1 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 09/25/2014

After turning on ignition, windshield wipers turned on highest speed, although switch indicated they were turned off, there were no lights illuminated on the instrument panel, the speed, temperature and message center was not working, radio was working but had no lights, air and heat panel was working, turn signals were not working. Appeared to be electrical or computer malfunction. Turned the vehicle off and on twice to attempt to fix issue, but same issue occurred again both times. On the third attempt of turning off vehicle and re-starting, switched on and off the light switches, wiper switch, turn signal indicators a few times, and lights and messages came back on. Concerned that possible computer malfunction may override operator's ability to control lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and other safety necessities while vehicle is in motion. Software update/recall had been performed approximately two months ago.

2 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 07/20/2011

I had two Chrysler products, (one minivan and one ram pickup), with the same concern within a matter of weeks. When turning on the left turn signal, the outside right turn signal flashes. I own a service repair shop and checked my "identifix" data base and see this is a common issue with Chrysler products. The multifunction switch is bad causing this concern.

I was driving and about to make a right hand turn. I turned on my right turn signal but my left turn signal came on instead. 6 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 02/09/2007

A one week ago, my left turn signal would not shut off after making a left turn. I have to shut it off manually. Within a couple of days it started making a clicking noise before I could get it in to be fixed. Tonight I was driving the car, making a left turn and as the steering wheel was returning to the straight position (before the wheels were straight) it locked in a left turn position and would not release. The car kept turning to the left and I had to force the steering wheel to the right. Finally after jerking the steering wheel to the right it released and went back to a straight position. Something in the turn signal locked it up and would not allow the steering wheel to fully release after making a left turn. After that the right turn signal will not shut off. Luckily nobody was in the lane to my left or else I could have hit them. I am now afraid to drive the car until I get it fixed.

8 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/23/2006

The turn signal indicator in my 2001 Chrysler town and county started to fail. When I indicate that I wish to turn right the left turn signal comes on outside the vehicle. I consider that the component failing in this manner where the opposite turn signal comes on to be a serious safety issue. I spoke to the manufacturer (daimler Chrysler) about this issue and they said that the component was out of warranty.

Power locks. . . . Locks you in, cannot open the doors. Locks you out, cannot open the doors. Does not lock all the doors at once, usually leaves passenger side sliding door unlocked. Have had system replaced, is now worse than original. Also, sets off alarm unnecessarily. . . . . . . - windshield wipers come one intermittently when turning corner, turning on turning signals, or without any justification. Very startling, and extremely distracting when driving and the wipers just come on. Thank you for your work.
