The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a connecting rod failure in the lower engine. The contact stated that the engine was being replaced. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v487000 (engine and engine cooling). The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
