Failure Date: 08/20/2015

We can not get Chrysler to order parts and repair the recall for the rear quarter vent window switch. This is recall p25/NHTSA 14v-234. They never have the parts and are not willing to order the needed parts for the recall. They suggest calling them weekly to see if any part came in that week.

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2015

The blind spot detection system stopped working. Upon further investigation, it was determined that both sensors in the rear quarter panels and 1 plug need to be replaced. The right rear sensor was completed corroded through and separated apart. The plug for this sensor is also melted from the corrosion. The left rear sensor has a large bulge in the plastic from over heating. I contacted the dealer and was told that this is a known problem but there is no recall. The estimate over the phone was $3,000. 00.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2015

Car would not start or turn over, air bag light came on!.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

-Jan 2015- the key was lodged in the ignition and would not come out. I had it towed to nearest chry dealer to fix. - Jan to may- car intermittently stalls/won't start. Sometimes starts with a jump. -may- mechanic/battery installed $268. -June/July- car intermittently stalls/won't start. Starts if you wait a while. -August-won't start/wont jump/stranded with kids/towed to mechanic. -changed my batteries in my key fobs at least 3 times in 2015. -I am constantly stranded with my children and spend days without my car waiting for mechanics to find out the problem. The Chrysler dealer informs me that it's a minimum of $200 just to look at it. It will most likely be more if it's electrical and they need a day or two. I have to get my kids to and from school and can't pay for another car. Mechanic said to look at bulletins/info on tipm and win. Other chry year/makes have had exact same issues and were recalled. There is a class action suit for this year/make and many more. How am I still driving? I was given a tip by a mechanic: open the hood and then the fuse box. Remove the m27 fuse. Wait 10 seconds. Replace fuse. Start car. It's been working so far! apparently, this clears a software lockup in the module.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2015

Blind spot monitoring intermittently working. Very dangerous for lane changes.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2015

The blind spot indicator is not working. Many times within the last year and even the years before that, the indicators would chime when there was nothing around to set them off. Now the triangles on the rear view mirrors are on constantly. This van is not even paid off yet and it is already falling apart. I think this module should be recalled. I have noticed many posts that people are having the very same problem. When you buy a new car you do not want to pay thousands of dollars to fix a problem because of a faulty product.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2015

When driving our Chrysler town and country, 2011, the van stalled and died at an intersection. After a few cranks, the engine started again. Then after traveling about 200 feet the van died again and the power steering went out. I was able to labor it into a parking lot where it was towed and the dealer could not pin point an issue. Every morning it is extremely difficult to start. It has sat at our home for two days without any luck of starting it. We are waiting until Wednesday when the dealer can see the car again. Each time it is costing us $90 for them to look at it.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2015

I received a safety recall for the rear quarter vent window switch. When we went to the dealer to make an appointment to have it replaced, they told us they have requested this part numerous times with no success.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2015

2011 t&c, 50300 miles, having several ongoing problems with hard starts, hard shifting, power doors not staying open, closes automatically, extremely poor gas mileage. Have had into dealer several times for these issues while under warranty and now again having problems and of course vehicle out of warranty. Vehicle has started by its self and have found power doors open when I returned to my vehicle. My current main problem is the ongoing issue of hard starts and now problem has escalated to crank and crank no fire, have to attempt several times (20-30), vehicle then will eventually fire rpm race to 3-4000rpms then stall, again several times of shutting off and attempting to start, eventually it starts sometimes taking 30 minutes to get it running. Also just today while driving vehicle attempted to stall rpms decrease, thankfully it did not stall as I was driving with my children in the vehicle in rush hour traffic. Definitely very concerned as this is a serious safety issue and an inconvenience. What happens when you are driving on the freeway going 70mph and the vehicle stalls, Chrysler definitely needs to do something due to severity of a safety issue.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2015

Blind spot detection sensors and rear back up sensors have malfunctioned and no longer operate.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2015

Purchased vehicle in August, 2014. In January 2015, after starting vehicle, blind spot system chimed and lights in mirrors stayed on steadily. System stated blind spot system not available. After much research, numerous complaints about this problem, and the cost to repair. This is a safety issue as it helps prevent crashes due to blind spots. Now every time I start vehicle, I have to listen to the chime informing me it is not operable. Vehicle had approximately 59,000 miles when this system failed.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2015

The whole electric system shut down periodically, and the wiper go off but all other electrical shut down . Flasher light door lock etc. . . It is a safety issue and this car went 3 time to the dealer and they don't know whats wrong. We took a video of the issue. The dealer told my wife its fine to drive but without light and flasher I think its not safe. We contact Chrysler corp but nobody care.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2015

We had trouble starting car, wife was out in town and car would not start. Jumped off and started. Had battery replaced after talking to cry service. Car kept not starting with multiple fobs. Problem reoccur ed and dealer checked out car, nothing found - intermittent problem. Problem reoccurring, had battery changed again on warranty. Problem keeps reoccurring, changed batteries in key fobs, still having problem, dealer worked with us over phone tonight and got car started in neutral then ran fine. Bringing car into dealership again tomorrow to be diagnosed again but this is still happening. From reading the various forums and compliant. Com it sounds like a tip problem.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

I purchased 2011 chrsyler Town & Country. This vehicle has 1 recall that has been around a year ago and I have been on a list but still isn't fixed. Dealer said they will call me. Now van has another issue and dealer said 88 of these vehicles have same issue that isn't covered by warranty nor is it a recall. Nor does Chrysler have the part available. Plus cost of part and repair is 1,000. 00. . It is called the tipm switch in starter and is computer that controls the vehicle running. I believe that with 88 of same vehicles this should be a recall not a customer problem. I called Chrysler and they said if I order the part then they would place me 55th to get part. This vehicle has caught fire and fixed under warranty after I bought it. The defrost light came out and burned plastic.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2014

Blind spot monitoring system failed. Warning triangles in both outside mirrors stay on constantly. Menu showed message to service blind spot monitoring system. From research on the internet premature failure of this system is common, and very expensive. There should be a recall since it is a safety system.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2014

There is currently a recall for Chrysler Town & Country vans for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 for wheel bearing issues. Why is there none for the 2011 -- I had one replaced today and the two rear ones also need to be replaced. I see on the internet that there are others owning the 2011 model that also have this issue. At a $448. 82 pop for one, that's is a lot to handle when you have to have 3 of them replaced. If they were still having the issue in 2012, why is the 2011 not on recall for this also?.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2014

Vehicle in a parking lot. When I tried to re-enter the vehickle it would not open. Used emergency key to enter car but it would not start. Had a friend take me home to get second key. This did not work either. Called road service and vehicle was towed in. Results win module internal failure installed 68105739ab receiver: wireless ignition installed 56046704ae transmtr: integrated key fob total cost to me $1215. 59.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2014

All electrical equipment shut off. Then alternator not working properly-van will not keep an electrical charge.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

We have only owned the car since July 2014. The car simply won't start at times. After some time passes, it will start. While it won't start, all the lights are on and battery is fine. We have taken it to the dealer 5 times, but it has happened approximately 20 times (most recently both 12/27 and 12/28). The dealer has tried multiple solutions (upgraded software, replaced win and tipm, replaced ground wire). This situation is not safe. My wife is carrying 5 kids around (3 in car seats). She has been stranded multiple times (while pregnant and now with an infant). I have no confidence in the car, and who knows if the power will shut off while the car is underway.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2014

The vehicle 'charging system light', 'tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) light', and 'airbag warning light' have stayed on. The tires pressure light first turn on about 05/16/2014 the airbag light first turn on 07/23/2014 while driving. The charging system light first turn on 08/06/2014.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

While driving at night, a fault appeared in the dash stating that the blind spot detection system needed service. The blind spot indicators in each side view mirror stayed illuminated. At night these orange lights are distracting to the driver. Since they are always illuminated, it causes the driver to second-guess whether a lane change can be made or not even after checking the blind spot. Took the van in to be serviced at a Chrysler dealership. The service technician determined that the blind spot detection module is damaged due to water getting inside and shorting it out. The module would need to be replaced at a cost of over $1,200. He also stated that it is a common problem and gave me the Chrysler star case(s1208000087) documentation that they have from Chrysler. This is obviously a design defect as the module is not designed to get wet but is located in a location that allows it to get wet. Replacing this would not solve the problem, it would only lead me to replace it in another few years, not to mention the module on the other side of the vehicle. The service technician disabled the system via the console controls, which solved the problem of the indicator lights constantly being on. However, this has led to another safety concern in that the driver of the vehicle has been driving the vehicle for three years with the detection system enabled and is used to seeing the indicators illuminated when a vehicle is present in the blind spot. I contacted Chrysler but they would not help out with the cost of the repair. Due to this issue being safety-related, the fact that Chrysler has acknowledged the issue with their own service case, and the fact that the repair is prohibitively expensive for most owners, that this problem should result in a recall and be repaired and the root issue solved by Chrysler so that the issue does not keep re-occurring.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2014

I went to have my recall fixed. If they did the recall I would no longer be able to use rear quarter vent windows. I use them all the time. This is not a fix. This just covers your butt. I want it fixed.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2014

My 6 year old son hit the button to open the automatic door the same time I hit the it causing the door to close on his head. It closed on his head with tremendous force and pressure before releasing leaving him with a large bump on the side of his head and sore. It took a few seconds to release. It should have never closed with that much pressure as it could have broken a bone and potentially worse. The door should have stopped and released as soon as it touched my son. The safety mechanism of this door is not safe and can cause serious harm. The door needs to close slower and lighter. As soon as anything is felt in the way it should release immediately and not continue to try to close.

59 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2014

While traveling on an interstate highway, the check engine light lit-up on the dash. I pulled off the road and called my dealer which was located 15 miles away and was told that I may not make it back to them for service. The engine would quit. I did drive to the dealer without incident. The alternator was replaced by the dealer at a cost of $577. 35. The cause of the failure of the alternator was not identified, 14v-634 does not include the town and country but includes other Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles of the same year. I am requesting that this vehicle be considered for this recall.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2014

Several weeks ago the ‘blind-spot alert system” in my 2011 Chrysler town and country malfunctioned. I brought the vehicle to my local Chrysler dealer. The vehicle has over 50,000 miles (and less than 55,000 miles, at that time) so this was not a warranty issue. When the bumper was removed, it contained a significant amount of road debris and road salt. The left side blind-spot alert module was corroded. They quoted replacing that module at about $1200. At the dealer I saw a rear bumper assembly that has relatively small openings that allow debris to enter without a way for it to leave. This made it easy for salt and debris to enter and difficult for it to leave. This promoted the corrosion. I contacted Chrysler. Their position was they did not cover corrosion under any circumstances. I can forward my email exchange with Chrysler to you. I visited a local collision repair shop. They removed the rear bumper. With their expertise, they were able to inform me that the opening that allowed debris and salt to enter was located where the rear tires would throw road debris and road salt at the opening. Chrysler is replacing between 375 and 400 of these modules a week – at over $1000 each, before labor to install.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2014

Blind spot monitor sensor and backup detector failure. Important safety equipment. Updated 06/10/14.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2014

Arriving in a parking lot, I parked my car, opened the trunk door, and began to unload a stroller and other items out. I walked around the vehicle to get my 3 year old out of her seat. I instructed her to wait by her door. I began to walk around the vehicle to get my 2 year old out when I heard the trunk door slam down. I instructed my daughter back into her seat and began to evaluate the situation. I could not secure the trunk door properly and so I drove to auto repair shop, who managed to take shock out claiming they were good but noticed it broke off the vehicle. However, he could not secure the vehicle. Drove to another auto shop who then was able to secure my back door and commented how lucky we were not to have been severely injured for the reason that the back door is extremely heavy. As of now, I am in shock of what could of happened especially because my daughter always always helps me unload.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2013

When starting with push button sometimes will not start . Other times stays engaged. Brake pedal gets hard with push button that's how I know it will not start with button. Heater will turn on on its own even after being shut off. Cruise control does not always light up and work. Back hatch will not open or close with button no codes pull up on any of these issues. I have had it at 3 or 4 different mechanics and nobody seems to know what the problem is. Have pulled up things on the internet that shows temp board. I have taken this vehicle in many times under warranty and nobody could find out what the problem is. Now warranty is out and still have no answers. We did replace starter and it did not resolve the issue. Husband is on disability for brain tumor so we do not have a lot of resources to try eliminate. Would like to know what you have suggested to others that have put complaints in for the same issues.

64 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2013

I had to have the clyinder head repalces on my t & c pentastar 3. 6 v-6 enegine. In reseaching this I see that it is a limited number of cars but the t&c is not mentioned. I am reporting this because perhaps it is a much larger number of enegines and there has been no recall. For individuals who have the issue and end up out of warrenty will the dealer still honor the warrenty.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

While driving my vehicle, the ac or heater would come on, by it's self. This has been going on for a while, then last weekend, may 25, 2018 the windshield wippers came on and the dash board went blank. I had to pull over and turn the car off to get everything corrected. Before that, my passenger sliding door started making buzzing sounds when you hit the unlock button, this happens whenever you hit the unlock button.
