The contact owns a 2008 chrylser town and country. After parking the vehicle about 2 feet from the curb and shifting the gear into park, the gear shifted out of park and into reverse trapping her foot under the wheel. The contact stated that as she was getting out of the vehicle it knocked her to the ground. She sustained injuries to her ankle. The passenger had to move the vehicle off of her foot. The ambulance and the police were notified. She was transported to the hospital. A police was not filed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was called and someone disconnected her call. She will attempt to contact the manufacturer again. The failure mileage was 24,000.

2 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2003 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/08/2009

The contact owns a 2003 Chrysler town and country. The vehicle was turned on and in the park position on a slight slope when it began to roll backwards. The contact was removing items from the passenger side door when the vehicle started to roll. The insurance investigator stated that the vehicle had a false park defect, which means that the vehicle would slip out of the park position into reverse without warning. The current and failure mileages were 60,000.

4 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/15/2007

Car parked on level surface with engine running & in park. Looked out of the 2nd floor window approximately 2 to 3 minutes later and the car was moving, entered the garage (door opened) and ran into the wall, making a hole in the wall and minor scratching of the front fender. The car was still running and the gear was in drive. Filed a police report since I was showing this home for sale and couldn't figure out why it started moving after 2 to 3 minutes of idling. Below date is an approximate one. Unsure of exact date at this time but would probably show up on the police report. Estimate about $200 for wall repair.

Gear shift lever engages without foot on brakes. Consumer had hand resting on shift lever and foot resting on floor, and weight of his hand slid into gear, and ran into the garage. Dealer advised to call phone number in back of owner's manual. It was nothing he could do about it.
