vibrating in the steering wheel. I feel very unsafe with my two children being in the car and traveling around town. The auto start stop battery has also been replaced many times. It keeps going out and will make my car turn off while driving at times.
My vehicle at 28,k plus miles I noticed it seemed to slip. This would happen intermittently. I thought I was imagining it at first. Then it started to do a more violent jerking. The dealership did a reset. It started doing it a week later, and intermittently. I was also in the dealership because I was hearing a clunking noise in the rear when driving over uneven pavement, or backing out of my driveway. I have been waiting two months for rear struts to fix the issue. Vehicle sounds getting progressively worse and I'm concerned about driving. Today the rear struts wear promised to arrive. I was just told they will arrive sept 10, 2021. Three days ago, an alert symbol popped onto my dash screen -a yellow circle with an a inside followed by an exclamation mark. I am bringing my vehicle in on August 30, 2021. The dealer said I need to have the battery charged!? they are also going to reset the transmission slipping program, again. Are other 2019 vehicles having the same issues?.
The left ball joint (front lower control arm) became squeakier and squeakier until the mechanic said it should be replaced or risk it failing while I drive which could leave me unable to steer/control the car. The mechanic said the dealer ought to cover it since they recalled some of this model year for this same issue on the right side but not all of them. The dealer would not cover replacement.
First component failures - passenger sliding door: a) while driving, the passenger sliding door mechanism engages and attempts to open the door - the driver then sees a notification "to operate the sliding door, put the vehicle in park"; b) when parked, if the door is open and we want to close it, we can engage the closing mechanism with button or fob, but then it will not stop and re-open even if there is an obstruction; it has closed on my wife's arm and almost hurt one of the kids. One can even try to stop the door from closing with their full body weight, or the use of the door handle, and the mechanism simply continues to closure. C) when parked, if the doors are unlocked, the door will sometimes start opening and then go into a cycle of back-and-forth opening and closing for several minutes; the only way to stop it is use the button on the ceiling to turn off the automatic sliding feature. Second component failure: electrical. When we return home after driving the car, and turn it off, and go inside, the dashboard lights stay activated and the message on the dash says to depress the brake pedal and push the start button. This even happens when the keys are not present and doors are locked. We put both keyfobs on the other side of the house as a test, and the vehicle appeared ready to be started. The battery dies daily. Third component problem: suspension. This is a new vehicle we had converted into a wheelchair accessible vehicle by freedom motors in battle creek, michigan, with a rear-entry ramp. For a wheelchair passenger in the back, the ride is extremely rough and unstable (a lot of swaying on curves). The car passed maryland state inspection after it was delivered to us, but we doubt validity of any safety self-certification freedom did post-conversion. See these two videos: https://drive. Google. Purchased this vehicle in 2013, inquired about defects and recalls but was told there was none. Vehicle had 46,000 miles on it at time of purchase 104k presently. Good running vehicle up to par on maintenance, which all goes to waste with a rotted subframe. Researched 100's possibly 1000's of complaints online with the same issue, where was mentioned nothing was done about it. Contacted Chrysler myself to put in complaint and agent would not even forward it to the next level because the lack of recall or extended warranty. The cost for a new frame from a Chrysler dealer is over 2k and cost just as much to replace. But the part is on back order for weeks. (could this mean there are so many people in line waiting to order and needing this particular part?) cannot trust used parts because of many Chrysler Pacifica owners had to salvage their vehicle for the same reason. More of an investigation should be done into this. In the midst of a pandemic who can afford these outrageous, unexpected repair costs or even a new vehicle. My only option is to salvage it for way less that it's worth, as I mentioned it drive great! I cannot sell it to anyone else knowing the safety hazard it has on it and I cannot afford a car payment. I am fearful of my engine falling out of the bottom if I drive it. Something has to be done, too many vehicles with the same issue. Force a recall on Chrysler for their rotted subframes.

Vehicle was brought to dealership 3/9/21 for nocking on l/f. Dealer diagnosed strut as problem. Part is on b/o. Chrysler mfg. Has been contacted for assistance to secure part and attaching parts to remedy the situation. Currently they have not done anything but promise dates that parts will be available. (they are still missing two parts). They have not answered my request to provide solution or a rental so I can drive a safe vehicle. All of this is strange since Chrysler is actively building the car. One would think they have the parts on the assembly line! . . . . . . . . . . . . Thank you carl / galaxy medical.
Noticed a lot of clunking coming from the front of our 2006 Pacifica. Looked under vehicle and noticed rust and holes in the engine cradle. Took to my mechanic, he confirmed the engine cradle is about to fail. I contacted burger Chrysler in terre haute in. They stated vehicle is not under any recall or safety notice. And fixing it would be out of my pocket. I researched the vehicle on the NHTSA web site. Need less to say I'm ashamed to own one. Chrysler will not stand behind what they mess up.
Esp bas light came on and the steering wheel started to move left to keep the car going straight. Suddenly the right front tire hit the wheel housing and stopped. Upon inspection it was revealed the the cradle holding the front suspension had rusted and broke off. I was driving on a two lane state road and was able to pull to the shoulder.
The under carriage that holds engine in place is completely rusted through. I bought brand new tires from belle tire on September 9, 2020. By November 1 2020 I was observing extreme wear on the brand new tires. Went to my mechanic and was told the car is unsafe to drive due to the cradle rust rot, and the engine is about ready to fall out and would cause catastrophic emergency I and my family could die. Trying to find replacement and am being told it is such a problem that there is no parts available to fix this problem.

Tl the contact owns a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle swayed. The sway, electric stabilizer, and crash warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to walt massey Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (602 western bypass, andalusia, al 36420, (334) 226-8881) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an unknown sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 300. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that upon taking her vehicle to an independent mechanic for service, she was informed that the engine cradle was extremely corroded. The contact's husband called ed martin Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (2109 e 53rd st, anderson, in 46013) and was informed that the vehicle was not subjected to a recall. The contact's husband was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 190,000.
Vehicle was taken to service. Shop would not work on vehicle stating the deterioration of the subframe was to extensive and they would not work on it. Upon closer inspection showed the frame in a great state of decay, with some places only being held together with thin strips of metal. These vehicles were recalled in the past for defective frames however not all were recalled and this is one vehicle that was not. The motor in these vehicles will fall out and could cause an accident which could result in serious injury or loss of life. These frames are defective in workmanship from the factory and should be handled by the factory across all 2004-2008 Chrysler Pacifica's affected by defective equipment knowingly installed by the factory that will lead to an accident and cause serious injury or death. Thousands of these vehicles are on the road today with occupants unknowingly driving these vehicles which are "ticking time bombs".
Loud creaking noise (and sometimes what sounds like a spring) coming from the front passenger side suspension. At first this happened when the vehicle was backing up with the steering wheel turned and locked to the left. It's now extended to while braking. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall).
Engine cradle sub frame rusted through on one side causing the car to pull to one side.
My car was built in 2005 when the subframe recall was issued, I called them to try and get some help, basically get reimbursed for the labor of getting the replacement subframe installed. The old subframe finally broke while I was driving at city speeds and I was lucky that the shop I used let me know. When I contacted them, the statement was that due to the age and current mileage of the car, we can not help you. Now if I had of been on a road trip or driving at the speed limit this would have cause some serious damage. This is a safety issue to anyone who has this vehicle and has run out of warranty to get it replaced. Below are photos of the old subframe and the door sticker.
