2 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 09/21/2022

Last month when driving my van started to stall when driving came to a stop at a light and the engine jerked, light turned green started to drive and it wouldn't go over 30 then all of a sudden it speeded up and the started making a weird sound pulled, off into a parking lot wasn't able to get it all the way in a parking spot. Called to have it towed. The transmission blew and it only has 65,000 miles. That cost me alot to get a transmission. Now the seatbelt on drivers side will not lock into place. Which I don't know what to do with that because you have to wear a seatbelt. When I bought this van brand new I had a lot of electrical issues kept taking it to the dealer they could never find anything. Lights would dim when driving, they was suppose to hook a machine up to it and it would register what was going on, this was requested by Chrysler when I couldn't get anywhere with the dealer ship. Chrysler set it up I go to the dealer and they don't have that equipment so they said they couldn't do anything, called Chrysler back told them was suppose to hear from someone never did. I feel this van is a death trap. The side doors act like they don't want to close at times. I have kept up on regular maintenance on the van. I just feel that when you pay $30,000. 00 for a vehicle and take care of it things should last longer. I know it's 7 years old but low mileage and taken care of.

13 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/27/2019

While the vehicle was in motion, the buckled seat belt on the passenger side third row seating locked in place as my autistic grandson wrapped it around his neck. I looked in the rear view mirror, pulled to the side of the road which luckily happened to be a Toyota dealership. The employees in the shop could not unbuckle the belt and as my grandson was already turning blue they had to cut the belt free from him. He was left with bruising around the neck but had I not seen him in time I feel he would have been strangled to death. These long belts from the upper part of the vehicle are a hazard for children.

14 Seat Belt problem of the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

I was rear ended on June 8, 2019 with my 3 small grandchildren with me. The two in the 3rd row seat were in booster seats properly installed. The rear end collision was hard enough to total my car and the car that hit me. The seatbelts did not lock in the crash and the 2nd row belts do not lock either. I think Chrysler should recall these seat belts in at least the 2007 Chrysler town and country. We were stationary on a city street in omaha, ne.

This is very unsafe especially for children. We were on a busy street in omaha, ne when the accident happened. Hit from the rear at about 35 miles per hour or more. Also, my air bag did not deploy after I was hit from the rear, my car hit the person in front of me.

Airbag dash signal intermittently illuminates. It seems to be related to a sensor in the driver seatbelt. Was given an estimate of $375. It chimes when I turn the wheel. I'm not confident that the airbag will safely deploy if in an accident.

19 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/23/2018

The driver's seat belt spontaneously unbuckles while driving. Even after latching it securely, hearing a 'click' and noting the absence of the driver seat belt warning, it has come unbuckled spontaneously which triggers the seat belt warning. This has happened dozens of times and we are having to replace the seat belt as a result. Note: although this vehicle is a 2014 model year, it had less than 17,000 miles on it when we purchased it and immediately noticed this problem. That was in October of 2017.

20 Seat Belt problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/17/2018

In March 2018, I went to put 7 passengers in my van and the passenger (a child) on the passenger side, third row, outboard seat informed me there was no buckle in that seating position. Upon further inspection I noticed there indeed was no buckle, just a piece of metal sticking up where the buckle should be. I contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (I purchased it in November 2017 used) who informed me that I would need to wait until they were able to locate one. They never called back. I went to my local dealer where I was able to purchase the replacement buckle for around $50; but was informed I would have to pay an additional $120+ for the buckle to be installed. I have tried to research how to replace the buckle myself, but only found other frustrated Chrysler/Dodge van owners with the same issues! I contacted Chrysler today (5/16/18) and spoke to "nick" who informed me that there was nothing Chrysler would be able to do for me because the car has more than 36,000 miles and I purchased it used. I voiced my concerns about this being a safety issue that Chrysler needs to investigate as it will eventually lead to the death or serious injury of and individual and that seatbelts should last the lifetime of the vehicle, not just 36,000 miles! I was told again, there was nothing they could do and the call was ended.

21 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

22 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

The transmission cooling lines are leaking. While traveling daily to work on many occasions, my lights in the dash, my radio and all power up front would go off while driving and just recently while parked. Oil filter housing assembly is leaking. Had to replace the full oil filter housing assembly and int manifold set. Twice, as the vehicle has been in motion, the engine has stopped and the ability to steer is gone. The radio has stayed on. Both instances have happened at 25mph or less, thankfully!.

23 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/05/2018

The outboard seat belts in the third row are installed too far forward. They do not lay against the passengers chest and do not fit car seats/booster seats properly. This is a huge safety concern and a very disappointing discovery after we purchased this minivan. This is a design flaw.

24 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/05/2017

A couple months ago, the srs light started coming on intermittently. The light comes on randomly, while driving, while parked, while making left-turns, while braking, while accelerating, etc. . . Because no accident had occurred, I assumed it was faulty connectors that may have gotten wet, so I brought it into an auto shop. They pulled the historical codes, since the light wasnt on at the time, and it says it is a driver side belt tensioner issue. I have 68,000 miles on our van so I had hoped the dealer I bought it from would have some good news (maybe it is covered under warranty) - its not. Reading online, it seems this may be a common issue with some town and country Mini vans, so I figured I should report as well.

31 Seat Belt problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/07/2016

An oncoming driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic (me) before turning left. We narrowly avoided an accident, but when I braked hard and swerved, both of the seat belts in the third row holding my children's car seats came undone. (both children still use the five-point harness while in their seats. ) one child (still strapped into her car seat) flew into the back of the front passenger seat and the other child (also still strapped into her car seat) flew into the back of the middle row seat directly in front of her.

33 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/09/2016

My 4 year old child was buckled in his booster seat when the seatbelt locked as he buckled which then let to him being tangled around the neck since it was in the locked position the only way to release is to completely retract or cut being he was being strangulated the only way was to cut the belt. All vehicles need to have an emergency release or some sort of release. If I didn't have a pair of scissors it could have been a seriously bad situation. Not even sure of the purpose of the locking when fully pulled out as a safety feature. . The middle buckle has a release to fold the seats back. . Why aren't all seats belts like that? I found hundreds of post about children getting tangled in locked seat belts. . It's dangerous and needs to be addressed! I was parked when this happened in a very rural area 20 min for local ems or fire departments. It's a scary situation and could simply be resolved by adding an emergency release of some sort! of course the cost of replacing a seat belt is mild compared to a life of a human but still it could be prevented 100% by an emergency release.

34 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 04/29/2016

The passenger side outboard shield required replacing. When the shield was being taken off the lower end of the seat belt fell off. This was due to stripped threads on the pad head screw that is used to fasten the belt to the seat frame and also the threads in the seat frame are stripped.
