On 7/24/2020 I was involved in an a front end accident. After taking it to a collision center they went directly through the insurance company. The insurance sompany agent indicated they totaled out the car due to an air bag issue. The clock spring in the steering wheel caused the air bag light to turn on, they also indicated the the air bag control module would need to be replaced and a seatbelt module. The agent said that would be thousands of dollars to replace and it's not safe for the roads so they totaled the car out.
There was a recall on the airbag system, which I have taken to get fixed. There is a airbag light now flashing on and off and I am too afraid to drive it. When I asked about the dealership ship shewed me away and said maybe it's the wiring, well hell I didn't wire it myself. I want it noted I called about this issue also reported it was told it's not part of the recall. So I guess they wait for something to happen first, then recall it?!?.

Takata recall, the air bag light comes on and off it mainly stays on, sometimes the seat belt if put on at a right time the air bag light will stay off but only for a few minutes.
Airbag light is popping on while driving.
The airbag light keeps going on and off. A few times I would undo my seatbelt and then secure it again and it would go off. But it comes back on again. Brakes: I have had all 4 brakes replaced and my brakes still squeak and they grind. Ive had this done twice and it does not fix the issue. It makes a rattling sound when going uphill. And squeeks and grinds when coming to a stop. This has been going on for months.
Ever since I bought the car from the dealership, the air bag light turns off and on while driving, minutes apart from each other. Never had my airbags deployed fortunately.
Air bag light constantly coming on and off, beeping, and sometimes just stay on. Brake lights continually come on - every few months for weeks at at a time. Also feels like car wants to give out a lot.

Vehicle air bag light has been on for months, recently took it in for the orc recall dealer advised that's not the reason for the recall, hes had multiple other Dodge Avengers come in with the same issue. He sed me to contact Dodge and file a complaint. I did read today that 2012+ Dodge Avengers have came up with another recall that has to do with air bag light being on so I don't know what else to do beside file a complaint. Ive also had multiple other issues with this car, the braking system will skip before stopping (its really hard to explain). Ive been to 4 different mechanics jensen tires, tires plus, brakes plus, and the Dodge dealership themselves. All of them have performed a full inspection on vehicle and said everything is perfect and nothing is wrong with the car. The vehicle will stall at times going around 45-60 mph, turning at 15-20 mph and going up hill around 15 mph (Dodge says thats normal for Dodges). Car will clunk when putting it in d,r,p (Dodge says all Dodges make that same noise). Car idles rough when slowing down to stop, rolling and stopped at a stop light (Dodge says its normal for Dodge vehicles to do that when its hot outside). Im going to trying to go to another dealership for another full inspection and if they don't find these issue I will be junking this vehicle, its not safe to drive, its very hard to drive and I don't feel safe at all.
Head rest has separated while not driving. Since the time it separated the airbag light in my car will not go off. I have not been able to reset it on my own and seems that it was not part of a recall that was an airbag issue with the Dodge Avenger identified in 2016. My car has not been in an accident, in good condition, but I have an airbag light on constantly and my headrest is "popped". This is not safe to have happening in ordinary driving conditions. This part should be recalled by Dodge. There are many complaints about this all over the internet for 2014 Avengers. People could get hurt. I have not had the part repaired by Dodge, but have been quoted upwards of $500 to fix a headrest! the headrest is what is setting my airbag light off and not knowing if my passenger will be protected is not comforting. Dodge needs to fix this issue. It was an issue for 2010-2013 models and that is no different for the 2014 models either.
Air bag light on dealership says it has nothing to do with the orc recall that was repaired, brakes skip then pop before stopping took it to multiple mechanics to get inspected none of them could fine an issue including Dodge dealership. Front door can not be shut before back door or it will scratch back door. Oil leak from engine gasket and engine pan. Popping it steering column and shaking when going down hill. Again dealership and 4 other certified mechanics can not find any issues with the popping it the steering column and jumping and skip in the brakes before stopping. The brake issue happens at any speed and popping in the steering wheel happens mainly any slower speeds when letting go gas or brake no turning going straight.
Good afternoon, to whom this may concern. My vehicle has the air bag light on and I have been going to the dealer ship to get this taken care of and every time I have gone to the dealer they are telling me I have to pay for them to remove the air bag light when a recall was in place for the occupant restraint controller, they fixed that issue but the issue of the air bag still remains. They are asking me to pay $139. 00 for them to find the issue and then pay another extra amount to resolve this matter. They are refusing to fix this issue without a cost and it has been way too long trying to get this resolved.

My airbag light constantly turning on and off when I turn left or right my car never been wrecked before.
Takata recall. While I'm told my airbag is takata I'm now told it is "s61". In any case, today my airbag light came on while driving locally in town and highway; on and off infrequently. I called Dodge and spoke to a "glenn" who gave me case # 32033318 for the airbag. However, he said the "airbag light" is a separate issue, case # 32033352. He called a local dealer "fields Dodge in sanford, FL" after telling me Dodge will set up a diagnosis at no charge, and put me on line with "tom" at "fields Dodge. " he said there would be a $89. 95 diagnostic charge plus whatever they find. I told him what "glenn" told me and he told me "glenn" was only a call center employee and was mistaken. I told "tom" I would call Dodge back. I called and spoke to a "quarneka" this time who reviewed the notes and could not find "glenn" telling me no charge for the diagnosis to me. I asked "glenn", "quarneka" and "tom" what the risk is of driving with the light on and none had an answer. My question to all, unanswered, is that "isn't it strange my 2014 Dodge Avenger has a known airbag issue and all of a sudden the airbag light comes on for the first time and there is no relation? what a Dodge and dealer ripoff. We just made a 4,000 road trip from florida to new england and back with no issues.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who found code: b1c14, indicating that the front driver's head rest circuit control was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that a case worker would call her, but she received no response. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
Vehicles air bag light has been on for about 2 years, I took it to my mechanic and he said a code pulled indicating circuit 1 is open, but when searching parts in his system it indicated theres no parts for fix at this time.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The contact did not receive a recall notification, but found online that the VIN was included in an open recall. The contact called colonial Dodge Jeep (24 coolidge st hudson, MA 01749) and was informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v68000 (seat belts, air bags). The remedy part for the repair was not available. The contact was advised to call NHTSA to expedite the part. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Air bag light coming on and off intermittently. After looking online my car also has the same air bag light problem that have been listed numerous time (but for some odd reason my VIN isn't one of the recalled cars) online. While driving the car the air bag light will come on and go off continuously. Reading around I have found that the problem lies within the seat track sensor. This needs to be fixed on all cars and not just the ones Chrysler deems to want to fix. This is a huge safety issue and could lead to some serious problems. The NHTSA needs to make them do the right thing and fix all the cars, not the select few they (Chrysler) deem to might be having problems.
The airbag light kept flashing on and off and eventually has stayed on. There's a connector with two wires that have separated due to constant in and out of the vehicle as used for. There are no current active airbags in the driver or passenger side seats due to this reason. Labor and part costs are more than income can handle; this is a safety issue that needs fixed.
