Headlights: low beams do not work at all but high beams do. Second time this vehicle has had the same problem. Last time Chrysler replaced under a lifetime replacement, just short of a recall yet here I am having the same problem again.

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that after activating the headlight switch, the headlights would blink off and on twice before turning off. The contact stated that the failure was present on both the low beam and high beam headlights, making the vehicle undrivable at night. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who uninstalled an aftermarket remote starter and replaced a multifunction high beam selector switch; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 156,577.

Right headlight stopped working, tried replacing bulb, but still did not work. One year before bettenhausen Chrysler had replaced bulb in April 2021. July 20, 2022, I took the car in to bettenhausen and they fixed the light, but wanted to charge almost $2,000. I had a mopar 10% off coupon, which brought the cost to nearly $1,700 that I had to pay. Having working headlights is a legal & safety requirement after dawn and during rain, otherwise a driver can be ticketed. Headlights have been on cars for over 100 years, have not had this kind of problem and expense. Chrysler designed the headlight operation so technically complicated and epensive that defies logic. My vehicle only has about 70,000 miles on it. This is a failure of Chrysler, and I should get a full reimbursement. I have been loyal to this brand since 1981, having bought at least 13 new top of the line vehicles, they need to be loyal to me. I have contacted their customer complaint department, but have not heard from them yet. I sent them the dealer work order and a copy of my paid receipt. Headlights not working are a real safety concern, and I had no choice but to get the repair. My case number is 83729232 with Chrysler. Even the dealer service workers thought the cost is rediculous, and I think it outrageous! I need an advocate to get a full reimbursement!.

Several weeks ago while driving at night the headlights suddenly went out creating a very dangerous situation. When I tried to turn the lights back on they blinked a couple of times and then remained off. Over the next several days the lights would come on sometimes and other times they would not. I changed the light switch but that did not help. I sent the tipm in to a repair center but they have been unable to identify a problem with it. 09.
The headlights will go off and stay off unexpectedly while driving at night in the dark. Lights will not go back on for days. Then they will work for a random amount of time, then stop working again while driving in the dark again. You may examine this vehicle if you would like. I think that driving in the dark and the lights unexpectedly going off definitely puts my life and the lives of my family and other drivers at great risk. This problem has been confirmed at my local firestone auto repair center. Neither the police or the manufacturer have inspected the vehicle yet. The tail lights, the dash lights, everything else works just fine. Neither the headlights or the brights will work. This has been going on for a few months. Why so long? the lights will work for weeks at a time, then unexpectedly shut off and stop working for days. Right now they are not working. I see from doing research on the internet that this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles, and I think that ntsb need to do something about it, like issuing a recall. This is a flawed design!.
Vehicle would lose power. First problem was while at the gas station with my children (age 4 and 1) and with the key in the cup holder, the doors locked on their own. I had to call my husband to bring spare key. The next issue was the vehicle battery drained and had to get jumped. The last issue was the vehicle would not turn on. All of the lights turned on but would not crank over. Took it to my local dealership and was advised that the tipm failed.
Headlight switch was turned on and headlights came on then went off. Turned light switch off and then on again and the lights came on and then went out again. This happened about dark time and I was 30 minutes from home. Cannot trust vehicle to drive at night as this has happened several times as I test the switch at home. Contacted dealership and all they could tell me is there is not a recall on this issue. No warning lamps came on. Can only drive during daytime as I cannot trust lights.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the headlights would randomly turn off, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. When the failure occurred, the headlights could not be reactivated. Additionally, the braking system would randomly malfunction causing an extended stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. Previously while driving at various speeds the vehicle had experienced jerking and shaking. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the transmission. The failure mileage was 151,000.
Our 2009 Chrysler town and country is having major issues. The dashboard lights keep going on and off the speedometer won't work when this is happening also the windshield wipers go on automatically with me putting them on and won't stop. Sometimes while this occurs our automatic door won't operate or radio. We got a new alternator a new battery a new iod fuse and it's still happening I wasn't sure if this was a normal occurrence for Chryslers so I did some research my van isn't the only one with the same issues we unfortunately bought it used a few months ago and can't take it back to the lot.

I went to turn on my headlights, and they didn't come on. All the other lights work. Parking, dash, tail, and the high beam indicator. But no headlights. Also l read that people complained about windshield washer' not working. I tried mine and they also didn't work. I see there is a recall on same problem with the 2005 - 2007 Chrysler town and country limited and they are under a recall. Mine is a 2004 t & country limited. It my mechanic has checked all the fuses and relay's and can't find anything wrong except for the lights and wind washers not working. I called my Chrysler dealership and they acted like they never heard of the problem. But that's o k with them because they don't have to drive a car without headlights.

Since I bought this vehicle from a from a used dealer as is, the passenger restraint indicator on the dashboard comes on and off, the tire pressure warning indicator, even after proper inflation will not turn off and the passenger head restraint popped out forward almost a year ago.

The problem appears to be the power module. My van is psychotic. Problem usually occurs when headlights are on, although sometimes ac will also do it. Headlights and/or wipers will randomly turn off (or on, though the off is what is scary and dangerous. ) entire electrical system is unreliable. Sometimes engine just shuts off, dash lights randomly blink, tpms light illuminates randomly when pressure is good. Battery stops charging, although alternator and battery test good. I have had both wipers and headlights fail while driving at night in the rain. I will put a date of two years ago, and the problem still persists. Chrysler no longer sells this part. Vehicle has a lifetime power train warranty, but is a death trap to drive.

For the third time the vehicle has shut off while driving on the highway, losing all power steering causing a safety issue. The automatic lights have also shut off multiple times at night while near and passing other cars. We have almost been struck due to these conditions.
Low beams driver's side won't work. Repair mechanic says it is a faulty tipm module shorting out and needing total replacement. Noticed significant number of owners with the same problem. Repairs costing close to $1000. Oo. Where is the government recall?.

Multiple times the van will intermittently stall while driving down the road or stopped in traffic. First the dash lights flicker, speedometer and rpm gages go to 0, and warning lights such as esp, traction, abs, airbag, battery etc flicker on and off and occasionally hear almost a spark through radio speakers, then everything shuts off, both electrical and mechanically. When that happens I lose power steering and cannot get my hazards or brake lights to work. One time I could barely press the brake pedal, or steer and it was at night which means the vehicle was completely dark with no kinds of lights at an intersection with my 2 children and myself inside. So very scary! it gives me the worst anxiety to drive it and I'm too scared to sell it as I feel I would be knowingly selling a very unsafe vehicle. Occasionally the sliding side doors do not operate properly. First time the other night while the van was parked I hit the automatic shut button for the sliding door and lost all power to the vehicle and then it popped back in and operated fine. I have had multiple mechanics look at it and nobody can figure it out. Bought the van used in March or April of 2020 and had issues starting just 2 weeks after purchase. The van is now at around 108000 miles. I am out of money, a vehicle and options. Please help from a very scared and desperate mother who otherwise loves her minivan!.
The wipers kick on when when there not turned on they squirt windshield wipers fluid too.
The vehicle will not start sometimes (the starter cranks but won't start) but then starts a few minutes later and you have no clue why, and sometimes the lights come on while parked at the house and then turn off. Other times the vehicle cranks up but will not start and after releasing the button it keeps cranking up for about 20 seconds? sounds like some problem with the firmware for the totally integrated power module (tipm) which is the gateway or distribution box for nearly the entire electrical system in late-model Chrysler products. Because of the intermittent nature (I have been experiencing this over more than 6 months and it will not repeat at my mechanics location) it is very hard to diagnose totally. The engine seems to be starting to run a little rougher than it used to also. I have over 125,000 miles with the vehicle and it has always worked great until this intermittent problem started. I also wake up my neighbors at different times of the night when the horn starts going off at random times. This one problem has been occurring since the car had about 20,000 miles and I attributed it to the key fob but I am not so sure. I have talked to Chrysler who keeps telling me that there is no recall so if I go in I have to pay to get it fixed while I think it is an engineering design problem that should be fixed at no cost. The date below reflects the latest instance but it has happened a lot during the past few years.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Lincoln town and country. The contact stated that while driving at night the lights went out without warning. The contact called the dealer safford Ford Lincoln of salisbury 1902 n salisbury blvd, salisbury, MD 21801 (443) 210-4835 who stated that there were no recalls concerning the lights. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 120,000. Tf.
In attempting to turn north on to route 29 from the kroger gas station in chilicothe, IL the vehicle entirely shut down when partially through the turn. The lighting turned off, the engine shut down, and power steering did not operate. I was able to shift the vehicle into neutral, and attempted to the vehicle. It started but instantaneously shut down again. I attempted once more and it started and I quickly shifted into drive to avoid being struck by another vehicle on the 2 lane roadway.
The horn was honking, windshield wipers and wiper fluid going off, rear wipers, flashers going and ignition stalling while driving,.
I experienced the following issue which is addressed in a recall however, my vehicle was not included in the recall. I replaced the part, out of pocket, and am attempting to recoup the cost. I took the van to a Dodge/Chrysler dealership and the van showed no codes, etc to indicate the issue. I simply went out on a limb to guess if this was the problem. I have receipts showing purchase for the repair. This should be covered. My family was in danger every time we drove and Chrysler refused to do anything about it!!!! the new win module solved the issue and it has not stalled once since the new one installed! While driving the van the windshield wipers came on, instrument panel lights began to flash, doors locked and unlocked and the engine lost power. The alarm system went off and could not be turned off. This has happened several times when driving and all the power is lost to the power steering, engine and lights. It is a very dangerous situation as it can happen on the freeway as well as on a city street. We have been stranded so many times and have fears to drive this van anywhere! we were stranded in seattle on a city street and had to wait two hours for a tow truck to tow it to the nearest dealer there. When it arrived at the dealer it was late afternoon and the mechanic agreed that the systems were not 'communicating' with each other but he would check it out in the morning. . . By the morning, the van was not doing it's craziness and the mechanic said he could find nothing wrong with it! we have had the local dealer check it out and they cannot seem to find the problem, but obviously there is a problem. Why can't Chrysler figure this out? it is dangerous and scary and our beloved van is no longer reliable transportation for our family. Nhtsa. . . . There have been so many complaints about this problem. . . It needs to be addressed and, yes, it is a safety issue, big time! we need your help to get Chrysler to figure out what is going on with these vans. It is as if they are 'possessed by the devil' help us please! what else can we do?.
I was driving on the road I was going to apply bright lights when I did so they did not come on my windshield wipers came on try to turn them off they would not do so had no turning signals left or right and could not get the wipers to stop.
Several times when lights were on at night all of the gauges and lights would go off for a few seconds and them come back on with all of the gauges and warning lights come on and stay on for a minute or two then reset there self . One time all power was lost for a few seconds and then back on. Had to dealer, they had no idea, no codes showed.

When I start the car the head lights come on for a second and go out . I restarted the car a couple times and it worked but no longer.
January 1st in oshkosh wisconsin while parked in driveway I warmed up our 2013 Chrysler Town & Country for 15 minutes and loaded up ready to go and turned on wipers and quickly noticed stuck to glass from ice so turned switch off. Broke loose from glass and retried wipers and poof they do not work. Checked all fuses & relays and tested wiper motor along with multi switch all good. Hooked my ansus fx4000 scanner to learn I have a tipm module problem. Next issue arouse three weeks later now automatic lights went out traveling in a snowstorm in evening & decided to further this issue. I will inform you's Chrysler is using electrical system that has many, many accessory and options all work on a ground based energizing system. Another way to put this is most all controls are positive energized at all times and body ground module sends signal to relays that complete ground circuits. Anyone with half a brain will realize this is a disaster waiting to catch fire at any given time or place and repeatedly fail. Why is it innocent working people need to die and go broke for dealerships knowingly ignore disasters. Call tipm rebuilders in California to educate your staff in recalling all scrap Chryslers nightmare electrical system has caused & destroyed good working people's pocket books for $1200 a pop to replace tipm module. Oh and dealers also tell everyone that reprograming is needed in replacing tipm module which in fact is a absolutely appalling lie . I hope to god someone wakes up an does the right thing.

My van caught on fire only driving it less than 5 minutes away from my house. Fire department and cops had to come and put it out.
Lt low beam comes on for 3 seconds when car is unlocked, then stays off most of the time. I've tried all switch positions. Occasionally it has come on for sustained periods but that hasn't happened for a while. I've wiggled the bulb connection with no effect. Checking on line, I found similar problems similar problems are happening. The dealer service dept. Acted ignorant of such problems and checked the recall list. I'm lucky, it only happens on one side, but I'm uneasy about when the other side goes out. Not to mention getting a citation for a non functioning safety item.
When driving down the road, just straight, or turning, the van will just quit. Instrument panel turns off. It has happened at 40 mph and 20mph. Anywhere, anytime, any speed. We have to put it in n and turn back on before we slow down too much to be rear ended. We have taken this to the dealership where they have no idea. The catalytic something was the only code and was replaced. . . About 1000 repair even though we have a lifetime warranty. This did not work. It quit on me again today while driving. Is there a recall? this is dangerous!!! I put today's date as when it happened because that is the last date it happened. I cannot recall specific dates before, but it has been about 3 months of this.
My wife was driving on two different occasions and the van stalled, completely powered off. All electrical systems suddenly started acting in very abnormal ways. The wipers turned on as well as sprayed. The horn started going off, the locks on the doors gut stuck. All warning lights on the dashboard turned on. The ac quit working. The biggest problem is the two occasions the van just quit working going 40 to 60mph and the brakes and power steering not responding. This I think is major safety issues because my two little kids were with her in the van.
