On interstate 95 I was on the on ramp and tried to accelerate and merge onto the highway the rpms went way up and the vehicle slowed down and has no acceleration leaving me in the path of a tractor trailer who honked his horn and barely missed me. I limped to the shoulder got a toe trk to row it to a repair facility. I was told the tranmission pump had gone out and that there was a recall for these transmissions.
Noticed the vehicle was leaking fluid. The vehicle temperature gauge was also running hot. Went to a garage on 9 18 2024 and was told the 2 transmission hose lines were leaking and needed replacing. Was a significant leak. Was not able to use the vehicle due to hot temperature gauge and only able to drive the vehicle a short distance and leaking fluids. Had to have both transmission hoses replaced at about 84500 miles. (see different complaint, that 1 - 2 months later, on 12 5 2024 had to go to a garage and have the oil filter housing replaced due to another leak and replace all related fluids).
Unknown nature of causing transmission to surgeon rpms before going into overdrive. Has caused the vehicle to go into limp or loss of power mode. Would be very dangerous if it happened on a interstate or very busy highway. Could cause a wreck or death.

I was driving and all of a sudden my 2015 town and country was shifting erratically then the transmission had no drive all rpms kept going up but no movement there needs to be a recall for these 62te transmissions there are so many complaints about these transmissions failing and nothing has been done over years and years same issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact was forced to place the gear selector into either park(p) or neutral(n), and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle resumed normal operation after being restarted. The contact stated that on one occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that there was a sensor inside the transmission that was defective, and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train); however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
The van began making a squeal noise and the rpms fluctuating then the check engine light came, I got it scanned the code was for low transmission pressure, this vehicle has less then 100,000 miles on it. The vehicle was inspected by two different repair shops.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed as a failure with the transmission torque converter. The contact was informed that the transmission torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nhsta hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000. The VIN was not available.
While driving, transmission began to stutter and car began to buck. No check engine lights came on. Transmission then had a whining noise and was overheating.
While driving the vehicle it loses power and will not shift gears. This happened in the middle of a busy highway with me and my children in the car. When turning the van off and back on it will then go into gear but then quickly loses power and will not move forward. This happened 7/28/2024.
Cylinder #1 misfire fuel injectors replaced 4/16/2024; 7/26/2024 cylinder #6 misfire and compression leak. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge additional issue with this 3. 6l engine cylinder head. Customer service disconnected me when I asked to file a complaint. Called the canadian phone number on x56 service bulletin and repeatedly got disconnect.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed, the contact became aware of a failure with the transmission. The contact stated that the vehicle could not be shifted out of neutral. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a failure with the transmission pump. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
Drove 20 miles to doctors appointment in vehicle. No signs of problem. Was at doctors office for about 2 hours. When I left doctors office vehicle was acting erratic. Making noise and revving even when not applying gas. Jolting forward unexpectedly. Hesitating when accelerating. There were no indicators and no check engine light coming on at that time. I got off highway and took back roads until I found a place to safely stop vehicle. Turned vehicle off and waited a bit. Started vehicle again and drove it around a cul DE sac several times to try to see if it might be better. While driving in cul DE sac check engine light finally came on. It was steady, not flashing. This was several miles after car first started exhibiting erratic behavior. I could not tell if car would be controllable. After parking car for quite a while and letting it cool I was able to drive it the rest of the way home, going slow and coasting when possible to avoid having to accelerate and brake more than absolutely necessary. Ran diagnostic which suggested transmission problem. Looked up recalls and although 2015 town and country has recalls for transmission pump my VIN number was not covered under recall. Once transmission was taken apart and investigated by mechanic I learned my transmission pump was indeed bad and so was my torque converter. I had to pay for transmission rebuild and pump and converter out of my pocket. While I was driving the car the day this happened I had no warning of the problem. Drive to the appointment was normal- no noise or erratic behavior. Drive home was scary. Hard to judge what car would do. Had to leave lots of distance in case car jolted forward and go slow in case car would not accelerare when needed. Had to pull over and let car cool multiple times to get all the way home. If I was not able to exit the highway when I did I fear I may have had an accident trying to drive safely at highway speeds.
My vehicle was going up hill when it started smoking. I pulled over and found a leak under the van which was transmission fluid. I had to pay $2200. 00 to have the vehicle towed home to my local mechanic and now it is costing an additional 1800. 00 to fix the torque converter and transmission fluid pump. It dropped in speed from 50 to 30 to nothing within seconds of going up the hill.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that after shifting to reverse(r), the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the failure mainly occurred while reversing on gravel and on a slight decline. The mil warning light and the tpms warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle responded as needed while reversing on a flat road surface. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 20-25 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact's wife was able to restart the vehicle and drove to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission pump had failed. The mechanic determined that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Spark plugs and motor/transmission mount fixed but car started shutting off when I would come to a stop. Took it back to dealership and they stated the tcc failed and was replaced, started messing up again a week later. Wouldn’t start , I had the battery and alternator checked and both are good. It is currently back in the shop.
1. Engine runs but when I shift into reverse, drive etc. Car does not move. When I took it to be looked at, they said that my transmission doesn't have pressure. There was no indicator lights on the dash or any reason for me to think anything was wrong until I went out to drive my kids to school and it wouldn't move. Available for inspection on request.
Transmission shifts very hard at 85 thousand miles.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the transmission failed to operate as needed and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the gear shifter remained in neutral. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the nhsta hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
While driving, vehicle gradually lost power and suddenly turned off with out warning.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35 mph, there was a loud buzzing sound coming from the transmission. The contact stated that moments later the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence and the contact used a diagnostic machine to retrieve a transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced that same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 74,000.
Vehicle lost power while driving and shut off while driving.
Transmission is slipping, hard shifting, delayed engagement. I checked and it says this van is not in recall but it is doing the same thing.
While driving the transmission lost power and car behaved like it was in neutral while in drive.
Left head needs to be replaced at just over 100,000 miles. . . There is a recall for all 3. 6l pentastar engines from 2011-2013 but I have seen hundreds of 2014's that have the exact same issue. The recall needs to be expanded to include newer models as well. I was just given a quote of $5,000 to replace the left head.

Vehicle slipped out of gear causing vehicle to jerk suddenly and wouldn’t drive. Vehicle had transmission flushed and now drives but intermittently (frequently) vibrates hard/shakes like it’s coming out of gear while at certain speeds. This make/model vehicle had a recall issued for this issue but my VIN wasn’t part of the recall. It has all the issues the recall listed.
Car shakes and stalls when coming to a stop. No lights on the dash. Took it to a dealer and found it is the sensors in the transmission. These should not break on a van that has under 100,000 miles.
The oil cooler and oil filter housing unit is made of plastic becomes cracked and leaks oil and coolant. With it leaking oil and coolant the engine can seize and over heat. I have had the same problem with my 2012 Chrysler town and country with the same plastic oil cool/oil filter housing unit.
On my way home the transmission pump failed in my van which then caused the entire transmission to fail. I was at a stop sign and when I went to go the car to not move forward, it would just rev as if I was in neutral and then when it first happened, it would suddenly kick in to gear. Now the dealership tells me it will not go into gear at all, it just rev's. After some research we saw that there is a recall for this exact issue that exists for our van's year and model; however our VIN was not included in the recall. As it stands right now we are having the transmission replaced but this is obviously related to the existing recall and believe it should be added to it as well. Chryslers number for the recall is s44. I've included the invoice from the dealership for the repair stating that the pump failed.
I have a huge issue with the safety of my vehicle. While I am driving the car will race the rpms up 6,000 up and down while I am going 65 on the highway, but the car down not speed up. The only way to stop it is to pull over the busy highway and restart the van. It will also sometimes drop down in gears and cause the vehicle to skid and shift the back end to the side. I called the deanship and they said the will not help. This is scary for me and my kids. To fix it would be over $5000 and that is more then the van is worth and I think it would be bad to sell it knowing this issue.
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. The contact stated that the battery replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the vehicle started jerking while the transmission was shifting between gears. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that there was a burning smell coming from the a/c vents while driving in hot weather. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Several unknown dealers were notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.

The oil cooler that is located under the intake manifold has a very bad issue and they crack and almost everyone of the engines like this I called about 9 diff shops and everyone of them told me it was a very common issue the one shop even keeps 5 in stock I already have changed this one but it causes them to leak oil down onto the exhaust and transmission and for some reason or another when ours started to leak badly the transmission acted up and we had to have that rebuilt so on top of the 250 dollar part it also cost almost 5k for a transmission at same time I feel there needs to be something done about this as it a very bad common issue on all the engines like ours.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission failed, and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The transmission was replaced, and the contact related the failure with an unknown recall; however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 40-50 mph, the vehicle unintendedly decelerated, and the vehicle failed to exceed 30 mph while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was unsure whether a warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled into a parking lot and the vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was test driven by an independent mechanic. The mechanic determined that the transmission pump had failed and needed to be replaced. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
