My car was built in 2005 when the subframe recall was issued, I called them to try and get some help, basically get reimbursed for the labor of getting the replacement subframe installed. The old subframe finally broke while I was driving at city speeds and I was lucky that the shop I used let me know. When I contacted them, the statement was that due to the age and current mileage of the car, we can not help you. Now if I had of been on a road trip or driving at the speed limit this would have cause some serious damage. This is a safety issue to anyone who has this vehicle and has run out of warranty to get it replaced. Below are photos of the old subframe and the door sticker.

2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring has rusted engine cradle. For some reason this car is not covered for the recall but it clearly is affected by what ever the manufacturer failed to complete on car to ensure it would remain safe. I have a big whole and motor could fall out. I need help on trying to get expensive item paid for. The suspension is horrible all issues just not a good car at all.

The engine cradle on my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica touring is almost completely rusted and cracked through. I took it to the mechanic because it was shaking and bucking and was told to stop driving it because one more bump could break the cradle causing my engine to drop. It will cost thousands of dollars to replace it. More than the car is worth.
This is the second 2005 pacific that the rocker under the car is cracked and rusted away. I tookbthe car into monroe on jonestown rd harrisburg PA and they explained to me that it is so rusted that the motor will fall out and they wouldn't even do an oil change for me because they didn't want to damage it any farther.
I was driving in my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica on a rural street when it suddenly felt like the front passanger side tire had blown out. The car was difficult to control & and pulled to the right, pushing up against the curb. The car started to smoke and would not turn off. Concerned it was going to go on fire, my daughter & I ran out. When we were out of the car I saw that the front axle connecting the tire had come completely disconnected and dropped to the street while driving. I called 911 for help. The firemen arrived first. The car was still revving & smoking but they were unable to shut it manually so they had to lift the hood & cut the wires. The police arrived & investigated the area. They showed me the gauge mark from where the tire axle dropped in the middle of street which was behind where the car stopped against the curb. There were zero interferences in the area (pothole, debris, signs, railguards etc. ). It was a smooth street with a low, gradual curb. The officer told me that it was not my fault & due to a mechanical failure on the car. He wrote that in his report as well as on the notepad paper with his info & phone # to give the the dealership. 2 2018 recalls that may explain the problem, even though my VIN is not affected - which I would like further inspected, so I'm contacting the NHTSA to hopefully expand the recall VIN #s. *2018 Chrysler Pacifica recall, the front-axle half-shafts may have been incorrectly assembled, preventing the shaft from being properly secured to the constant-velocity joint. If the axle shaft disengages from the cv joint, the minivan will have a loss of drive or allow the vehicle to move. *Chrysler is recalling 47,771 of the 2018 Pacifica and Pacifica hybrid minivans because parts that connect key suspension and steering components on the right front wheel may fail, which could lead to a crash.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the whole front subframe was completely rotted and rusted out. The dealer trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram 1550 w springfield rd, taylorville, IL 62568 (217) 824-3377 researched the issue and stated that the manufacturer did not even make that subframe part anymore. The manufacturer had not been called yet by the contact. The contact stated the vehicle would not be able to go on a lift to have access to the damage. The failure mileage was 110,000. Tf.
The engine cradle is completely rusted through and motor mounts as well. I took into a shop,he refused to fix my idle pulley and told us it's unsafe to drive our 2006 Chrysler Pacifica.
We purchased this vehicle new in August 2019. Since, we have had it in for service multiple times concerning a popping/creaking noise from the front suspension. Most recently, the vehicle has been at the dealership/service department since February 8, 2023, and they are unable to remedy the issue. My own research shows a recall of approximately 48,000, 2018 Chrysler Pacificas, manufactured in the same plant as ours (windsor, on) concerning a faulty right-font lower control arm, which can separate from the steering knuckle, causing a loss in steering. I don't believe it is just a coincidence that we are having the same issue on our 2019 vehicle. Attached you will find all of the repairs made to our vehicle, however, the noise persists.

I purchased my vehicle 10/29/18 and its been a great vehicle til about July 2019. I have taken it to the dealership for them to fix a clicking noise in the front left side and everytime they change a bunch of parts but dont fix it. Now its a loud squeeking noise everytime I back out my driveway or pull off in drive. Ive taken 3 times and they cant figure out what it is. Ive have to rent a vehicle and the dealer also let me use a 2 door loaner knowing I have 4 kids. They keep saying bring it back Monday. Well thats only 1 problem. 3 times already when I put my car in reverse my backup camera comes on but dont go off when I put it in drive. So while im driving down the road my backup camera is on and is very distracting and dangerous. This past weekend my husband was driving while we were going somewhere, well we were in traffic on a very steep hill so he had to stop. When he went to step on the gas to go the car wouldnt go. It was like the car wasnt getting signal that the car was in drive. It was very scary. So many problems with this vehicle and the reason I purchase the 2018 Pacifica was because I heard it was a good car and dependable as I have 4 children that I have to get to and from school , doctors and sports. I really hope someone there at Chrysler can help me out.
My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring needed tires so I took it to bell tire, and they called me and wanted me to come to there shop so they could tell me what was wrong and found that sub frame is completely rusted through and was not safe to drive. . .
Loose feeling in front end while driving the car and going over bumps in the road, had vehicle serviced 4 times by 2 service places, the noise still exists and I am concerned something will happen driving my car so I have rented a vehicle a few times to make sure of mine and my family's safety, this issue has been going on for 2 to 3 months now and every technician can"t seem to duplicate the noise that we feel when going over bumps,it almost feels like something is bobbling around under the car, this issue also affects the steering when making a left turn and it makes some sort of rubbing or knocking noise, this has been so frustrating and I am concerned that something will happen if I don't get this car fixed,I hope someone out there can help me,colleen hopkins 4/13/19,thank you.
Sub frame rusted through.
I am clearly having transmission issues. At 45,000 miles, I have taken the van in twice so far and no solution is successful. First service was to address the transmission recall which was merely a software modification. This did not fix the issue. I took it in again and the service department could not replicate the issue. I am getting a major kick in the shifting during low speed movement. It happens around 15 mph when acceleration holds steady. It is a violent kick as if another vehicle has hit the rear of our van. This is not ok, nor does it seem healthy for the state of the rest of the moving parts associated. The other issue is within the front suspension. Over even the smallest of bump or uneven road surface, it feels as if something is loose. I had it into the shop to check the struts, joints, etc, and they are ok, but something is not right and I begin to wonder if this vehicle is safe for my wife to drive my family around town in.
Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler pacifca. . The contact stated that while driving about 39 mph, an unusual noise was heard from the front passenger's side. There was no warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that rt side motor and strut were broken. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the warranty expired. The contact was told to call the NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. . The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. Fe.
The front axle broke with no evidence of impact or damage. The axle broke while operating the vehicle at less than 30 mph on a residential street. The vehicle has approximately 12,700 miles on it. The dealership cannot identify a reason for the front axle breaking. This caused the vehicle to be unable to steer accelerate, go forward, or go in reverse.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v143000 (suspension). The contact called seaside Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram at 831-394-6666 (located at 3 geary plaza, seaside, CA 93955) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Pacifica was coming to a stop after a military checkpoint and the vehicle stalled while coming to a stop. The speed was less than 30 miles per hour the vehicle showed a service electronic suspension and needed to be placed in park to restart. It did restart immediately.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard a loud abnormal noise. The contact was able to park the vehicle on the side of the road. While she was exiting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the front driver's side wheel was turned completely to the left. The vehicle was towed to orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 64600 van dyke, washington, mi 48095, (586) 430-5086) where it was diagnosed that the tie rod and axles needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 9,605.
Transmission shifting issue. Vehicle was at a complete stop. When acceleration from stop and making a right turn , the vehicle acted like it slipped out of gear and back into gear. This caused a violent motion in the car. This is a repeated issue with this van. At times when I step on the gas to accelerate the transmission does not always engage properly and it slips causing a delay in taking off. I have had it back to the dealer for all upgrades or reprograms for this problem and yet the problem still persists.
We have a 2017 Pacifica and noticed a clunking in the front of the car we are about 4,000 miles over the 36,000 warranty and they are telling us that the driver side strut needs to be replaced and Chrysler is not willing to budge and fix this problem. I accepted this decision and went to purchase the part from a part shop and no one can get a replacement strut for a 2017 Pacifica. I feel this should be covered and is not something that should have gone bad this soon.
Suspension broke, while driving on I 75 in london ky; airbags never deployed; vehicle became uncontrollable! can't seem to get any answers from Chrysler??.
Recently bought a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. After doing some research online I discovered that there has been thousands of complaints about the engine cradle rusting out due to Chrysler improperly coating the framework. I naturally went out to look at mine to make sure it did not have the same problem. I was very disappointed. I bought this vehicle for a family vehicle and now do not feel safe driving it with my 4 children and cannot afford the repairs as my savings was used to purchase said vehicle. One would think after thousands of such dangerous claims that the NHTSA would do something about this.
When accelerating the van jerks then picks up more speed. Sometimes when pressing the gas pedal from park it takes a while to start moving. The shifter gets suck and the doesnt get off the emergency brake.
Took the car in for exhaust work. The mechanic did a safety inspection and told me the sub frame is severely rusted out, and should be replaced soon. If not addressed soon it could become a safety hazard, due to lack of driver control issues.
First the drivers side front strut is making noise already has been to dealer for it still doing same thing. Hatch doesn't open all the time, passenger sliding door making noise both issues taking to dealer still not right and making noise, drivers side sliding door just closed. While driving car car will just not go at all dealer did software on it and it's still doing same thing. Dealer had my car for well over a week for it to be doing the same thing have another appointment Monday 12/10/18 . I hate this car wish I kept my other one.
Random stalling w/ all functions stopping. Brakes, steering. . Ect. Took it to several licensed/certified mechanics and not 1 of them can tell me what is wrong. This has nearly caused 2 serious crashes so I no longer allow anyone to ride in the car with me. The stalling has happened on the highway going nearly 70mph, on a 2 lane highway through town with heavy traffic going approx. 35 mph, its happened in my neighborhood street, on the way home from work on a country road (several times). The vehicle hasn't ever stalled while running and stationary. For me this has only happened while in motion.

Exessive cradle rot or rust holding ip engine. Makes it unsafe to drive. Can put my hand in frame through rust hole. This was brought to my attention by northgate Chrysler on colerain in cincinnati. The service manage says she sees a lot of this problem.
After doing a major repair of $800 on my car for a new water pump and timing chain. I was told that my cradle holding the engine in place could drop any minute because of the rust. My mechanic informed me that he would not recommend driving this vehiclebecause at anytime the egine and steringcolom could fall out any monent. The cradle hold these items in were rusted out so bad. . I looked online and noticed there was many people complaining of this. Let's get something done before someone dies. Thank you my mechanic toke pictures of all this rust. But I was unable to get them. But I'm sure I'm not the first to complain. Please reconsider this recall. Thank you.

I recently purchased a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica I got my vehicle into the shop to have the air conditioner fixed. I received a call from the shop telling me my vehicle was unsafe to drive that the subframe in the front is rusted through. After doing some research this is an ongoing problem with Pacifica engine cradles the cost to fix it will be 4,000 that's what I paid for the vehicle.
Severely rusted sub frame. I purchased this car new. Chrysler has know about the problem for years but I was never notified me to periodically inspect the sub frame. If a mechanic hadn't noted the hazard I would be in grave danger continuing to drive the car. With only 35,000 miles on the car, and the car looking in pristine condition, I never expected this kind of problem.
