I have a 2010 Sebring convertible touring that just had the brakes completly replaced from the calipers to the rotors. When the brakes are applied, there is a vibration that was present prior to the replacement. Despite still being a new brake system, it still vibrates. The vibration will cease if you brake hard.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated while having the vehicle serviced by an independent mechanic, she was informed that the brakes, rotors, and calipers all needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had since recurred every two months. The vehicle will be taken back to the repair shop where the brakes, rotors, and calipers would be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 70,000. Rvk.

When braking moderately, the front wheels shimmy and cause the steering wheel to vibrate so badly that you can not hold on to it. Could cause loss of control and an accident. It does not happen when braking lightly or hard unless you had already been braking moderately. Took vehicle to dealer and was told it was caused by warped rotors and since this was a component of the brake system, it was only covered by warranty for 12 months/12,000 miles. The vehicle had been in service for 17 months and had 19,000 miles on it. This could be a real safety hazard. I would think the warranty would cover the rotors, calipers, and brake lines but not the disk pads or shoes. Rotors should not warp in 17 months or 19,000 miles.
While driving about 20 mph there was a loud noise, left wheel pulled to left and skidded. Towed to dealer, left front caliper had come loose and locked up tire.

Caliper bolts were not properly put into the brakes from the factory. They were not bolted in all the way, causing one to be sheared off completely and the other one bent into an "s" shape. Dealership stated that brakes are under a 13,000 mile warranty. My car has 16,000 miles, dealership did not cover under warranty. Car was taken & repaired at automotive repair shop.
