14 problems related to ignition have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle stalled while going 55 mph. Unable to start vehicle after coming to a stop.
Upon slowing down to 10-15 mph vehicle will hesitate, and then completely stall, cause unknown. Dealer cannot identify the cause. The dealer believed the transmission failure is causing the problem and replaced it . When the problem continued the dealer replace the torque convertors, battery and finally fuel pump but the problem continued.
Intermittent stalling, also power steering and anti-lock brakes failed.
Vehicle stops in moving traffic without warning.
While running air conditioning, car engine cuts on and off ,and engine has shut down at 60mph and started up with no help.
While driving 50 mph or any speed engine dies without warning, cause unknown, nearly caused accident.
Vehicle stalls unexpectedly in traffic at its highest running temeperature.
Check engine light comes on, then vehicle stalls out, almost resulting in accident. Tt.
The van losses power and can't climb hills. Tt check engine light has illuminated, consumer states there is a fuel leak, gas tank was replaced.
When driving on a long distance trip the truck stalls, took to dealer can't find problem .
