2 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/12/2019

1) the third row pier folding seats have twice been inadvertently activated by a child touching the button, and narrowly escaping being crushed by the folding seat. Also, the seat jammed in the half folded position and the dealership wanted $2600+ to fix it. The power folding seats are a death trap if someone cannot get out of the way when the button has been activated. 2) twice now, the electrical system has been flashing random codes- the tire pressure gauge when the tire pressure is fine, the abs and traction light, and also weird Mini rough idles at very low speeds in heavy traffic. It is a repeat problem that the shop seems to only temporarily fix.

4 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

Problems with the wiring and fuses that move the front drivers and passenger seat. The wires are hot and the fuse blows constantly. Resulting in the seats being stationary and not working. I've had several mechanics look at this and have replaced the fuses about 30 times. The only thing I have not done yet is have the seats completely rewired to get the power seats working. This has been an issue since my husband purchased this van about 5 yrs ago. I cannot drive our van because the seats are stuck. I've talked to other town and country owners that are having similar issues.

5 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/30/2015

While driving at any speed the van randomly starts blinking all lights on the dashboard and then the driver power seat starts randomly going forward and backwards which creates a very dangerous driving situation. This has happened on multiple occasions and is started to become more frequent. When this happens we immediately pull over to the side of the road because at times you cannot touch pedals because the seat is extended to the full length making it hard to reach the pedals. Our van has never been in an accident, this just started happening this month.

6 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/04/2015

The vehicle would not start, no lights, no power, unable to unlock/lock with fob. (nothing was left on in vehicle or plugged in). Fully charged battery to 100%, drove next two days with no problems. Bluetooth stopped working and connecting, buttons failed to respond, power seat on driver stopped working, power slide door on passenger stopped working. Battery died again, this time able to get lights, but not start. Chrysler jumped the vehicle, left running to charge. Drove 5 hours straight home and parked, ensured everything was turned off and locked. Next morning, battery dead again, no lights, power but static sound coming out of all speakers in the car. Chrysler towed car. Ran scans /diagnostics, claim to find no problems but cannot identify what caused static to come out or why other electronical equipment failed. Their claim is they used the only authorized battery scanner for Chrysler which triggered no problems with battery or electronics. . Still in shop again. 3 dead batteries in one week.

7 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/26/2008

During a recent family vacation, we loaded our 2008 Chrysler town and country for the first time with a lot of luggage. The third row has power folding seats with the wider side having a car seat and the smaller side unoccupied. While trying to retrieve items from the rear during a rest stop, the luggage shifted and activated the power folding seat. Thankfully, the seat my child was in didn?t fold because of the car seat. The other seat proceeded to fold and crush everything on it. Three more times we accidentally enabled this when the luggage shifted and the car seat and luggage had to be completely removed each time to allow the seats to go back. There should be a trap door over these buttons or a lockout switch to prevent this from happening! not only is it very dangerous but also very frustrating. We have to always make sure now that we don't load up anything on the left side of our van and it's only a matter of time before a child is injured by a seat accidentally being folded.

11 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 1996 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/17/2000

The driver's side power seat broke, causing the entire seat assemly to rotate backwards about 20 degrees. The vehicle was stopped and the engine was not running. I got into the drivers seat thru the left front door and, as I reached back to grab the shoulder belt, the seat assembly lurched backwards. It was as if the seat had turned into a rocking chair. The seat back and seat cushion were fixed at about a 90 degree angle, but the whole seat assembly could be rotated backwards about 20 degrees from the vertical. The recline and tilt features still work, but the seat will not move all the way back and it cannot be raised or lowered. I checked under the seat and there were several pieces of what looked to be a shattered metal flange or bracket of some type. Obviously, a piece of the seat assembly had broken which would allow the seat to rotate backwards if one pushed on the top of the backrest or accelerated quickly while seated in the moving vehicle.
