1 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2012

In drive, transmission jerks like a fish tugging on a line at low speeds. In reverse, transmission pulsates greatly when backing up an inclined driveway. Not all the time, but more after it is run a while. Had van to dealer twice and reflashed and tested transmission pump pressure, said it was normal. Compared to new vans on lot, said all were the same way. Lately, service mgr said you are not the first today with this complaint. Many blogs report users with these problems. One said it is due to the small torque converter that Chrysler used in this front wheel drive design. Jeep forums report the same problems with models using the 3. 6 l v6. Its sad when a 100 year old auto maker can not get the basics right.
