My exterior front lights are very dull and aren't bright when turn them on.

Taillight socket melted causing lamp to burn out, and burnt socket. A new lamp was purchased a month previous, and was clear. Lamp now appears like Mercury in color, and cracked upon removal.

My car was idling and than I drove it home on a city street in our neighborhood. About 4 minutes away from my house. Dling in park; seatbelt light kept dinging on; speedometer kept jumping back and forth from 0-100; idling at traffic stop; car shutters like it will cut off; speedometer jumps around while car is not moving. Pcm/tcm replaced multiple time; battery loses charge for no known reason; have had problems w/engine light coming on, pay for sensors and parts needed only for the same issue to happen. These cars are dangerous! something needs to be done to fix this issue. I am a single mom, my son and I were in the car and we were scared. Could of caused an accident.

Car engine shuts off without warning while driving and/or while making turns, or after coming to a stop and steering freezes; engine revs up and down while driving and cannot accelerate; difficulty restarting; interior light blinks and all dashboard gauges suddenly ceased working; replaced rear quarter glass, broken fastener caused car to flood. Part recall no. G01 and I had it replaced. Car has been inspected by mechanics and issues cannot detected nor fixed.

The contact owns a 2003 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. While driving 35-40 mph, the front amber head lamps failed, which resulted in a front end passenger collision. The front passenger wheel detached from the vehicle during the crash. The contact stated that the glove box fractured and separated upon deployment of the air bags, which caused facial injuries to the front seat passenger. The front seat passenger sustained lacerations to the face, a fractured eye socket, and a fractured nasal passage. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 09e012000 (exterior lighting) and NHTSA campaign number: 08e033000 (suspension). The approximate failure mileage was 112,450.

The lock on the back gate will randomly disengage. This causes the interior dome light to come on and drain the battery. I find that it mainly happens when closing the doors with all the windows rolled up. If a window is down, it does not happen as often.

Car went completely dead at car wash at night leaving me and my young granddaughter stranded until we could get a jump. This happened several times with the battery not having any problems nor any lights being left on in interior. Happened to notice the other day the fog lamps were on but the switch was not turned on. It was draining the system. Had to pull the fuse to fog lamps in order to stop the drainage. This has left me stranded with small children forcing reliance upon strangers in order to restart the vehicle, on more than one occasion. Now the fog lamps are inoperative until a fix can be found, which could lead to a potential collision if driving in foggy conditions which could prove fatal due to it being a convertible. Front tires keep going flat and I am told because car heavy in front. I air them once every 2-4 weeks. Front lamps are not strong enough and hard seeing at night. Car purchased from bellevue, wa Ford which just burned down few weeks ago as a used car and was not informed of this.

I drive a 2007 t cuiser and have on and off again issues with my center dashboard lights coming on and gauges going up and down. Engine almost stalls in heavy traffic. This has happened several times and the mechanics cannot find any issues with wiring, grounding, battery, alternator, switches, etc. Happens at any time. Will be fine for a short period of time and then it will start to do it again. This takes place sitting still and in heavy traffic. Chrysler better take note and figure this out or they will have a huge lawsuit like what is going on with gm. Many people with the same complaints; how is it no one is concerned? scared to drive my vehicle.

Driving along at any speed the dashboard lights flicker from bright to dull.

My battery lite comes on when started and stays on. . Have had battery, cables,etc etc checked and all show good. . . Also the air conditioning works very little but according to all the mechanics that have checked it over everything shows in good working order. . . I was told by a mechanic at the Chrysler dealership that it needs to be put on a machine for $100 an hour and if it shows the "main computer module" then these issues are "infixable". . It is something I will have to "deal with" and hope that there really isnt anything serious wrong he tells me. . . Same way with the fog lites on the car. . They come on and go off. . Sometimes they comeon and wont go off. . . Again I was told it was "unfixable"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I work hard every day and pay my bills. . . I cant afford to be told that these issues with my car are "unfixable". . . Somebody help!!!!.

My wife's car has had issues since we got the car. I have had the battery replaced and it is still not holding a charge. I found that while jump starting the car, you get sparks as you attach the cables. This is evidence of a short somewhere in the vehicle. The issues that I have found are nonfunctional interior lights, mirror controls, door locks, and radio. I have found recall information on vehicles with this same year, make, and model. Upon calling daimler Chrysler I was informed that this vehicle was not involved in this recall. I MA having the same issues as vehicles in this recall.

Vehicle multi switch failed, causing stock foglights to short, in turn, draining the battery while vehicle was idle and turned off.

While driving my 2008 Pt Cruiser home, all of the dashboard lights came on at one time and stayed on for the ten minutes it took me to get home. They came on again briefly two more times for no known reason. I searched the internet and found several possible solutions, wrote them down and I took the car in to the Chrysler dealer in escondido, California. The dealer was unable to replicate the symptoms after checking everything on the vehicle so there was no repair made. I took the car home. Again in may, 2012, the car's instrument panel lights came on all at once and briefly while driving home. This is an extremely unsafe issue for consumers to deal with and I also urge an investigation and recall of the instrument panels on the 2008 Pt Cruisers.

I unlocked my car doors with remote, and drove to the store, it was dark out so I had my head lights on. When I came out of the store and tried to unlock my car, it would not work. So I manually unlocked the doors with my key. It was very cold weather at that time and my heater would not work as well then I turned on my car to go home, and my lights would not come on. And so I was towed home. The next day I took it in to a Chrysler repair shop and they did a quick check on it and said that it might be the electrical and they would have to go through the entire electrical to find the problem. They checked everything out without tearing the entire car apart and said that they could not find a problem with it. There went $100. 00 of my money to find out that they could not find the problem. I don't know what else to do to get the car repaired with out having to spend $1,000. 00 plus. . . . Which is a quote by the Chrysler repair. I have not been able to drive my car at night, due to no lights and now that we have hot 90 to 101 degree weather, I can not drive my car during this period of time due to not being able to use the air conditioner or to roll my windows down. I have spent over $3,000. 00 in repairs for my car and I have only had it for just two years. There is one thing after another with my car, the problems are having to replace parts and sometimes having to replace those same parts a year later when they have just ran out of the warranties. I have service records for all of these problems and it is almost 2 inches thick. I am on disability and it took me over a year to save the enough money to buy this car and I have no more money to fix it again. . . And I have to take it through deq here in oregon and it will not pass their test due to exhaustion problems with the emissions leaking as well.

My wife and I obtained a 2006 Pt Cruiser from her father in 2008 with 12,980 miles on the odometer. In 4 years we've added about 12,000 miles. Starting last winter, both while being driven at city speeds (30-45 mph) and while idling, this 2006 Pt Cruiser has periodically had a problem with the lights and gauges on the instrument panel. The needles all simultaneously switch back and forth rapidly, then go to the off position. The panel lights turn off at the same time, then after a few seconds to a few minutes, the panel returns to normal. Prior to last Friday, 10/12/2012, these incidents had not presented a danger or interfered with driving. However, on Friday, my wife was driving the car in heavy traffic, and this time the panel went haywire as described before, but the car suddenly lost all engine power. The car would not respond to her pressing the accelerator, and she was forced to coast to a slow roll in the 40 mph traffic! then, the engine reengaged suddenly and the car surged forward when she wasn't expecting it. She refuses to drive it again. Our local Chrysler service tech seemed to be completely unfamiliar with this problem when I described it to him, and a call to Chrysler corp llc proved useless. A cursory investigation online turns up dozens of this exact complaint over the past 5 or 6 years, and virtually all of them indicate a number of attempted solutions, including replacing the battery, the vacuum hoses, the wiring harness, the fuses, or the instrument cluster, and none of these apparently eliminate the problem. Is this as common a complaint as it appears to be? if so, how can it be resolved?.

The fog lamps will not turn off. About 6 months ago, the steering column had smoke coming from it and it seems that as a result, there is a short in the multifunction switch which caused the fog lamps to permanently stay on. Dashboard, inside, outside lights stopped working; windshield and back window wipers stopped working. According to dealership service dept. - instrument cluster need to be replaced; it happened again in 2011, and now again in 2012. Per dealership service dept. , CA law requires it be replaced - for safety sake.

High beam headlamps went off while driving at night. This occurred last oct. 2009. I replaced multi-function switch. Then last week oct. 3, 2010 same thing occurred. Almost got hit by another car while stopping without headlamps. I cannot see why Chrysler will not be held responsible for faulty switch. I will not drive at night until Chrysler comes up with a fix for its poor switch design.

Lights will not shut off due to defective switch.

Fog lamps stayed on when 2002 Pt Cruiser was turned off. After dissembling of the switch box the internal switch had arched enough that it welded itself together causing the plastic to melt and smoke. I used a real relay to rewire the circuit with a switch on the dash. This is in addition to rebuilding the front suspension and now I have a oil leak. Great car from Chrysler. I only have 74,000 on the car.

Windows go down on own or won't go down at all. Head lights come on when no one in car. Wipers come on when driving down road on own and go off on own.

2002 Chrysler Pt Cruiser multfunction switch smoking and short circuiting resulting in fog lamp failure.

I was informed by my neighbor that my fog lamps were on. Since I hadn't used them in over a month this came as a surprise. The switch was not on - nor would the lights turn off. Multi function switch shorted out causing lights to remain on. Leaving my wife unable to attend her chemo therapy session on time, due the need to get car jump started. After several days mis function was notice,brought to dealer and repaired by same at no charge .

Dome lights do not always go out when doors are closed. Sometimes dome lights come on when signals are used. Could run battery done if not noticed.
