Accelerator Stuck Problems of Dodge Caravan

2011 Dodge grand Caravan crew-the gas pedal gets stuck in acceleration, the dealer states it is the gas pedal assembly. There is not a current recall, but the dealer says it is not safe to drive the vehicle and it must be replaced, or I can risk killing my family. Filed a complaint with Dodge, they said the "do not have enough complaints to issue a recall". I guess they are waiting till someone dies. Their warranty to replace these types of items ends at 36,000 and my extended warranty will not cover it. What a waste of money these warranties are. I doubt I will ever buy another Dodge!.

While driving my 2005 Dodge Caravan the gas pedal became "stuck". This has happened in the past ( I have owned the vehicle for about 3 yrs. ) this time though it took longer to "unstick" it. Usually if I press harder on the pedal it will start working normally again. This time it didn't budge and took several attempts to get it functioning again.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving, the accelerator pedal stuck. When she applied a lot of pressure to the pedal, it would unstick and then surge forward. The failure was intermittent and the characteristics continuously changed. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 54,000.

Gas pedal sticks. Sticks every so often-20 times or so at lights, on highways, etc. Was told erg valve replacement might have affected this. 2005 Dodge grand Caravan. Consequences include stomping gas pedal to speed up when in traffic.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Caravan. While driving approximately 35 mph the accelerator pedal stuck and as he engaged the pedal the vehicle lunged forward and the rmps rapidly increased. The failure has occurred approximately twenty times; however, he was able to control the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who were unable to diagnose or duplicate the failure. Consumer stated that 2005 Dodge Caravan accelerator stuck and she could not stop. Owner put both feet on the brakes, and the vehicle could not stop. The brakes were not working well enough to get the van to stop with the accelerator stuck. The van will still not come to a complete stop. Consumer came to a red light; and the vehicle did not stop or slow down. Consumer had to run the red light to keep vehicle from hitting another vehicle/pedestrian. Consumer pulled the van into a parking lot, trying to get out of the way, and keep it from hitting another vehicle. The van went up on both left wheels when the consumer turned into the parking lot after the vehicle came back on all 4 wheels. Consumer quickly turned off the ignition and vehicle stopped. Completely. Left front side tire suffered a blow out prior to this incident, several months ago. The tire was replaced at no charge. Consumer did not ran over anything for the tire to blow out. The van was taken to a local dealership on gastonia, approximately 40 miles from the original dealer where the van was purchased. The original wanted consumer to bring the van to them so they could inspect it themselves. The dealer offered consumer a rental for three days while the diagnostic test was performed. Consumer had a rental car for 5 days, but she refused to pay for the rental.

Accelerator sticks, causing consumer to have trouble controlling vehicle's speed. Cannot make the vehicle speed up, but when it speeds up the accelerator sticks, and it is hard to slow down. Dealer has not been contacted.
