Horn and passenger side low beam went out on my 4-cyl. 2. 4l 2008 Chrysler Sebring sedan about a month ago. I replaced the bulb, which is labor intensive on this car in itself and the low beam still did not work. I tested the new bulb and it worked fine. I moved the bulb to the drivers side headlamp and it worked fine. The harness for the bulb connector carries a 12v current but still the low beam does not work. Every online search points to a faulty tipm(totally integrated power module). I can't afford a new one at $595 and that's if I replace it myself. I'm unable to find a compatible used part at salvage yards in the area and Chrysler dealer says there is currently a month long national backorder on the part and is unsure if I'll have a replacement in a month. This alone should be a red flag that there is an underlying issue at Chrysler. In the mean time I continue to search salvage yards and am looking for a way to bypass the tipm to get the headlamp working, which in itself could still leave me open to other failures on the tipm. All this said, I'm wondering if other electrical components will start to go soon as well. As it is I'm having a problem with the horn, which I believe also runs through the tipm.

The car will stop suddenly while driving I've been told its an electrical issue in the transmission, but I see from the recalls that Chrysler knows about these issues yet these cars are still been sold and driven even though they can have very dangerous consequences. The doors locks and unlocks on their own, the lights flicker. The car will also while in park jerk and rev as if someone is hitting the gas even though they are not, this also happens when in drive and my foot is on the break.

The engine light came on I took it to the local repair shop to be checked they could not find anything and reset the light. A few days later the light came back on and the car stalled in the middle of the hiway. I was able to get it back to the repair shop where they are working to find the issue at this time. They have changed the spark plugs and a sensor because that's what the reader said to do but the car is still dying and has reduced speed.

Horn blares randomly and cannot be stopped without removing the horn relay making the horn (a safety requirement) inoperable. Dealer was able to repair the issue, however, at a cost of over $672 as the dealer marked the replacement part 1az56xdvae driver airbag. Many owners likely would not get this issue repaired due to cost thereby driving a car with unsafe equipment.

Igination issues my steering wheel locks on me. I have to sit for at least 5 mins before I can turn the key to start my car. As in driving my car acts as if it wants to stop while driving.

Passenger window exploded in the door while touching control button for window to open to ask directions. Had to travel by myself to mexico 300 miles away and had to drive all the way back to las vegas with no window. The driver's side window did the same exact thing last summer in 2015. Called fca customer assistance center everyday for a week now and they told me my case was being escalated to a case manager. They would not help me. All I want is for Chrysler to pay for the repair of my defective window. I called 1-800-992-1997. They call themselves fca customer assistance center. They were a waste of my time and effort. Last window on driver's side did the very same thing. I want satisfaction!!! I want the window repaired by chyrsler on them as I repaired my last window blowout. Can any one suggest some help as I really need it today and even last week? I'm afraid of driving my own car. Chyrslers should either bring their windows up to new standards (electrically) or not sell any to people who live in the desert. They are not safe!!! this car is always garaged and has low mileage as I worked close to home. What's this world coming to? who's out there to help me? chyrsler sure is not!!! only god!!!!!!!!! I stopped for directions on this last window explosion, but the other window I was driving to the hospital without stopping.

Backed out of a parking spot shifted into drive engine bucked twice and stalled. A few minutes later was stopped at red light, with foot on brake engine surged and car lurched forward.

Takata recall. During the course of a year since I've purchased this car, I have experienced issues with what I believe to be power steering. Twice while coming to a stop (stop sign or light), my steering would lock along with my brakes. When I took it to a shop I was told my thermostat needed replaced. I told them to fix the issue. On April 17th while driving home from work a little after midnight this same issue occurred only while I was still driving. I was able to force my wheel to turn enough to drive up the bend I was driving around rather than the school in front of me. Finally I hit a pole and my car has been ruled as a total loss. I have many concerns in regards to what actually happened and why.

I brought my car in 2009. My lights have blinked from the start. On August 11, 2015, I drove 1 hour and 17 minutes 59. 5 miles in moderate traffic. I arrived at agency. I exited the car. About 5 minutes later, I returned to my 2008 Chrysler Sebring and entered my car. I started the car as normal applying the brakes while shifting gears and put my car in reverse with acceleration. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off in the middle of the busy road and I had to apply the brakes quickly while rolling and in motion. My dad and I put a diagnostic on the car and it read a code. We checked the potential problems. The only problem was the transmission fluid. We refilled the transmission fluid. On March 4, 2016, I drove 51 minutes 33. 4 miles in moderate to heavy traffic. I arrived to a military location. I exited the car. About 3 minutes later, I returned to my 2008 Chrysler Sebring and entered my car. I started the car as normal applying the brakes while shifting gears and put my car in reverse with acceleration. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off in the middle of the busy road and I had to apply the brakes quickly while rolling and in motion. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off. My dad and I checked the transmission fluid and the transmission fluid seemed okay this time. The 2008 Chrysler Sebring dangerously shuts off while rolling and in motion. No light stays on during the duration of the trips to warn me of anything that may be malfunctioning. I called the dealership that I had been taking my car in for service since I brought it. The Chrysler dealership has expressed uncertainty about finding the problem. I spoke with corporate with my VIN and they did not help.

My back lights work as long as the car is in park. But when I shift into drive they go off. I only know this because other drivers that was driving behind me told me so. I have been told it is tipm module. I do not have a $1000 for the repair so I only drive it in the day time.

I bought the car 1/02/2016 2 weeks later I am in motion I put my foot on the brake at a red light it takes off on its own,cuts off when I make a stop.

The horn goes off without warning. The first time is happened was a couple of months ago while driving down a city street at 6:10am (taking my child to school). The horn went off a various times (while driving down major city streets) for a few days. On Saturday 1/2/16 I started (in my driveway) the car and the horn went off. I pushed the steering wheel the horn stayed on, next I pushed the panic button, it stayed on until I pushed the panic button a second time about 2 minutes later. Then on the same day while driving on a (main city street) the horn went off four times within five minutes. However, each time it the horn turned off when I pushed the steering wheel. This morning 1/4/16 the horn went off several times back to back for about a minute, only turning off when I pushed the steering wheel. Did a google search and found 57 complaints (complaint. Com) about the same horn problem. Suggested I add my voice to what is clearly a problem.

My horn goes off for no apparent reason. While driving down the road it goes off and to get it to stop I had to hold my hand lightly over the air bag and horn buttons on the steering wheel.

The horn starts blowing randomly while driving and will not shut off without hitting on steering col. . . Reviewed problem online and noticed this was a issue with this car. Had to pull the fuse to stop the horn from blowing on several occasions. . Problem has happened while sitting stationary with keys not in ignition, while driving and while parked.

I am joining the many other owners who's horns go off, with out warning car off or car on. At the same time the horn now seems to have stopped working entirely leaving me no way to warn other drivers that do not see me. I can confirm the costive a repair is on the $1100 range and my local Chrysler reports they do this repair 4 times per week, nationwide. This repair is out of my budget and I think Chrysler needs to recall and repair these vehicles. The horn has gone off in stationary, motion, on a city street and highway and turning. Even with the engine shut off in the wee hours of the morning. Below you ask when did this happen? at least 20 times. The horn switch indeed includes the air bags. No way to test them but I fear they are not working as this switch is bad. I hope I don't find out the hard way.

Horn goes off all by it's self when car is off any time of day or night only way I could get it to stop was to pull horn fuse witch may disable airbag . Possible cause is a clock spring in witch dealer claims to have never heard of before but when typed on line about it the problem it finishes your sentence. Sounds pretty common to me. This problem could cause the airbag to fail and cause injury to the driver or death.

First I went to start the car, I noticed the battery wasn't starting. I open the hood and tried to move the battery post, they were tight, but the plastic cover on the post started sending sparks out when I touched it. After a while I tried to start it again and it started right up. Then I noticed the malfunction indicator light came on. I let it run for about a minute then I turned it off. I didn't drive it at all that day. Later I checked it again. It didn't start. So I did the same thing again it started right up but the electronic throttle control light was on as well. I was afraid to drive it I thought the sparks might make it catch on fire. I think there were a recall on this car a while back. I've never had a problem with this car. I know that many people have had this same problem on their Chrysler vehicles. I read about many other problems as well. What should I do next? I'm really not interested in paying any deductibles and car repairs at this time. Help!!! is this anything that I need to worry about?.

I took my car to get diagnostic for smog. The shop I took it to smog Smart explain they have dismateled my car claiming engine, coolant, and timing belt. They have removed parts and claim they contacted Chrysler and its company states its repairs is not worth the vehicle. The engine claim, the coolant claim and timing belt they have made against the manufacture. The engine checked fine before dropping the car off. The car would stop due to heating the fuel running since the car had been a non op for 3 years andreason for smog. The car was deliberatley dismanteled can I get its information of the claim the smog mart 7070stockton sacramento CA 95820 is making so I can settle with the sheriffs in there distruction of my proeprty without invoice signature to remove any partys on my car except ordered to run diagnositcis.

Vehicle shuts off while driving.

Fuse 8 under hood, 20a fuse. Chrysler has a couple of branch circuits downstream of this and collectively an increased load condition causes an overload on startup only. Instant burn fuse cant cope. The problem is design, there are 4 circuits fed downstream on that fuse, if the collected load builds some resistance it will exceed the capacity of the fuse. I am currently changing the fuse daily just to start my car and go. And sometimes have to change it again before leaving my destination. I did some research online by resulting to google and there are countless other people with this same problem. I was told not to put a larger fuse in there for it may catch fire because of not allowing the fuse to blow when it needs to blow. It seems to be a problem with Chrysler set up and to be not actually anything broken with my car. What do I do?.

Thhe stearing will lock up and belt will sqeel even when the belt is tight got worse till line blew wide open not good when having kids thank god not in car when it happen. Almost lost it. This is not a normal thing ive looked alot up on this.

To whom it may concern, on Thursday, may 13, 2015, at approx. 2:00 p. M. , I was breaking to make a right turn onto another road when I noticed my car kept accelerating when my foot wasn't on the gas pedal. (there are no floor mats in the car). My boyfriend was sitting in the passenger seat. I had never experienced this in my life! I kept my foot on the brake and each time I let off the brake, the speed accelerated w/o my doing it. My boyfriend put the car in (n) & told me to pull over in the grass off the shoulder. He then turned off the ignition. (it was a mix of grass & mud). I needed assistance to get unstuck. Thankfully, I was able to get the car to stop before going into an intersection that was just ahead. With the car off, my boyfriend pumped the gas pedal aprox 3 times then started my car. The problem had stopped. I was very shaken up since realizing I we &/or others could've been killed because of this defect. I purchased this car on 4/2/15 from an individual. Takata recall my etc light flashes and you cant accelerate the only way to get it to go off is turn car off then back on . I've put new throttle body and ecm on it but still have the problem. Help if you have any advice.

I am writing to the national highway traffic safety administration to file a complaint against the fiat-Chrysler company. Since the beginning of February 2015, my horn has been going off when my is parked at night time, and therefore many complaints have been reported by my neighbors, when my horn automatically goes on during the hours of the night, it is very upsetting having to explain my situation to the neighbors. A technician at one of the fiat-Chrysler repair centers diagnosed the problem and stated that the problem was the due to a bad switch that controls the driver¿s side airbag and horn, and that would cost over $1,000 to repair. The dealership stated that I would have to repair it because it wasn¿t recall issue. Because of the fact that I am on permanent disability and on a very low income, I am unable to afford to repair it. Vehicle shifts hard from drive to any gear, does not matter if it is taking off or stopping while hot or cold, while on highway at 50+ van will have a few seconds delay with accelerating to a higher speed, while on cruise control at 65 miles per hour when going up hill cruise will kick in and push the speed to 70+ from 60 mph,.

Having continual issues with lights on dash flickering: 2 repairs completed in last 18 months and still broke. Cosmetically, the car is crappy since the day I bought it; paint flaking off, tire rims have pitted, inside door handles flaking off paint too, among a few others. However, my heated seats burning through is what has me very irate! I was driving and had two adult passengers with me. Both of us in the front had the heated seats turned on returning home from running errands in the city 45 miles away. My passenger is 8 months pregnant and I have low lumbar issues, so heated seats are always used. We had both complained that we found it weird that if we made quick stops during our running, when we got back into the car and turned the heated seats on, it felt warmer than usual. However, if we were somewhere for a longer period of time, the seats didn't get terribly hot right away. The car sat for 48 hours before it was time for me to pack up and head back to my own home, when I noticed what I thought to be a stain on my seat (from my daughters dog thinking he was going with me). After trying to clean it and nothing happening, I touched it with my finger tip, only to find that it was a burn spot. If that would have caught fire while driving, I could have crashed! I could have killed my pregnant passenger, her hubby and her unborn baby! since today is a holiday, you can bet that I will be calling the dealership first thing tomorrow. I am the first and only owner of this car.

Car pulled out in front and hit the horn, which did not work, and now comes on only intermittently, or even on its own. This seems to be a common problem with the Sebrings and from blogs seems to be due to a faulty switch inside the airbag cover on the steering wheel. This is a terrible safety hazard and should have been recalled.

I recently got pulled over because my horn keeps going of uncontrollably! I had to take the fuse out and I've been pulled over twice because the horn goes off and distracts drivers unintentionally. They get mad and call the cops. . Then once this fuse is pulled the gas meter goes crazy and dumb. It said once we had half tank and we ran out as soon as we pulled out the driveway! this is a safety hazard!! this need to be recalled!!.

While a mechanic was working on my car he noticed that a wiring harness was fused together, and the fan was not working. I got on line and found that in November 2007 there was a recall (g39) and it was performed on my car( I purchased my car new in February 2007). There was no indication my car was running hot, but, it obviously could have caught fire . The wires were arcing. I immediately got an appt with a dealer on 11/18 and this time the following parts were replaced: jumper ra 08015002, motor rad 08034280 and shroud 07008002 free of charge . The original recall was called g39. The original recall only installed a fan motor overlay harness. The original recall obviously did not correct the original problem. But it took 7 years to happen again.

Oil light comes on a lot, especially when stopped, car smells badly of oil burning and smokes a lot, scary when driving, also air and heat only work on high very annoying I would never buy a Chrysler again.

My horn sounds continously in the middle of the night with no cause or prompting, causing unnecessary angst for me and discomfort for my neighbors.

This car should have had a recall for the bad suspension and for the horn. First of all I bought this car in early February 2007 from the dealer it was a certified used 2006 Chrysler Sebring touring. From the start the horn would blow at any given time. Secondly I have replaced every suspension part from ball joints, lower &upper control arms, inner &outer tie rods and on and on. I have friends that have the same model car and they have the same problems. That's not including the wheel bearing, water flange, oil pressure sensor.

Air bag indicator light constantly beeps and stays on for periods of time. When I'm on the on-ramp entering a highway and driving in a curve the brake indicator light comes on. Sometimes it comes on while driving on a flat surface. Since I've had this car, the right front tire pressure has never read. It just reads -- where the number should be. I have had to replace my crank position sensor twice. I lost acceleration while driving. The second time I had to replace the electrical throttle something (etc) as well. Now it is out a 3rd time. Luckily I was in my driveway this time! please recall!.

Ignition does not stay in position. It can move to acc or on position when car is started. Since it can be freely movable if the car is involved in an accident chances are the air bags may not deploy if key ignition not kept in on position. I called local dealer since this particular model is not on recall then I would have to pay to have it fixed. Other models from Chrysler are already on recall and this model needs to be added to it for the consumers.
