1 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

The vehicle will shut off while in motion. Stability light will illuminate, power steering, power brakes fail. Has happened on three occasions now, twice on city streets, once at highway speed.

2 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2012

2nd set of brakes prematurely failing. First set of front and rear brakes failed at 21,811 miles and were covered under Chrysler recall in 2010. The brakes installed at that time have failed with 45,000 miles on the vehicle with 23,189 miles on the brakes. Independent repair shop told me that 1mil was left on the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced as well. The repair shop said they have never seen anything like it before with such low miles and brakes completely shredded!!! he said that I was very close to complete loss of brakes which could have resulted in an accident. Total cost of repairs are $379 not including tax. There are thousands of other town and country owners that are having the same problems - when are you going to do something about!!! these vans are dangerous. Chrysler already replaced the front brakes for this vehicle once before for premature failure - there is obviously a issue with this van. I have contacted Chrysler today 8/22/12 and they refuse to acknowledge the problem and will not offer any assistance. The customer service rep exact words were "we don't know anything about a problem with the brakes. ".

3 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2010

We bought this van used in March 2010. It has been the worst vehicle we have ever purchased. Prior to this 2008 model, we had a 2005. We really liked it so we figured we'd upgrade so to speak. That was the most expensive mistake ever. Since then we have replaced the brakes and rotors twice and now it needs rear brake rotors. When I am braking at any speed the van shakes. The van feels completely unbalanced for some reason. We had an alignment done on it, new tires, a/c line broke, radio would stop working, and once while I was driving the van had this weird white smoke coming out of the vents. The steering is absolutely horrible and it either pulls to the left or right. When I brake, I have to push the brake all the way down before it finally starts to slow. I have 5 young children and I feel extremely unsafe in this van. Unfortunately not only are we wasting money on repairs, but we're wasting precious time in dealerships/mechanics that could be spent together as a family. I refuse to drive higher speeds in fear that the brakes will fail. In no way do I handle this vehicle in an aggressive manner. I follow all speed limits and do not ride the brakes. This is not I repeat not normal wear on tear for any kind of vehicle! the dealership has been no help to us. We have a bumper to bumper extended warranty and it's doing no good since it's not even covered. We will never ever purchase a Chrysler vehicle again and go out of our way to discourage others from buying them as well. I find it very disgusting that Chrysler is not doing anything to rectify this problem. I have very precious cargo as I'm sure many others do as well. How many people have to be injured or perish before they take action???? absolutely ridiculous!.

6 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2010

The brakes on my 2008 Chrysler town and country required replacement (brakes and rotors) with 22,000 miles on the vehicle. The brakes were checked in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, but were worn to the point they were unsafe three months later. This is a common problem with the 2008 Chryslers town and country's and should be fixed because there have been accidents caused by the brake failures and this is due to the poor quality and negligence of Chrysler.

7 Brakes Failed problem

My 2008 Chrysler town and country's brakes have failed at 16,000 miles. Fortunately, there wasn't an accident, but this is a serious safety concern. Ewald (milwaukee) my dealer has to completely replace my front and rear brakes. From my internet research, there seems to be thousands of people with the same problem. I have contacted Chrysler.

10 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2009

Brake failure on 2008 Chrysler town and country with only 25000 miles on my town and country the brakes started to make noise. When I took it to the repair shop my mechanic informed me that the front brakes and rotors need to be replaced and were barely working. I've never own a vehicle were I had brake issue before 38,000 miles. After looking on line it is obvious this vehicle has a brake issue that the government should drop the hammer on Chrysler for.

11 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2009

Brakes- like everyone else- my front brakes failed at 20,000 miles- I complained to Chrysler but they had no interest in dealing with the problem. $650 to fix- when repairing the front, the mechanic discovered that the back were worn by 95%. I drive to and from work (highway) and to sporting events for the kids on weekends- no excessive driving or starting and stopping.
