My car doesn't start. I've been having the same problems since last year. I've been told 3 times that it was the alternative so I've bought 3. Then I was told it was the cords on my battery so I fixed that. Now I'm currently getting it looked at which I think it is the transmission or starter. I've also bought two batteries. Last week wen I went to the store a girl came up to me and asked do I have problems with my car I told her yes she said her mother has the same car as I do and told me that she her car keeps turning off and want crank. She said she put so much money into the car that she just had to get another one. So I know that it has to be something wrong because I'm also having those same type of problems and I keep my car up very well.

I was driving approximately 40 and then the car had no power. When I gave it gas it would not go. It dropped to about 10 mph. The red flashing etc and engine light came on. Very scary. I could not move out of anyone way if I had to.
Passenger side blows cold air and will not defrost the front window when driving. We live in mt and this causes visibility issues and seems to be a common problem with this. Also, the vehicle keeps quitting at various times. It has been seen multiple times and over $5k dropped into it with the same issues.

When heater is on. . . It blows hot on driver side and cold on passenger. . . This happens wit all fans and on all settings. . . I don't have documentation but when I researched the problem. . . Many people with this car same make and model and year. . . Had the same exact problem. . . This is how and why I'm making this complaint.
Car started running hot no lights on. Fan stopped working. Also replace break parts and still a break problem. Then air bag has a recall found out at dealer ship after purchase and they refused to fix. I was driving when vehicle ran hot now stuck on side of road.
Vehicle in limp mode and won't shift gears property. Started after a purchase of the vehicle had no idea that this was going to be a issue until I had it for about a week and engine light came on and then started the limp mode and then driving it is very dangerous. Because it won't change gear and going up a hill is impossible when it won't change gears. Or speed up. . It slows down instead.

Purchased 2012 Dodge sxt plus at auction. Recharged a/c but lose cold air after 3 days. Evaluations by 2 mechanics, dye, pressure tests, shows no freon leaks. Heater core is leaking and possible evaporator issue, same as what's seen in other complaints for Avengers. Frustrating that the heater core leak is so common on Avengers, mechanics all state is manufacturing issue, but no recall on it. Expensive to replace and no guarantee that it won't go out again.
I was driving down the highway this has happened I believe atleast 3 times now, all of a sudden while driving not sure if a specific speed but I was going atleast 50 mph each time, the steering wheel seems to lock up for a good second or two which is a long time when your going that speed. It's extremely scary and the first time it happened I didn't know if it happened or not than it happened again not sure how long after and that's when I was like ok maybe that steering wheel did lock up before than when it happened again I knew for sure it was really happening cause I had a friend in passenger seat who witnessed this . Now it's been a while and my car all of a sudden won't start and my steering wheels will not lock . I've replaced sensors tried deleting codes . The codes I got were wrong immobilizer key and low voltage . Doing as much research as I have for the last week buying and trying things I've seen a major problem with these cars is a security issue and it can shut your car off as your driving normally. Thia is dangerous and for as many complaints how is there no recall on this.
My vehicle lost power in the middle of operation , I also lost power steering and braking during this event.

Temperature gauge alarm came on while driving and noticed the gauge showed it was really hot. Pulled over to let it cool down and noticed the fan under the hood wasn't running to help cool it down.
I have had my 2012 Dodge Avenger for a little over a year. The heat does not work on the passenger side and I was told by the mechanic I purchased from that it was an issue with all these cars and nothing could be done. Also in the past 6 months my car has went dead while driving and would not crank for at least 3 to 4 hours. I was just on this interstate Friday night going 60 and my car went dead and had to coast of the interstate in a really bad part of town. I see that there are many issues with both of these and cannot believe that nothing is being done about this. Thanks Dodge.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at any speed the vehicle heating system only operates on the drivers side. However the failure reccured. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000 tp.
Heat is only blowing on drivers side, blows cold on passenger side.
My engine starts shaking when I cut my car on.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine and electronic throttle warning lights remained illuminated. I was driving my 2013 Dodge Avenger and the horn goes off by itself from 3 seconds to 3 minutes constantly. When I drive the car it cuts off. My car has only 85000 miles and I have read similar complaints regarding this vehicle around that mileage.
I have no heat coming from my vents no matter what setting. I've brought the car in to local repair shops and no one can figure out what's wrong. After seeing dozens of complaints on the same issue in different forums I decided to file a complaint.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle started to lose acceleration and the stability control, check engine, and brake warning indicators illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who determined that the emissions system montior and a fuel leak were the causes of the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Heater core issue. Replaced several times yet still getting build up causing hot air to blow on driver side but cold air to blow on passenger side.
Passenger's side of vehicle blows cold air when the driver's side blows hot air. This is an ongoing problem with most all 2011 thru 2014 Dodge vehicles, of which Dodge is aware of. The heater core is clogged with left over filings and dirt from the engine when it was made. It is a major job to replace the heater core. This problem should be a recall as it is a problem created when the vehicle was made.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that there was no heat in the front and rear passenger sides of the vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 101,320.
Currently having an issue with heat not working on the passenger side of my 2013 Dodge Avenger. Cold air blows on the passenger side and only heat is blowing on driver side which impacts defrosting on my vehicle. This is very frustrating because I cannot see at times and also winter is coming and I need t keep my child and I warm. This issue has been reported several times by Dodge Avenger owners. What is it going to take for Dodge to recall this issue and fix it??? ialso paid $1500 to have my tipm fixed in the vehicle because the horn was honking at all times of the day and night and while I was driving it.
When I am driving the battery light will go off along with the abs and the brake light. I just bought the car about a month and a half ago.
When heat is on, the passenger side blows cold (I live in WI so, when I say cold, I mean cold) air from every blowing port on the passenger side. . . Occurs at all times, whether stationary or in motion. Have tried a few things reccomended on multiple other pages by people who are experiencing the same exact issue. No help. The driver side vents do blow warm air but, not close to as hot as it should be. This has been occurring since right around 118,000 miles. I start my car 20 minutes before I leave my house at 5am to bring my young children to daycare and be to work by 6. When getting in after being started for 20 min. . . Barely any difference in temp which, is frustrating when you drive with your babies 35 minutes in the cold cold cold along with several deer and a windshield that won't defrost completely. Have purchased the extended warranty from dealer and, somehow (what a shock) there is no help for me as 'the issues being described sound like it was brought on by you, the vehicle owner or, enviorment factors'. . . It hurts knowing you are a loyal and honest human who works hard every day to barely make ends meet and then. . . To have your character slandered by the (several thousand dollars extra) lifetime warranty that the salesman so confidently swore by on the day of purchase. Owner misuse? there are hundreds and hundreds of people having the exact same issues who own the exact same car. . . Sorry but, safe to say that isn't coincidental. I have children and groceries and gas to get to work and school and life. . . It may sound ridiculous to some but, the $900-$1600 they are saying it would cost. . . Doesn't come easily for just everyone. I'm just hoping that some people will choose to do the right thing and, stand behind the very words that lead them to where they are currently in life. Faith in these humans will hopefully bring appropriate solutions.
My oil light came on and all it does is ding and there is no code showing up. The tire light keeps coming on amd off even though all the tires have the right amount of air pressure. The airbag light started coming on if I turn the car off and restart it does go off but sometimes it will turn back on.
While driving the engine will throttle down or cut the acceleration off making it dangerous to drive on the highway. I have to pull over repeatedly to turn off the vehicle and restart it to make it to a safe place to look at the engine.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger the contact stated that the vehicle spontaneously caught fire under the hood. And the fire spread to two houses. The fire department distinguished the fire.
