Air bag light goes off and on while driving. It can stay on for several minutes then turn off and back on again. Car has 60,000 miles. Local dealership tells me it will cost over 120 to diagnose. I worry about the safety of this problem if the vehicle is to get into an accident.

8-21-2017 had a recall preformed for a airbag issue. After the repair was done there was still a code in the system for the driver active headrest control circuit open. I had already investigated the airbag light ( March 2017) and found many sites stating a broken wire in drivers seat. When I got the car home I finally investigate the wire issue and found the black wire approximately 2 inches before a yellow connector where a plastic stretcher was applied broken inside the fiber covering of the 2 wires. I was a mechanic for 30 years so I stripped the wires and reattached. The light is still on so I am thinking when it broke or what ever it caused a system issue and that this was a known issue and should be repaired by Chrysler at no charge. This vehicle has been one of the best Chrysler products I have owned. The service technician said it could cost around 400 to fix.
My airbag light is constantly on, I would like to know when repairs for this recall will start, I was told back in April/may it would be in July and haven't heard anything as of yet. My airbag light has been going on and off and now its just on for months.

Have been driving vehicle with airbag light on for over 6 months and recall parts are still not available. Manufacturer has exceeded reasonable amount of time to correct problem. Potentially unsafe to drive and difficult to sell with illuminated airbag light. Dealer will attempt to diagnose for substantial fee citing recall remedy is not available yet. Seems like delay benefits the manufacturer. Light illuminated at about 45,000 miles.
Recall s61 occupant restraint control module. I was notified October of 2016 of this recall, stating the fix would be available in June of this year. My air bag light came on in January. A local autosho diagnosed the problem as the recall. The local dealership said they couldn't do anything until the fix became available in June, didnt offer to help get me into a safer vehicle. They just said nothing could be done at the time. Come June, the fix was pushed till August. I'm in touch with the dealership now, and they have said that parts are on hold, and they are waiting for Chrysler to release the parts. I have two young children in the car with me at all times. This car is not safe to drive, and Chrysler is not fixing the problem in a timely manner.
I was driving and airbag light kept coming on and going off. Even after I turned my car off and back on it did the same thing.

It began with the air bag light going on and off as well as the air bag sound. It became more frequent and occurred mostly when taking a left hand turn. Concerned that the air bags might deploy, I pulled the fuse. When turning the steering wheel, there is a spring noise behind the steering wheel that pings in either direction.

I looked up a recall for 2012 Dodge Avenger air bags but was told this recall does not apply to my vehicle. Occurs when car is stationary and in motion on all terrains. Light will turn off occasionally and then turn back on.

My car is having all of the same problems that the vehicles form the tpms recall had. My car isnt covered under the recall though. The cruise control wont work, the battery just goes dead, the remote start sysyem wont work, sometimes the engine wont start, the radio stays on all the time if you dont manually shut it off, the air bag light is on even though there is nothing wrong with it. I feel as though since my car has all the same problems and I have seen many more complaints from others on this site and other websites that the recall should be reevaluated and expanded to cover more of the same year of vehicles. Please do something about this for all of the owners having problems.

Took my car to Dodge was told theres no recall yet I looked up my car in front of the service guy showed him the information he told me that wasn't true I would have to pay for my car to be check. Also my windshield wipers come on when they want to yet there's a recall for that as well an service continue to say the information not true. Do they just not wont to fix it. Both are so to the totally integrated power module (tipm) , which is a control modual that needs to be replaced.

Air bag light illuminated. VIN not in recall range.
Air bag light on dash stays on when driving the car. Goes off about 10 minutes into driving the vehicle and then a bell noise beeps a few times and the light for the airbag comes on again.
I was driving to the store through my neighborhood and the airbag light kept coming on and going off. Even after I turned my car off and back on it did the same thing.
Orc module is defective after dealer diagnostic check. Airbag light on continuously. I feel that this module is defective as it is in 2011 models, etc. This car has a build date of 10-2011 so it probably has the defective orc module just like in the 2011 recall notice. There are many complaints filed now and Dodge should be taking care of this for these 2012 Avenger models. Dodge states that my complaint will be reviewed internally but failed to provide me with follow up contact info. I could tell that they just wanted to end the conversation and not pursue it. So when do these complaints get reviewed? when people get seriously injured or death? now I drive this around with no air bag function, wonder why they even upgraded software for the tipim head restraints recall. . . . . Still don't have air bag function.
This week, my airbag light began to blink intermittently, usually when accelerating. After a day, the light came to be on continuously. I got the vehicle to the shop on Saturday and was informed the active headrest on the driver side had an open circuit and that the entire airbag system was disabled until we can replace the currently backordered part at a cost of ~$300 plus labor. This is a part that was covered under a recall for my make, model, and year for the active headrest, but my VIN does not seem to be included. At this time, I am driving over 100 miles a day with no airbags in a 3 year old car. It is not safe and it is a part that apparently should have been included in the recall. A part that is never used in a 3 year old car should not fail and definitely not do so in such a critical system. Chrysler told me they'd add my vehicle to a list for review and let me know if they'll cover the part or not. Meanwhile, my extended warranty won't cover it because they feel as I do that Chrysler should.
