On 6/25, while driving down the highway I experienced some type of a power surge. The car started bucking, the a/c went off the horn started going off, the wipers started going off, the engine started revving. I was able to get off the parkway and pull into a parking lot. The things kept on happening until I turned the vehicle off. I tried to restart the vehicle, but it seemed like the vehicle was dead. Nothing worked. I had to have the vehicle towed to my house. On 6/27 I tried to start the vehicle and it srarted right up. I turned it off and tried to restart it, but again everything was dead. On 6/30 without doing anything the lights in the vehicle started flashing, the rear windshield washer started squirted washer fluid until it was empty, but the washer motor kept on operating. This lasted for about 20 minutes until it finally stopped. I attemptd to start the vehicle, but once again everything was dead. I was actually afraid while I was driving the vehicle, because of all the safety implications. When is a safety recall going to be issued? these problems could have deadly results.

This car has experienced many electrical problems over the years some of which I've been able to deal with. The latest ones in the past year have to do with the lights and it's getting to be a safety problem. Within a few years of purchasing this auto, the automatic door lock on the slider stopped working. About seven years ago, the automatic window on the passenger side stopped working. I have dealt with those problems. Over the years there have been many light bulbs that have burned out including taillights, parking lights, low and high beam lights. I've found ten receipts for repairs on those, but the most of them have been in the past two years. I was driving on a highway in the dark yesterday and tried to switch from low beam to high beam lights and they are burned out again! both lights were replaced 10/4/17. I'm afraid that I might find my lights not working at all because there's an ongoing problem that no one seems to know how to repair. This is not safe!!.

My wife was parked at a gas station 5 miles from our home and all outlets and lights began billowing smoke into the cabin. The fire department was called and they disconnected the battery. It has 30000 miles driven. She had to evacuate the children, and it was towed to a Chrysler dealer (miller in lebanon, nh) we are waiting for a diagnosis.

First problem is the drivers side back door does not open. It stopped working electronically and manually as well as the window. The lights on the dash flicker off and on, radio turns on and off, the van door dings, and it dies while slowing down or even when driving. It happens in town or on the highway.
While driving the car it will stop in motion in the middle of traffic on a city street and all the power to the entire car will go out including all flashers and airbag systems. This has occurred on multiple occasions while driving our vehicle. The fault is unknown we brought the car in to a Chrysler dealer a week prior to explain the problem and they ran tests and said nothing was wrong this now happens on a daily basis. We have three children 5 and under that have been riding in this car while this has happened and we are all put in great danger.

2014 Chrysler town and country - 70,000 miles electronics started malfunctioning while driving shutting off all inside cabin electronics including panel, radio, a/c and turning on windshield wipers. At first it did not malfunction every time but now it doesn't run 1 minute without malfunctioning. Sometimes my brake, head and signal lights will not work and the complete panel and gages will not go back up including gas, speed rpm etc. Until I shut down the car and wait a few minutes to turn it back on making it completely unsafe. I brought it to the local dealer and as expected, and mentioned by others online, they said they have never heard of anything like it. They stated that my car has 9 different computers and that they are reading malfunctions on all of them and decided to reset the module that controls all of the interior electronics. $100. 00+ nothing changed apart from the fact that it is now happening more frequently. I refuse to get into the path of spending thousands of dollars on this repair just on the guessing game of replacing part after part without positive results. Please help!.
In warm weather my drivers side power door will not latch- the motor keeps cycling. Also, when I hit a bump the car will chime, interior lights come on and the open door light will engage ad if the door is open. This has been happening for approximately 4 years and I cannot find a solution. It is only an issue a warm weather (above 70 degrees). Chrylser has not been able to fix the issue. I conducted an internet aearch and it appears that I am not the only owner with this problem.
Passenger side headlamp failure. Taken to dealer twice and replaced by owner twice. Lamp works for 1-2 weeks requiring new bulb installation. Replaced bulb 5th time on 2-18-2017 and does not work all.
I just purchased a 2013 Chrysler town and country. The drivers side rear light housing is holding water/condensation. I have researched this as a recall and found it in older vehicles, but do not see it listed for this make and model. I would like to suggest that it be on a recall list as the issue has obviously not been resolved. Thank you and many blessings! kellie reed.
When driving at night the lights just go out, all of them. I can try to stop and then put them on manu. And they come one again. I am always going down a highway of street when this happens. I try to remember to put them on manu. . So far this keeps them from going out. Is there a recall on lights?I am now afraid to use the auto lights.
When our town and country was driven at night the head lights shut off. They would turn on for a few seconds then would turn off and stay off. Even if the car is restarted or the lights turned off and back on, they stayed off.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. While driving at any speed, the exterior lighting and horn failed without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the light switch was replaced; however, the failure recurred. It was later diagnosed that the control module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 170,000.
Overhead dome map light stopped working smelled like burning it was safety issue because when I popped of the clear plastic cover I don't know why the van hadn't caught on fire yet. Half the base of the bulb was black, the plastic part of the socket was scorched ,warped , melted and smelled burn and damaged console sockets. Clearly this was defective parts that should be the reason Chrysler changed the design and part but never notify consumers and issue recall . This is series safety issue fire and electrical damaged may cause serious injuries. I was told that dealer is not responsible and not interested helping and I need to pay $400 to change entire socket for two small light bulbs . When I call Chrysler corporate again I was told they can not help because I have old vehicle . This is clearly defective design and part unfortunately Chrysler would not take ownership and accountability to notify and repair this issue . Please see attached picture when I went to dealer for replacement bulbs for about $6 each I was told I need to replace entire console because they no longer have this defective bulbs when I popped of the clear plastic cover I wondered why the van hadn't caught on fire yet. Half the base of the bulb was black, the plastic part of the socket was scorched and warped damages console sockets.

Dash lights on instrument panel/cluster are not working. Can not see how fast I am going unless I hold a light to the panel. Took it to the dealer for diagnosis. Instructed that the instrument panel needed replaced. Part at the dealership is $500 plus 3 hours of labor. Vehicle can be in motion and stationary and I still have no dash lights.
I just started having problems with my electrical system. I can hear electrical crackling noises while the vehicle is running, I have also smelled overheating electrical wires. For months the tire pressure indicator keeps flashing that I have a low tire: yet every time I have the tire pressure check, the air pressure is the same in each tire. I have taken it to the dealer twice for this problem but they can't find anything wrong: this occurs in both stationary and motion. Yesterday while driving my grandson to school, the dash lights and navigation system went completely black for no known reason, vehicle was in motion. I accidently discovered that if I quickly turn the windshield wipers on and then off the dash and navigation lights come on. Vehicle only has 37,000 miles and I feel this is the beginning of of some major safety issues in the future and the warranty is expired. I have had the rear stow and go seat replaced because the seat would not go into the standard position, nor would it go into the stowed position. The seat would just go up and down at will. Finally after calling Chrysler and 3 trips to the dealer, they replaced the entire seat. But it still acts up ocassionaly. At this point, I have not been out any money for repairs but I am beginning to fear driving the vehicle. I never know if the lights are going to suddenly decide to go dark with driving at night, or if the rear seats are going to start going up and down.

This is my 7th Chrysler or Dodge minivan - and I love them. I searched for 6 months to find the model/color/features I wanted before finding this particular vehicle. I was thrilled that it had all the options I wanted - highest on my list is the 'blind spot sensors' as I do a lot of highway driving with kids in the car on busy michigan highways. A few weeks ago the sensors would 'stick' on, but after restarting the van it they would work properly for a while, and then 'stick' on again. Now they are always on - making an extremely expensive safety feature option useless as I have had to turn them off to stop the constant chiming and for the sensor lights in my side-view mirrors to be off. I have looked all over the internet and apparently this is an extremely common issue. Where can I get serious safety this issue fixed? as it is apparently some design flaw I do not believe *I* should be responsible for paying for these repairs and if it cannot be fixed I should be reimbursed the sticker cost of this feature as it cannot be used!.
Windshield wipers, horn, washer fluid, and lights inside and outside of vehicle randomly go off and wont stop unless the battery is disconnected. This will also cause the car to start on its own and wont turn off if already running. Took to a mechanic and they said it was the clock spring but it only lasted for a couple of months and is now doing the same thing. Check engine light came on and is showing again a problem with the ecm. I have looked online and there are hundreds of other people reporting the same problem with no explanation from Chrysler and no recall issued.
My wife was driving the vehicle at night on a two-lane highway when all of the lights went out and she could not see the road. She was able to get the van stopped in the roadway as there was no other traffic at the time. When she opened the door to see of the dome light would come on, the lights came back on and she was able to get back home. Had there been more traffic, it would have been a much more dangerous situation.
Vehicle stalls while driving. Radio turns off while driving. Unintended acceleration. One occurrence of not shifting out of 2nd gear. Clicking noise heard from outside of vehicle when off for extended period of time.
The head lamps stopped working an evening. They turned on and off for awhile and now they just turn on for 1 second when I satrt the car and then go off.
Trouble starting vehicle, front window rolls down and lights turn on when the vehicle is off.
Chrysler town and country would not start. I put the key in the ignition, turned it on, the van would not start however windows would roll down and radio would play. Replaced the battery and issue remained. Would stop to get gas a d when. I got back in the van it would not start. This happened several times. One minute it ran just fine and next thing you know it wouldn't start. Leaving me stranded with my 3 kids numerous times. Took it to a dealership and had to pay to replace the tipm. Now there are issues with the rear ac. It works when it wants to. Some days it works just fine and other days it doesnt. It is currently in the shop to have this issue resolved. I have videos of exactly what happened at the gas stations when we were stranded. The video shows my husband putting the key in and the car not starting.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler town and country. While driving at night on an unlit road, the headlamps failed to illuminate the roadway sufficiently. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was concerned that there was an object inside of the headlamp that prohibited the proper projection of the headlamp beam. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

The head lights will turn off unexpectedly. Flipping the on off switch helps to turn them back on, but it is getting harder and harder for them to stay on. I was driving in the early, dark morning hours down a very dark highway that is not illuminated with street lights.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the vehicle lost power and stalled without warning. In addition, all of the lights on the dashboard remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired but they could not find anything wrong with it. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 105,000. Ad.
While driving down the road my head lights flicker then go out, very dangerous. Have taken it to dealer and they dont know what causes this, they say they have never heard of this, we replaced switch, not fixed. Dealer is telling me to replace tipm, $800 to $1000. I bought this van 6 months ago. Wow any suggestions?.
We can not get Chrysler to order parts and repair the recall for the rear quarter vent window switch. This is recall p25/NHTSA 14v-234. They never have the parts and are not willing to order the needed parts for the recall. They suggest calling them weekly to see if any part came in that week.
Tl-the contact owns 2006 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at any speed the right signal failed to activate instead of the right the left signal is the one that would activate. The contact would use the high been and it would correct the signal. The failure recurred few times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the turned signal switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 156,000. Aw.
While driving on the interstate all of the gages in the cluster went to zero (mph, guel, engine temp) and I had no directional signals or emergency flashers.
The van passenger side door keeps opening and closing all by itself. The lights flash, then it unlocks itself and opens and closes over and over. The key fob will not do anything except open the passenger door, it doesn't matter what button you push. The door just keeps doing it and it can go on for up to an hour. We now have to disconnect the battery when we go somewhere otherwise we come back to an unlocked vehicle and an open door. The flasher also go off when this happens, it does it randomly so you never know what to expect. I have talked to some friends who are having the same problems. I think it is some kind of defect that the company should take care of.
I would like to file a complaint and have a inquiry opened about a Chrysler and faulty safety device blind spot detection system on one of their vehicles that fails repeatedly time and time again but doesn't have a company recall. I have a active case open with Chrysler and have tried to get them to review this safety feature that fails without notice on perfect mint conditions vehicles Chrysler town and country minivans. There a very numerous cases of this that has a price tag that is extremely expensive for the part in the car. Two 3" x 3" plastic boxes are over $1100 each and will not work if one fails so both have to be replaced at the same time causing a $2200-$3000 expenditure are very limited mileage on the vehicle.
Inside of the dome drivers and passengers dome lights melted (apparently from heat of bulbs) and shorted bulbs. Loss of light is inconvenience/hazard. . . . But it appears to be hot enough to cause fire or other electrical problem(s). This problem seems to have been reported multiple times by other owners.
