Ignition Module problems of the 1996 Dodge Caravan

Five problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/28/1999

4 trips to dealer to correc. -now it needs body computer.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 06/23/1998

When driving at any speed, the transmission went out, and the computer made the vehicle shift. The computer went out and the vehicle started up, and sometimes the vehicle will delay. Consumer states prior to the transmission going out, the engine would make the same noise every time, transmission hesitates before going into gear, finally on 20-oct-98, vehicle was hooked up to a computer showing faulty transmission.

3 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 07/13/1997

While driving at 55mph the defective computer module was inoperative, causing the vehicle to stall and had no power, almost caused an accident.

4 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 11/01/1996

Defect in head gasket caused oil to leak causing the air idle valve control,pcv,fuel filter, hormica balancing board, throttle,water pump, theromstat, iignition module to have to be repaired . Timing belt was recall Dodge did not put it on right causing to head gasket to leak. Timing belt covers was never replace when it was recalled. Was not notified of this recall timing belt broken while driving.

5 Ignition Module problem

Vehicle will stall without prior warning. Consumer must wait for while in order to restart vehicl. , dealer and mechanic cannot determine cause. Throttle body ,idle speed motor, computer changed , a solenoid replaced, but defect keeps occurring. Please provide further information.
