Air bag light constantly on, no horn no cruise control no radio control. 2 Speed Control Springs problem of the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/12/2017

08/12/2017: I left my home & had only traveled a short distance & the entire vehicle stopped working. There was no power. The instrument panel was black & the engine was not running. I pulled to the side of the road as best I could with no power steering or brakes. I turned the key to off. I attempted to restart the vehicle. It took 3 tries to get it started. I did not drive it again until the next day. The problem did not occur again. It is now at the second dealership waiting for diagnosis. I also have an escalated case open with Chrysler customer service. 8/9/2017: I had to take my daughter to the doctor for an emergency appointment. I started the vehicle. Backed it down the driveway. Put it in park. The vehicle stopped working. The instrument panel went dark & the engine stopped. It took 8 tries to get it restarted. I did call & report the problem to the dealer. 8/3/2017: I took my vehicle into the dealer for the same problem. It was failing to start the day before. It took 3-4 tries. It also randomly shut itself off when I put it in park. Also once when I put it in drive. I reported this to the dealership upon dropping it off. They drove the vehicle 60 miles & could not replicate the problem. It never shut off while they drove it. They returned it to me but did note the error codes when they ran a diagnostic that the vehicle had had some type of failure. 7/11/2017: I had the vehicle at the dealership I purchased it used from a year prior. They diagnosed the failure to start & random power black-outs while driving as a screw being loose on the battery terminal. Charged me $200 to tighten a screw & sent me on my way. Spring 2017: contacted orig. Dealership. The vehicle was doing something odd. The instrument panel had gone black, the wipers were running at full speed & could not be shut off, yet the vehicle was still running. 08/10/engine light.

5 Speed Control Springs problem of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

On around November 18, 2013, about a week after trip to chicago and during an overnight cold snap (about 25 degrees from 45), was pulling out of driveway when I put my foot on gas pedal it made a sound as if the gas wasn't reaching the necessary area to make it move forward--the esp/bas lights and the traction light lite up. I pushed gas pedal again and it made the same sound but the car moved a little faster as I rolled onto the street. The lights from esp/bas and traction stayed on. Drove about 10 miles to work. No other incident with gas pedal but lights stayed on. On December 2, the same incident happened with the gas pedal, but only after I had driven about a mile. I put my foot on pedal and gas gurgled and the esp/bas and traction lights came on while the car seemed to want to use it's traction even though there was no snow or ice on the ground. Took to dealer and was told that the angle sensor needed to be replaced and that the clock spring was defective. Stated not under the life time power train and no recalls.

6 Speed Control Springs problem of the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 10/22/2013

Critical safety equipment has failed in my vehicle. Most importantly, the horn has stopped working and I am unable to alert other vehicles of possible dangers. Inoperative horn. Inoperative drivers side airbag, inoperative speed control system. These safety feature failures are due to airbag clockspring failure. Chrysler recall or notification code d17. The Chrysler d17 recall (clockspring failure) included Chrysler town and country vehicles from 1998 through 2000. Although the model year of my vehicle is 2001, the vehicle was manufactured in Aug. 2000. The horn does not work at all. The horn not working is a tremendous safety risk. I am very fearful for my safety and the safety of my family. The airbag not working also puts me and my family at great risk. I believe that my vehicle would be included in this recall because the part has failed and my vehicle was manufactured in 2000. My ultimate concern is the safety of my family and I wish that Chrysler would honor their customers by providing repair for this great safety failure. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification. Thank you.

9 Speed Control Springs problem of the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/25/2008

It was a clear day and the pavement was dry. I was driving about 55 mph on a 2 lane highway heading west on dayton-yellow springs rd near fairborn ohio. The car appeared to speedup on it's own, I hit the brakes and let up to try and gain control. The Mini van went left of center, spun back to the right and flip on it's side into a ditch. I had been complaining to my husband that something was wrong with the van. He drove it a couple of times because of the high mileage had new tires put on. A couple of days prior to the accident, a CO-work drove the van and she said something did not feel right with it. She has drive my van numerous times in the past.
