1 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 05/30/2019

Purchased van used from non-Chrysler dealer June 2018. Since owning van we have only taken to Chrysler for all maintenance work needed. After last oil change we felt the van was"acting funny". Trans. Was slipping/banging into gear on up shift and downshift. (intermittently) called dealership a week after oil change to take van back to get checked out. They said we had to schedule appointment for the end of may they were to bust to get us in any sooner. On may 29,2019 the van had a awful scrapping/whistle/buzzing noise coming from trans/engine area. No warning lights. On my way home from work van would be sluggish and then all of a sudden have a surge of power*bang* into gear especially when stopped at traffic lights then trying to go again. Almost ran into car stopped in front of me. Took van to Chrysler dealer may 30th. Barely made it to dealer van had no power, loud whining/buzzing, banging into gear. Check engine light went on going to dealer. Findings by dealership trans oil pump loss of pressure. Suggesting replacing the trans. Assy. Asked them about recall for 2016/town&country trans pump? the dealer and Chrysler goodwill dept. Both said van does not have recall? and because it has 66,374 miles the powertrain warranty is over & because we didn't purchase car from the dealership they can't help us with extending warranty or goodwill for replacing the transmission assy. The dealership diagnosed our problem as the same as the recall.

2 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 05/16/2019

I reported issues with my transmission when the vehicle had 19212 miles on it. The problem reported has been hard shifting and hard down shift at stops. Problems occur in city driving conditions. Recently, now at 49100 miles, 2nd gear isn't kicking in. Dangerous in heavy traffic when rush hour traffic has the tendency to come to a stop and then go but if the vehicle doesn't shift to second gear. I need to pull over and shut the vehicle down and turn it back on and hope it will temporary fix. The service department at my dealership said I needed and oil change (recommended is 60k for transmission). I went ahead and paid for this service but the problem still exist in 2nd gear not shifting in. The dealer service advisor said my vehicle needs to re-learn my driving conditions. I'm weary about the advisors explanation and will find that at 60k powertrain warranty expiration. The service department will diagnose the problem at my cost. As it has occurred with my window motor/regulator. I reported a distinct noise when operating the windows at the same mileage noted above. No problems found. Today my vehicle is in the shop for the same problem but it's out of warranty and I will be receiving a call with the cost to repair it.

3 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 05/16/2019

First reported my transmission concern at 19212 miles with the dealership service department. Hard shifting and slipped downshift at stops. At 49100 miles the 2nd gear isn't shifting in and requires for me to stop, pull over and start the vehicle again. The service advisor recommended a transmission oil change. But I continue to have a shifting problem and the advisor claims my vehicle needs to re-learn my driving habits. It concerns me to have this as an explanation when there is only 1 yerra/60k left on my powertrain warranty. In addition with 19212 miles I reported my drivers side window making an unusual noise. Dealership service department said no problems existed. At 49100 miles my drivers side window is completely unserviceable and now I'm told I will get a call with repair cost.

When I press the accelerator it's never take quick pick it's always take long time for pick the speed and the engine or transmission make some heavy noise. I took the car at Chrysler dealership & as per them there is no problem at all but seriously I'm not sure they checked my car properly or not. 10 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 02/24/2010

The are are many issues that I have faced with my 2009 Chrysler town and country touring (25th anniv. Edition). First are the brakes which make this metal on metal sound after 6,000 miles; the transmission is always slipping and you can feel it big time while driving, whether its down shifting or shifting up. The steering makes way too much noise. Dealer has said nothing is wrong with transmission, but you can definitely feel it. Online forums people have complained about having the same problem with all three. Take a look at it! the transmission is always slipping and steering is very frequent almost every day.

I have had it to the dealer three time so far for erratic shifting and had shifting at low speeds and other transmission problems. After the last time I had it in and the tech flashed the transmission module it took about a month of in-town driving until it started doing the same thing as before. Along with this the following things have started to happen: 1. Loud noise and jerk while moving vehicle from park to drive or reverse. 2. Low speed up and down shifting from first to second gear while in parking lots or under 15 miles and hour. . 3. After placing the transmission in reverse there is a (metallic) clicking noise when you push on the accelerator. 4. When you place the vehicle in reverse there is a whirring sound before the car goes into gear. 5. When you accelerate from a stop to highway speeds there is a hard shift from first to second and the after that when the vehicle shift into the third gear there is a shudder or slipping feeling. 6. On occasion when pulling up to a stop light or stop sigh the vehicle will downshift when it completely stopped. I have been talking to the dealer and finally contacted Chrysler about the problem. So far there has been nothing done except to flash the transmission per a service bulletin they had.
