The driver side air bag light come on and stay on after all other light go out. When the car gets up to 20 mph makes a ding ring sound but light stays on. I was going to take to the Chrysler dealership to have them look at. Then I saw morgan freeman on tv about the airbag recall, but I did not see my car. Please advise if I should take to shop to have it looked at thanks.

Upon starting vehicle all warning test lights such as airbag,oil pressure etc. Come on as normal,but often the red "airbag" light stays on indefinitely or goes off then bells and "airbag" red light reappear and stay on 5 to 10,seconds then go off every few minutes for several seconds. This seems to occur when I am in 1000 to 1500, low rooms like when I'm slowing to make a stop. Yesterday, the airbag light stayed on the entire 20 minute trip. I took car in for repair on my own $ but problem returned. Problem has occurred at all,highway and street speeds but mostly with deceleration turning the airbag off. Very dangerous. Why haven't you put the Pt Cruiser on the airbag recall list? I bought the car new in 2002 and am,the sole owner.

Passenger seat airbag light remains off when unoccupied, goes on and chimes when someone is seated. Horn sticks. Overheats when idled short periods (traffic lights, etc. ) blows cold air when at idle, only provides heat when rolling. All these problems are common to this vehicle.

The horn does not work properly and is defected. It only works when the steering wheel turns to the left and sometimes it gets stuck and won't turn off. Won't work while traveling straight or turning right. The horn did not allow me to warn a driver that almost backed into me, this forced me to move away from him in an unsafe position and he still did not see me and kept on backing out. Had the horn worked it would have prevented this issue that almost cause an accident. I drove home to inspect the horn as to why it wasn't working is when I learned that it only worked while sitting still and turning the wheel to the left and at times it stuck and wouldn't turn off. I don't know how long it has been like this because I don't use it very often, until this particular incident happened. Also the passenger air bag shows to be off with air bag light on.

Also, the horn did not work due to the air bag indicator that was wired into the horn. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact called an unknown Chrysler dealer and was advised that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The dealer stated that if there was a failure with the horn or air bag, the repairs would be at the contact's expense. The failure mileage was 77,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an independent mechanic on multiple occasions where the catalytic converter, cpu, spark plugs, and fuel cap were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 151,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. While the vehicle was parked, the air bags deployed when the vehicle was started. The air bag warning indicator illuminated before the deployment. The failure mileage was 15,770.

The air bag light came on and the dealer would not work with me. They want to charge $550 dollars to fix the air bag. But said that it may be more to fix it as of March 9th 2015 many air bags have been reported to NHTSA from Chrysler corp. The whole car is a mess with many brake downs. Driving my vehicle on a highway, approaching the city, with cruise control on. Weather clear and sunny. Highway traffic was light. My speed was at around 70 mph. The driver apparently decided to exit the ramp as it was lined with vehicles. The driver pulled out of ramp and steered to left lane on highway, in front of me. I had to brake suddenly to avoid collision. My car suddenly skidded and spun around once, with rubber burning from tires. My vehicle nearly crashed against the rail as my car skidded for 2nd time to stop. No injuries or property damages. Inspected my car later at gas station. Did not detect any visual problems. Could not figure out why my car skidded and spun around on highway. After the shopping trip, I drove home with no incidents. As I pulled in home, there was smoke coming out of under hood. My car was inspected by two mechanics, from separate time and location, and I was told my cooling fan broke. Possible that the incident leaded the fan to shut down due to mechanical error, the first mechanic said. Cost to replace the cooling fan and labor can run as high as $400. Also, the airbag light, on dashboard, stays on most of time.

The air bag light comes on and chimes all the time. No one even has to be sitting in the seat. Goes off all the time. The air bag will not work if it is in a crash. This should be recalled and fixed.

The drivers side airbag light had come on and when I brought it to the dealer they informed me that indeed the airbag was not communicating with the rear bumper and I would have to pay four hundred dollars for a new sensor. I was told that the good news was it won't deploy while driving but it won't deploy if it's in an accident. Yeah. The dealership refused to fix it and that it was my problem.

The problem I have been having with the air bag light of my 2005 pt convertible cruiser has been going on for 7 years and 6 attempts to fix it. Chrysler customer care service has authorized the napleton dealership in lake park, florida, to fix the problem with the air bag light twice: once in September 2012, and most recently in may 2014. The service department performs the same replacement of the harness buckle apparatus each time, but that is clearly not the underlying reason that the air bag light comes on after every attempt to fix it. After the fourth attempt to fix it failed by a different dealership in tallahassee, florida, it was suggested that the underlying problem was probably with the entire wiring system of the car, but during the 5th and 6th attempts to repair the air bag light, the dealership did not seem willing to look into this and ended doing the exact same repair that has been attempted for 7 years. Meanwhile I have been told that the car is not safe to drive when the air bag light is on.

"takata recall" after starting the car the airbag light comes on when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. This has been happening since 60,000 miles. I have had my car hooked up to a machine to tell me what the light is supposed to mean and no codes come up. Each time the light appears it will make a ding sound about ever 30 seconds. I've tried checking the fuse and checking to make sure there weren't any lose wires. This is driving me crazy and makes me wonder if my passenger airbag is going to pop out at any min. This has to be dangerous so I have to warn people before they sit there and most of the time they elect to sit in the back seat and I'm up front like a personal driver.

Occasionally the airbag light will work normally; issue seems to be related to whether the seat is occupied when the engine is started, or occupied after the engine is started. The airbag light and chimes would come on whenever a passenger would sit in the front passenger seat. Codes b1b56 and b1b54 came up. The seatbelt buckle was faulty and needed to be replaced for $267.

I think their is a serious safety concern on the 2008 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The air bag off light on the dash is supposed to be illuminated when less than 30 lbs is in the seat. The airbag light off light never comes on. The airbag problem light however does come on and dings constantly. I have no idea if the passenger air bag is even working. I have seen this problem all over the internet and I think it is common. I do not think this should be overlooked.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser, that was not involved in a collision or any type of damaging incident however the occupant classification system in the passenger seat is now malfunctioning to the point where if anyone or anything is in the seat the airbag light in the instrument cluster turns on and the notification chime sounds. The dealer has estimated that $500 would be a good start to repairing the problem, which has not been completed yet.

While driving down the freeway the door locks started clicking like they do when hitting the wireless remote. At the same time the flashers would go on. This continued intermittently all the way to work on city streets as well. I have not contacted the dealer at this time. My passenger airbag light went on, sometimes when I was driving. I took the car in to my mechanic in January for a complete brake job. The rotors needed replacing. I had less than 10000 when the car would shimmy violently when the brakes were applied. I took it back to my mechanic, and he informed me that the rotors were not of a material made to with stand much heat. He advised a beefier rotor. There was now a heavy duty rotor available on the after-market. I did not take this problem to the dealer because they most likely will tell me I was too hard on the brakes. If that were the case the Honda, which had 107000 miles on it would have been in for brakes several times by now, it was on the first set and finally needed pads. . Another car did not see me coming and pulled out in front of me. When I went to hit the horn it would not honk. I had to reposition my hand several times to find the right spot and then push very hard. I planned to get rid of this car and never purchase another american car again. I have always had nothing but trouble with them. * ak.

I purchased my 2002 Pt Cruiser with only 34,000 miles on odometer in January of 2006. Within six (6) months, the airbag light came on for no reason. I paid $1,000. 00 to have the airbag assembly replaced and once again within six months, the airbag light came on. I was told this time that it was the airbag sensors that needed to be replaced.

He noticed this on 9-5-05 as he was backing out of his driveway, he heard a clicking noise, and then the air bag light came on . He had not taken vehicle to a dealer yet. There were other complaints of the same exact problem filed on the NHTSA website. The contact indicated vehicle had not been in an accident of any kind. There was recall 04v480000 on certain 1998 Dodge vehicles pertaining to the clockspring that the consumer thought may relate to his problem. The dealer would not cover the cost of the part or labor.
